That's a very good point actually, never thought of that.

It's true what you say, in a nutshell "what's done is done, move on".. but we are an internet forum, we discuss things, including the things that are done but don't agree with. Turning the other cheek or closing our eyes just because we can't do anything about it would defeat the purpose of an online community. Anyway, Torres was given enough time to regain his "form". Talking about form, we've seen his best form, it was just before this Liverpool game. It's his ceiling, he has no class anymore. It's pretty obvious Torres has stuck around only because of financial reasons, so it might make sense to the board to have him around, but average Joes like myself don't see it that way. We're probably naive, but we believe that shit players should be let go and better players should be kept. When that doesn't happen, there's wide discontent. Sturridge's performance reminded us what kind of potential we have lost for monetary reasons, his 45 minutes against us was better than what Torres has ever played for us. In short, I can see your reasoning, it's cold and rational. But you have to understand that many people thrive on emotions and you can't deny that what we saw yesterday, the stark contrast between their ex-player and our ex-player, was enough to cause uproar.

Look, success is measured by what you win. This year we were in 8 competitions, now we only have the chance to win the fucking Europa League. Are you seriously saying that it would be better than the FA Cup and Champions League? If we fail to win even that, it will be the first trophyless season. Yes we might have played more dire football last year, we did, but it doesn't show that it was the worst season. It will be remembered as one of the greatest seasons in our history. This one will be forgotten and written off quickly. One point about transition. Yes, we are in transition, but imo it's been horribly managed. It should have started ages ago, then we wouldn't be talking about "biting the bullet during radical transition", we would be talking about gradual evolution. Now we suffer because because we went from old to new too quickly.

Definitely not. The squad limit is 25 players for every team, so if you have 25 crap players who never get injured, you're not gonna win the league. In short, it's about depth, balance and talent/skill imo. If you get a few injuries and don't win the league because of it then frankly you don't deserve to, because having all those 3 aforementioned ingredients would mean you always have adequate replacements. I don't see much room for luck in winning the league, I think whoever wins it deserves it. It's not a cup competition where luck and missing players can make a huge difference. And of course you need someone to manage it all carefully and meticulously, picking the right players at the right time at the right moments.
