Who's this guy? Is he someone who's most likely going to get loaned out, placed in reserves or is he someone who's going to have an impact right from the start? What position does he play exactly (I know he's a central midfielder, but what kind)?

That's basically IPB itself saying that this site is the best one using their software. Pretty sweet

I don't really know about this. A player that tries 15 long balls and fails at 10 of them still shows more ambition and drive than the one who plays it safe and has no outstanding negative or positive impact. It would be really hard to find a player who has impressive positive impact and minimal negative impact, because you can make positive plays only by risking failure more often than not. If one of those 5 long balls led to a goal, then I would rather take those 10 failed passes along the goal instead of having a player who doesn't even try and rarely fails. From our squad, maybe the best comparisons would be Luiz and Mikel. David loses the ball a lot, concedes mind numbing fouls from time to time, tries ambitious passes with overwhelming failure ratio, but we still rate him much more than Mikel, who retains possession well by playing safe passes, but offers little in offense and is often passive at defending, thus Luiz's mistakes get highlighted more because he tries more and has higher chance of hitting either the positive or negative side of statistics. Mikel, on the other hand, shines at passing accuracy, but nothing else - does that mean he has only positive effect?

First I would like to explain why I opened this thread. Since the general Mourinho thread will be bloated for some time, it's very likely videos about his tele appearances will go largely unnoticed. And because Mourinho's press conferences are as good as the games themselves, I believe this deserves a thread strictly for sharing streams, videos and information about his PC's, pre/post-game interviews and so on. First stop - his first PC, which should be on 10th June? PS I can't make my own tags for this thread, so I had to choose "new signing" or "closed". It wouldn't let me post without it. Staff are free to remove it.

Kojo made a few posts and then reported them himself. He wanted to get banned.

Dunno what I just did there, looks a bit silly. I like to think we could find balance between solid defence and ruthless offense with this formation and line-up, but against stronger oppositions we most definitely would need to replace either Oscar or KDB for Ramires. But generally this team would operate on the basis of outscoring the opponent.

Probably no members old enough to have seen him properly, except maybe one or two.

A technically good player, for me, is someone who can pull off something that he thinks and wants to do in his head. For example, if a player sees an open player 50 yards ahead, and decides to pass to him, and most of the times he gets this pass right, then he is technically gifted in that area. Same can be said for dribbling, if you want to get past a player, and if your feet and body obey your thoughts, you are technically sound. If you shoot on target a lot and score many goals, we can say he has great shooting technique. Often you see average players whose intentions are clear, but they seldom execute it as they intended, they aren't technically talented. So in short words: Technique, for me, is a player's ability to make the feet do what the head tells them to do.

The board wouldn't allow to sell Hazard, signing him was of great importance to the club, in every sense. Signing him was the most important victory after winning the CL, it stamped our authority even further. He has the potential of becoming the next Torres in marketing sense.

Intense pre-season to cost us next season?

I haven't kept an eye on football matters recently, so forgive me for not knowing, but has Mourinho's appointment been confirmed? I see people talking about him as our manager already, if this is the case, why can't I find anything on the official website?

How long will the players actually have this summer to properly rest? A couple of weeks? This post- and pre-season is ridiculous. I just hope the new manager will manage the squad properly. EDIT: "The eight-team tournament will see us play three games in August, with opposition confirmed from Europe, the Barclays Premier League and the MLS." This is not so bad then if it's only 3 games. That's 6 pre-season games total, pretty standard. -
The way Drogba flies after connecting with the ball is Supermanish. As if he's guiding the ball mid air. It was such a difficult header, to this day I don't really know how he struck it so perfectly. I'm almost certain he wouldn't have done it had it been some random prem game, but a final, a big final... then he was something else entirely. Such an awesome goal.

Only first teamer I'm hoping will play is Torres, so that he could possibly get a lengthy injury, which will force the board to sell him. Am I the only one thinking such dark thoughts, no? Otherwise there is no chance we will sell him, because he scored in two consecutive matches, which must mean he's back again, yay. For the rest don't really care, as long as the burnt out players don't play and the likes of Ferreira, Bertrand and Marin get plenty of time.

Wonder if the "greatest ever player" poll would be repeated, would Drogba still win it? I guess we all know the answer to that.

Just came here to post it. Anyway, what is Chalobah talking about? The angle he scored from was nowhere near from where Frank scored. At least Zola tried to emulate it as much as he could, Nate wasn't even trying. Makes you appreciate Frank's goal even more, it really was unbelievable - the angle, the occasion, the opponent. Probably my most favourite goal of all time. Yes you have those long screamer power shots that look unbelievable, but they aren't that rare. This goal, however, was so unique that it's hard to replicate even with no pressure and defenders. Buuut it's good to see Zola kicking the ball around and giving recognition to Lamps this way

I don't understand one thing, why was he chosen to become this megastar? What was so special about him? There is no footballer name more famous than his. Everybody knows brand Beckham, I even have his deodorant in my closet.
-
Not good at assisting strikers? Have you any idea how many assists him and Drogba shared between them? One season Lampard had like 20-30 assists. Not bad eh? In fact Lampsy's total number of assists is greater than of Gerrard's, Xavi's and Iniesta's I believe. EDIT: Nevermind, just say nono's other post in the previous page. Hopeless.
