Honestly, I don't know. Ideally a natural full-back who has good stamina and is good at attacking. Know anybody who fits the bill? I'm not too familiar with full-backs right now, they aren't as interesting as midfielders or attackers Out of the current team I can only think of Willian, but he would be another makeshift WB like Moses. Ideally we'd have somebody natural there.

I'm not so sure about this anymore. Next season we will have Christensen, Zouma, Luiz, Azpi and Cahill for this position. If Ivanovic and/or Terry stay then we're set, if not, then we might need to look for a backup defender, but for starting positions I think we're covered for next season. Getting good wing-backs is a more pressing issue if we persist with 3 at the back, or at least proper covers for Alonso and Moses if they keep this form up and cement their places. At the moment we have none.

Everybody has limitations without exception and I don't see people being blind to Moses's either. People realize he's not good enough as a winger for example. It's not like we are going over the top with praise, everybody is just pleasantly surprised that he's performing above expectations in a position where he hasn't played before. A nice change from last season when we couldn't say that anybody was playing well, we could do without the forced negativity when we are doing so well after a long long time is all I'm saying.

Did Mou turn him down or did Kante turn him down? I thought Kante did... but if it was Jose then he probably thought he was too short and preferred Fellaini in his position.

In a properly drilled team, given the freedom he needs, he is unstoppable. Listening to Jose without blue tinted glasses on, I could hear so many hints towards Hazard's underperformance and weak mentality, while praising the likes of Fabregas and Ivanovic for "not playing well, but understanding their mistakes and coping with it"... really? Man management at its worst. So glad we got rid of him and brought in Conte, or we would have lost Hazard no doubt and played with uncreative workhorses like Willian and Pedro on the wings (reminiscent of the Kalouda days).

Probably Pedro because I like the directness he offers. It's not an educated opinion because I don't know Soton's characteristics, maybe Willian would be better, maybe not. A lot also depends on Willian's mental state right now. I would anyway play the same line-up as against Utd.

Last season he was completely out of his depth, constantly picking the ball from deep and trying to dribble up (or in one instant dribbling backwards to concede a corner, honest mistake lol). You know who I blame for lack of any attacking cohesion last season. I'm looking forward to seeing what Pedro has to offer when acclimatized to a proper attacking system.

Exactly, you speak the truth. When you said that Wilkins told Carlo wanted him, I got the impression you thought he and only he was responsible for signing him, which is ridiculous as you know. Therefore I blame the board more than Carlo or any manager for setting us back in those years with clueless signings and appointments, with maybe Mourinho being the only exception as I feel he was given unprecedented control over club matters. His claws even extended to triviality like having a say over who hosted Chelsea TV (I swear there was some kind of conflict between Mourinho and a CTV host who was later ousted, or am I making things up?), then the public Carneiro meltdown and the rest is history... he lost everything there but luckily Conte is here to pick up the pieces.

Yes, they have PR help, but we cannot know if what they say in particular cases was calculated or just said impromptu to a journalist asking. In any case, if he is bullshitting, then Courtois should hire his agent, think we all can agree on that.
