Think our performance will depend on the players' mental approach. If they are scared and go into hiding, then we're in trouble. If they are intent on showing their former boss what they are really capable of, then we can win. Just play the same team as against Leicester, not sure Willian is ready so I'm not gonna chuck him in my fantasy line-up just yet. We also have a huge advantage of having a whole week to prepare while they'll be wasting time in Europa League. Oh, and Kante's pocket is ready for John Obi Pogba. Courtois Azpi - Luiz - Cahill Moses - Kante - Matic - Alonso Pedro - Costa - Hazard

Surprise of the season so far. Has excellent attitude and is repaying Conte's faith big time.

I just love this man.
-
One game on the bench and everybody is talking about it. Why?
-
You are forgetting that Courtois was in brilliant form when the decision was made and he'd just established himself as the most promising goalkeeper in the world in Atletico. Majority of the people agreed with the decision, Cech wasn't performing better and was in decline.

One year less on the contract, one year older means we would have to pay less anyway. Nainggolan with Kante would be immense, we could play 4-4-2 or 3 at the back without having to worry about our mid lane.

@Jim please fix tapatalk I get push notifications when somebody likes, mentions or quotes, but the forum will not open.

Not only his tackling, but Kante was basically fulfilling his and Cesc's role, his passing was better than I could have imagined.

Boring performance? Created little? Dude, be HAPPY that we won by two goals and conceded none, Ivanovic was dropped(!!!!). What else do you want at this stage?
-
Kante was immense.
-
Wow that is just shocking

Nothing? Please explain. Were you not celebrating when he made tactical changes and we won games coming from behind? Would this have happened last season in your opinion? The club failed in the market window, he is managing the same lot who failed miserably last season. This season is a write off, give him the players he needs and we will see more signs than "nothing".

Courtois Dave - Luiz - Terry/Brana - Alonso Moses - Fabregas - Kante - Hazard Costa - Batman
-
Those targets are in line with the recent rumours that the club is looking for a HG replacement for Cahill. Ideally they'd be 4th options. Christensen - Zouma - Luiz - Gibson/Keane looks decent enough, though lacking in experience bar Luiz.
-
Don't agree with the last part, the club was making some great signings for the future but then hired the least competent coach to manage that bunch. Buying a 35-year old Eto'o and ousting Lukaku for him and Torres was a sign of things to come. Selling KDB in favour of Schürrle and then selling Schürrle in favour of Salah and then selling Salah in favour of Cuadrado and then loaning Cuadrado for 4 years and signing Pedro is the perfect example of how many years we have been set back when we were all set up for the future. We ended up with Pedro as an indirect replacement to De Bruyne, let that sink in for a moment to realize just how badly we fucked up and I attribute that criminal change in transfer policy to two guilty parties - Jose Mourinho and the board for allowing him too much control.

Jose Mourinho: the players who crossed Man Utd manager and what happened next Interesting read.
-
I'm surprised it has started because it is Man United afterall, everybody's darling. Guess clicks generated by using Mourinho's name outweighs their love for red.

Where does this information come from? Or is this an opinion?

Only reason Cahill is playing is because two superior defenders are injured, we have no one else to field. Cahill is not bad as a 3rd or 4th choice, but I cannot wait for Zouma to get fit, different level. Main points taken from the game: 1) Alonso must play because he's the only senior LB in our squad, Azpilicueta isn't one. Filipe's sale stings to this day, we would have been better off keeping him than downgrading to Baba and Alonso, but whoever plays there is still an upgrade over what we did last season (playing a dinosaur who lacks technique, cannot cross or run together with a player who is only good defensively on the other side). Alonso is tall too, so no excuses there. 2) Hazard and Costa up their game with Fabregas. Our only intelligent midfielder needs to play, keep Matic and Kante behind him. 3) Matic earned the right to retain his place, partly due to lack of serious alternatives to accomodate Fabregas and partly thanks to his good performance. 4) Luiz is our best CB, an undisputed starter who offers us something completely else. He seems more composed and intelligent than the last time he was here. He acts as our deep playmaker when we are lacking one. Missed his desire and determination since he left. 5) Moses, take a bow son. Plays with incredible drive and determination, clearly his words of gratitude towards Conte were not empty and is eager to earn the trust he's been shown. Based on his performances, he should be given more starts at RW on merit. Good technique, gives defenders a headache because he doesn't look to be a one-trick pony. 6) Chalobah looks good. Should be considered as a replacement to Mikel. In contrast I am worried about RLC's Chelsea career under Conte. At least one of Chalobah, RLC or Baker needs to make it here... they are the most promising academy graduates we've had in a while and what better time to do it than during a rebuilding phase?

Exactly the team I want to see.
-
Looks good though I worry about that midfield. Pedro and Moses will have to work overtime to compensate some of the obvious deficiencies in mid lane. Excited about Batman. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Oh man we'd get so drenched with this line-up. Mikel and Fabregas as midfield two, two static poles would be quicker and more mobile than them.

It doesn't bother me how many pages some thread gets, it's the content (i.e. the general outcry that Conte is a fraud after his first defeat, fuck me silly what my eyes have to see on here). I want to be able to talk and read Chelsea somewhere, TalkChelsea isn't the place anymore, but I don't want to leave because of my long history here. Anyway, whatever, I will not discuss this any further, I believe most of you are familiar with my views already.

Reading this topic and the Liverpool post-match one I remembered why I have lost most of my interest in actively participating and reading this forum. Many people are very stupid, I cannot stand it anymore. I will not elaborate what I mean by this or name any names, but the level of ignorance is getting unbearable. Quantity has clearly overrun quality in this community.
