We have a working system in place, buying Verratti would mean we'd need to change the system to accomodate one player. And the success we've been having with 3-4-3 there is reason to suspect that this isn't a temporary solution anymore. If that's the case and Conte has the same idea, then I have my doubts on Verratti fitting the team and the system. However in a 3-5-2 Pirlo role he'd be perfect, but that would shuffle up the rest of the team and the entire tactics.

Don't want to sound like Mourinho, but height would be an issue. In this formation with Kante his partner and Azpilicueta behind them we'd struggle on 2nd floor. Changes in formation and personnel would be needed, any thoughts on how to accomodate him?

Watched the analysis on Sky and even Leon Osman said that when he was at Everton they wanted to keep him as far away from their own box as possible. He had the option to bring on an actual defender in Bailly to bring more physicality or Blind to defend through controlling the ball, but as we all know by now Mou's fetish for tall clumsy players is his downfall. Dude, maybe ease up on the insults about his height? Surely you can come up with something better to humiliate that sack of shit? I'm saying that because he's my height and I've been mocked about it too, not cool. And FYI, 1.73m is not as extremely short as you make it out to be, it's only the low end of average. This feeling of entitlement and superiority that people have, who are above average in something, sickens me.

You can argue all those sacks were justified in hindsight. Conte is the first time since Jose's first time it feels like we have a solid plan going forward. Others might have had their plans (AVB for example), but it all turned sour quickly. Conte is giving us the identity and philosophy we've been waiting for forever. Don't think he will be going anywhere soon.

So before the Tottenham game we were always taking the lead and finishing teams off early, we didn't know how the team would cope going behind first. Now we know, two major tests passed with the boys showing mental toughness we all hoped to see. Next test will be after we inevitably lose, how will the guys pick themselves up... I don't know about you guys, but I'm not even worried about that. I've seen enough of Conte's and the players' resilience to overcome any obstacle. We can afford to lose some, others will lose too as perfectly demonstrated today, but I have faith in the whole team to dust themselves off and carry on with their Hard Work™. At this point I seriously believe only an injury crisis can stop us from winning the league.

One other thing I love about that goal is how after Fabregas released the ball to Alonso he pointed him to kick it forward. Cesc pulling strings even without the ball, amazing team play and understanding.
