  1. Remember when Demba Ba was going to Arsenal? Watch this drag on for months before, at the last minute, Mourinho forces Cech on loan somewhere in Europe.
  2. I'm not a doctor, I don't know if him being a triplet affects his body condition. But the fact of the matter is he struggles with repetitive, niggling injuries, that are extremely debilitating for a goalkeeper. Go and research cricket wicketkeeper injuries for more details.
  3. Cahill was indecisive. It was a defensive error and he played his part. Played the striker onside, did he not? Didn't read the turn in play.
  4. Repetitive injuries to his right calf and repeated surgery on his left elbow for what is otherwise known as tennis elbow. He is an "old" 33 year old, I doubt he'll be playing into his 40s like Schwarzer. Late 30s at a push, I predict.
  5. I hate all three of them I'm sure I'll grow to like them by the end of the season, anything with a Chelsea badge is wearable. I hated the 11/12 home kit and then we won the UCL...
  6. I banned you for not voting for me in the other topic. I've unbanned you after this.
  7. I'm making a point in reference to your own. "People are forgetting who we bought Fabregas from". Yes, Barcelona. But he was never really a Barcelona player. He's a guy with Premier League footballing DNA. No wonder why he's had such an incredible impact for us and made next to none over in Spain. It would be like taking another excellent Premier League midfielder in Lampard or Gerrard and expecting either of them to adapt to tika-taka after years of Premier League football. It wouldn't work.
  8. West Brom, Sunderland and Newcastle in for him. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/west-brom-patrick-bamford-chelsea-9438713
  9. Imagine those two in a genuine 4-4-2. Matic and Cesc holding, with width supplied from Hazard and Willian. Balls into feet to link in the final third with Costa; balls in the air for Falcao to attack (despite his size he is still a phenomenal aerial player). An excellent, genuine "Plan B" against, as you say, the more stubborn teams who are happy to sit deep and give us a lot of time and space when in possession. As for the cost, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Almost very source I've identified has suggested it will be a loan deal. If he's useless, it'll have cost us next to nothing. If he does a half decent job but doesn't warrant the price suggested in the follow-up fee, as United demonstrated, we aren't beholden to anything and can always negotiate a cheaper deal (potentially a cash-plus-player transaction; Mikel may well become useful for something ). We can't lose out with this transfer, IMO. His loan fee will be around £3-5 million, I guess, which is what United paid. Can't go wrong with that. More exceptional manipulation of the transfer market by the club.
  10. Agreed on this first part, but the great thing about potential is that it is limitless, and Happy has precisely the correct mixture of hard work and determination to push himself far. Its impossible to say at this stage who will be better out of Zouma and Varana, but right now, yes, of course, Varane is the more adept footballer.
  11. Sky Sports "sources" saying that we, quite rightly, won't sell Luis for anything less than the £15.8 million we invested in his transfer.
  12. But Cesc is an Arsenal player who went and played for Barcelona. He has Arsenal footballing DNA, not Barcelona footballing DNA. Regardless of the years he spent there as a kid.
  13. Which is my point. The players can't be registered until Wed 1 July; so whilst you can sign players, if you were to play a mid-June friendly, for instance, they couldn't take part.
  14. Not officially. The Premier League allows clubs to announce signings throughout June, but a player's registration cannot be officially transferred until July 1.
  15. Why would a world class striker come and be back-up to another world class striker? He left Madrid because he was fed up of being second fiddle to Benzema, no way would he come here to be second fiddle to an even better forward.
  16. More injuries that Torres goals for Chelsea. Actually that isn't that impressive.
  17. If United or City pip us to the title next season it will take something extraordinary, unless they both spend £150 million they won't be able to compete. But don't get me wrong, I understand your viewpoint, I just think people are expecting from too much from Fabregas. That being said, this was his "bedding in" period; he may well up his consistency levels next season.
  18. 1st of July is when it opens mate!
  19. Jose Mourinho has dropped the biggest hint yet that Chelsea may be interested in signing Colombia international Radamel Falcao. The champions are somewhat short on firepower after Didier Drogba was released at the end of his short-term contract at the end of May, with Falcao reportedly a prime target. The former Porto man spent last season on loan from Monaco at Manchester United, but failed to impress after scoring only four times in 26 Premier League appearances. But Mourinho, speaking as if Falcao was already his player, has promised to reignite the fuse of the Colombian star, who famously scored a hat-trick for Atletico Madrid against the Blues in the 2012 UEFA Super Cup. ‘If I can help Falcao reach his level again, I will do it', Mourinho was claimed to have said on DirecTV Sports on Wednesday. 'It hurts me that people in England think that the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United'. Sources have suggested that, for the second successive season, Chelsea will raid their relegated neighbours Queens Park Rangers and make a move for English forward Charlie Austin, who netted seventeen times in the league alone last term, but Falcao appears to be Mourinho's number one striking option. Falcao is away in Chile with Colombia for the Copa America which starts on Friday and is future is set to be resolved by next month at the latest. It is reported that Mourinho will make a loan move for Falcao at first, with the option to buy at a later date. United passed on an option to make his short-term agreement into a permanent £50million transfer, paving the way for Mourinho to make a move. Would Falcao be a good choice for Chelsea? Have your say!
  20. When we only have one other striker, why would we sell someone for less than we signed him for, 10 months ago? Furthermore, I highly doubt West Ham have offered anything considering the transfer window isn't open.
  21. Indeed. He's had an excellent season with the youth sides and his performance against the Thailand side with the first team has properly put him on the radar. I, for one, just like his hair.
  22. If he performs next season in identical fashion to how he did this season, I'll be more than satisfied. Different players.
  23. I'll be absolutely heartbroken if he goes to Arsenal, I'd rather him go to United.
