  1. If he didn't have homegrown status, Mikel would be out of here by now.
  2. United are making some very good, very sensible signings. That being said, they still need to address their woeful defence.
  3. Thank you Manchester City! Bullet successfully dodged.
  4. Some of you lot are like spoiled children.
  5. No, they're (mostly) awful as well Not any more, sadly, but I coach at a good level.
  6. His new gloves are fucking hideous, in fact the entire adidas glove range for 2015/16 is disgusting. Never ever thought I'd swap glove brands again (I wore Lotto exclusively until 2008; swapped to adidas in 2008 and have been playing and coaching in various version of adidas Predator gloves since then), but look at these monstrosities: Utterly vile, it looks as if Spiderman designed these while fucked on ketamine. How can they have gone from this to that in the space of six months? Shocking. Bring back the old Response Pros from 2008-12. They were fucking proper gloves. These were my all-time favourite pair (obviously Cech wore them...), the contact maximiser cut was revolutionary for goalkeeper gloves - yet they still looked absolutely boss. The old 2008 model were especially fantastic, the grip was incredible.
  7. Number 33 looks so wrong on him. Hope it's an indication of how many games it takes to get his first clean sheet
  8. "Mint green", "turquoise blue". Have a fucking word.
  9. UEFA Champions League, FA Community Shield and FA Cup winners 2014/15. In all seriousness, any old trophy would do for me. As long as we're top two in the PL, do better in the CL (even quarter-finals for me wouldn't be all that bad, depends on the draw, though), and win one of the domestic cups I'd be delighted. Would love to win the Community Shield as well, a Wembley final is a Wembley final.
  10. Homegrown quality, as well. This could be our most sensible signing in years.
  11. Love it. On the other hand, I utterly loathe the arbitrary red stripe on the away kit. It ruins what is otherwise a very nice shirt.
  12. Relax, it'll be confirmed soon. There's absolutely no rush.
  13. All three of last season's kits were cool, I think. Being successful in them always helps. The away kit (the yellow) was fantastic, possibly my favourite away shirt from adidas, a certain 10/10. The third kit was nice as well, I hated it at first but having purchased it recently, I've grown to love it. That's an 8/10 strip. The home shirt was a bit placid, I agree, but iconic after winning a double in it. That makes it a 7/10 minimum.
  14. It'll probably be Begovic with the new GK shirt, if anyone!
  15. The Daily Star and The Mirror are today both reporting that Chelsea manager José Mourinho has made a £20 million bid for Real Madrid star Isco. Using this bonus code for bet365 you can find odds on him playing for Chelsea next season. The young Spaniard, who moved to the European giants from Malaga shortly after the Special One returned to Stamford Bridge, is attracting attention from the West London outfit, and rivals Manchester City. Isco, 23, received a fair amount of flack for his performances at the Bernabeu last season, but aside from minor grumblings - overall, he is happy with his role in the team. But Madrid boss Rafa Benitez sees him as part of his plans and does not want to let him leave this summer, and has promptly snubbed the Blues' £20 million offer. In other transfer news, Chelsea have been linked with Mario Gotze, whose agent slammed Bayern Munich’s management team this week. The World Cup star could move for as much as £50 million this summer after failing to secure a starting berth in the Bayern side last season after the arrival of Xabi Alonso. Meanwhile, Chelsea youngster Izzy Brown is poised for a loan move to Vitesse Arnhem. The forward made his Premier League debut for the Blues in the 3-0 loss at West Brom in May Click here to view the article
  16. Chelsea have confirmed that their 2015/16 home kit will be revealed next week (16 July). The all-blue strip, the first under the club's current partnership with Yokohama Tyres, will feature a red and white trim and a button-up collar. Meanwhile the club's primary goalkeeper kit next term has been confirmed as being green, with last season's orange design retained as a back-up. The away shirt, as predicted will be white, and may be similar to this mock-up design which many sites are reporting as being the final product. The kits are all available for pre-order ahead of next week's reveal.
  17. This is why I reserved judgement whilst looking at the fakes, the final product always looks so much nicer. I have to say that the home kits in 12/13 and 13/14 were perfect. The 11/12 and 14/15 kits will always be iconic because of the success we had in them, though. So, after four years of what we can call "good" kits, its nice to see that this looks a continuation in that trend. I hope the away kits aren't the same templates as the ones we've seen.
  18. If a team is willing to pay that, then I wouldn't mind at all, in truth.
  19. Helped us do this as well, which I'll always be grateful for:
  20. Stats don't say much, in truth. If we're going by stats then Harry Kane is the best player in the history of world football. Falcao will surprise people. The fact there is next to no expectation for him to deal with is a massive positive.
  21. Luis is undoubtedly more offensive-orientated than Azpilicueta but I have to agree with Choulo that, other than his tendency to whip more crosses into the penalty area and take up slightly more aggressive positions, Luis' attacking abilities are grossly exaggerated. I would certainly mark Ivanovic as being far superior offensively in the system that we play. Okay, Hazard and Luis link up a lot better than how Hazard links up with Dave, but then again, with Luis in the team we are far weaker defensively. Azpi doesn't play left-back for the sake of it - he covers Terry's deficiencies, whilst Terry covers the deficiencies of Cahill and Ivanovic. But that's because Mourinho gifts Ivanovic a lot of freedom, and his goalscoring return alone indicates his offensive capabilities which are critical to our style of play. There is this big myth that Azpilicueta is the better defensive full-back and than Luis is a markedly better attacking alternative. I think Azpilicueta is, by some distance, the better all-rounder of the two. Mourinho clearly agrees, which is why Luis was mainly a substitute for most of the season. Azpilicueta does a better job for the team, it has to be conceded. Personally I like Filipe and I feel he has done a good job, in general, when he's played, but Azpi is undoubtedly - in my mind - superior in almost every conceivable way.
  22. He needs to stop sharing Arsenal stuff on Facebook and Twitter, otherwise I'm unfollowing him!
  23. That's what my parents always say to me. I think they're getting at something but I can't quite put my finger on it.
