  1. Surprised there isn't a thread for this little man, especially after how well he acquitted himself on Saturday. He's had a very good season within the youth set-up, and has an incredibly mature and considered style of play which is made all the more impressive by his tender years. Very inventive and creative - is he the best-kept secret of our academy right now? Absolutely integral in the Youth Cup/UEFA Youth League victories.
  2. Not really but I need some gratification. Gonna scrap that one as well, no deserving candidates for such an award this season IMO.
  3. Yep Would be pretty shit for most because only me and Jim will be in it this year then
  4. The current categories: Best football knowledgeBest general knowledgeBest newcomerFunniest forumerMost-liked forumerWisest forumerMost controversialBiggest contributorMost analytical/thought-provokingMost helpful memberMember of the Year Changes to the above: The British Member of the Year award has been scrapped. Instead, this award will be determined by a 1), 2), 3) placing system allowing us to determine an overall winner. The Best Article Writer award has also been scrapped. Article writers can now be commended in the Best Football Knowledge category. The Best Staff Member award has been changed to the Most Helpful Member award - meaning staff can still be recognised for their contributions to the forum, but at the same time opening up the floor to members who are particularly helpful and accommodating to newer members on TalkChelsea. The Best Graphics and Videos Producer award has been scrapped due to too few members producing any consistent degree of videos/graphics. Graphics producers/video editors can be commended with the Biggest Contributor award, instead.A Most Analytical/Thought-Provoking Member award has been added. Voting Process: This thread will be left open until 2100 BST on Wednesday 3 June for suggestions for additional awards/amendments to current categories.Nominations threads will then be opened, and scheduled to close at 2100 BST on Monday 8 June. The polls will be published on Tuesday 9 June, and will remain open to the public vote until 2100 BST on Sunday 14 June. The polls will then temporarily be moved to the Staff Room, making them private to allow me to rig them to allow me to finalise the winners. The people I want to win deserving victors will then be announced at some point on Monday 15 June.
  5. I like the idea of that. What would you say, perhaps three or four people inducted into it every six months or so?
  6. An inch or two doesn't matter... as my ex-girlfriend used to tell me
  7. Well said B. Some people must have missed the queue when the sense of humour bus was handing out doses of fun.
  8. Beautiful... but just you wait until the Grand Stade d'OL is opened. That is what you call a stadium, looks stunning already and it's only half built. That and the Velodrome are just something else.
  9. By that do you mean yourself, yourself, yourself and yourself? I, like the other 70,000 fans on Eel Brook Common on Monday, found it great fun.
  10. Precisely. Was... Drogba Bertrand - Mata - Kalou ...good enough to win the CL? Yes it fucking was.
  11. Let's see what they look like on the players, however.
  12. Would make sense, doesn't the Samsung deal run until June 30th? Ebay!
  13. Remember when We Hate Scouse made us all buy those Mata 10 away kits last season? Look what I did to mine...
  14. For years I've wanted a royal blue shirt with dark blue trim. It would look delicious. But yes, something plain, simple. Ignore the yellow and the stripes, but something like this: Obviously royal blue for the main body, the darker blue on the trim.
  15. I know a few northern Englishmen who'd qualify for that, so there's no guarantee a Scot would even have that in the bag
  16. In your opinion. I've seen nothing this season to suggest we'll be better off with Courtois in goal, as opposed to Petr. In fact, in the short term, I think we might actually be worse off, but time will tell.
  17. Exactly. No red card: Red card: In the aftermath of Barnes' tackle, Matic pushes the player who nearly broke his leg over and gets a red. Yesterday, Fletcher runs over to Fabregas, forcefully pushes him and squares up to him and gets a yellow. Absolute bullshit.
  18. I agree. Plus Sunderland will need a result. They won't get anything at Arsenal so their only hope is to steal a point at the Bridge and hope for the best. This will be as tough or an even tougher game than the recent trip to Arsenal, for sure.
  19. We'll have to agree to disagree. But as a goalkeeper coach, if one of my 8 year olds were beaten at the front post so easily I'd rip them a new one... let alone a Premier League goalkeeper. Very disappointing. Cech let in a poor shot at his near post vs PSG last season and got his criticism for it; Courtois deserves to be similarly reprimanded for two poor goals he ought to have stopped having gotten a hand to each.
  20. He's not "obviously" better than Thibaut. I maintain the stance I adopted 18 months ago and got ridiculed for: Cech is very, very, very slightly the better of the two goalkeepers at the moment, but Courtois has ten years on him. By the time Thibaut is 33 he could have smashed every record Petr ever set. If Cech is a 9.5/10 goalkeeper then Courtois is a 9/10 goalkeeper - you have to give him the time and room to grow because he has the potential to be a certified 10/10.
  21. Do you hear those racist Munich fans shouting "Drogba in der zoo" when he's walking up to take the penalty? I did for a short while, followed by their deafening silence. Your city, your stadium, OUR CUP.
