  1. Fuck knows, hopefully somebody… Marseille wanted him in the summer IIRC? Or was talk of a move there anyway. Gonna say it. Shouldn’t of signed him in the first place. Was very very vocal about his signing for that fee particularly from day 1 when the links first came by. He had played 40 games in the PL…. and like with Maguire going to United from Leicester for a scary fee, they played us like they played United.
  2. But Villa being Villa, no doubt Emery will somehow manage and get something from those games despite the odds. They have 9 draws and 8 losses this season yet still sit 6th, 2 points behind, so based on how us and City have done this season, they will very much believe they have every opportunity. And why not? We still have got Fulham, Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle, Man United & Forest remaining. And after today, it’s very hard to know what to expect. Would anyone actually be surprised if we draw or lose at either/both Fulham and Everton? The most likely winnable games for us? Then who knows what happens with the Liverpool, Newcastle, Man United & Forest games.
  3. Still not good enough for an elite club which is what we should be aspiring to be. Although a lot of our signings clearly aren’t.
  4. This season if we do finish top 4, will very much be like the first season under Lampard. Got going and were right in amongst it, almost made a cunt of it and then finally got over the line. Not to be celebrated, big changes will be required this summer to kick on irrespective of if we do or don’t get the CL. Manager included.
  5. Us finishing outside the CL though would surely mean those 2 fannies who are the co-sporting directors and Maresca would have to be replaced. Which will need to happen sooner than later anyway. If we get top 4 then Boehly & Eghbali will actually think we have made progress…..
  6. It could be ok yet…. we may not qualify 😂 Not entirely convinced we will be 100% finishing in the CL spaces. Forest got a good win v United to consolidate their position in the top 4 and Newcastle, City, Brighton and even Fulham are in very close enough proximity to make it interesting.
  7. Who’d of thought? And now, we are lumbered with him 😂 You don’t burn through spells at as many big teams by his age if you are any good. But yep, another one we shouldn’t have signed. Even the first time round on loan. Ludicrous.
  8. The PSR machine will sell him. Wait and see. £20-25m and he will be forced to leave only to be replaced by another foreign player of the same age bracket for double the price and half the ability. Dreading the summer window already because it is going to be another shitshow. I mean Baleba links already happening… ok yes looks a good player but what was the point in signing all of Caicedo, Lavia, Ugochuwku, Santos, Amougou & Essugo if we go drop another £100m+ on another more defensively minded midfielder (would be fair to say that regarding him)? Just baffling this club is littered with fucking morons making big decisions from top to bottom.
  9. Worst thing is half of those players, they were bought by the two co sporting directors…. When are they going to be held accountable? And then look again at the Sancho situation. Or Mudryk. Honestly it is ridiculous and people wonder why we are in such a dire state with regards to club-fan harmony, everything is self inflicted 🙄
  10. Vini Jr? Here? Why on earth would he leave Madrid to come here 😂 Plus obviously we would be interested, who wouldn’t but still talk about a non starter from the get go….
  11. Dembele has always been on another level in terms of ability compared to both Sancho & Felix. Not even remotely close. His only downfall was fitness and life style choices but both of those issues have been long behind him for several seasons now. Not having it regarding the manager, irrespective of if it was Poch, Maresca or whoever else, Felix looks set to be up for sale again after having struggled to make an impact in Italy to go with his spell here and the majority of his time in Spain barring maybe 18-24 months. No top top manager would sign him now. Sancho also is just average, clearly can see why Ten Haag was so keen to ostracise him from Man United. Again, if we don’t sign him - who else is really going to want him? United won’t want him back either.
  12. Another ridiculous signing like Felix. Although for people (two players who have never really got going/improved in the past 3-4 years) £25m and £42m were deemed good deals. Now if there wasn’t already significant proof in the pudding that those pair of fuckwits co sporting directors are hopeless, then here is another example. They should resign in the summer. Or be pushed out. Either way, Sancho, Felix, KDH, Lavia (whats going on with him btw £55m and hes probably played 10 games in 2 seasons), Jorgensen, Sanchez, Mudryk, Tosin, Disasi… the list could go on and on too.
  13. Yep Maresca won’t be here past the summer. Awful football.
  14. Great let’s put him on the bench for no reason….. leave him out the squad and put a youngster or Donkey-Hall on the bench instead. No doubt Reece wont play as he played mid week too so we won’t be short for subs. Only positive going into this match is Leicester are like Southampton, absolutely rotten. So we may get more than 0 shots on target in the first half against them 😂 Wait and see they probably pull out a prime 04-05 Chelsea defensive performance now and nick a goal on the counter.
  15. Absolutely not. There was many many many more than just a few. But they know how daft they look now. Even getting Felix for Gallagher was conceived as a great deal by many…. again, how stupid did that move turn out? The manager didn’t even want him and he is now at his 3rd big club in about 5 seasons (2 spells here). Clearly an issue there. Not to mention the chance of a hit we will take with a sale so the whole PSR/FFP shit around that sale and buying Felix will probably end up undoing itself. Unless Milan are all of a sudden extremely flush and want to give us £42m+ Absolutely clear that CG could of had a good role here. Not even sure how folk could deny it after the season with Poch too. Still don’t get that if Maresca was as good a coach as he was to be perceived, why couldn’t he have coached CG into a better player in the way Simeone looks to have done also as well as how Poch improved him? Precisely but seems to he a lot of back tracking and that it wasn’t that. Least he can run more than 5 yards without being out of breath too! Enzo Fernandez looks like he’s towing a static caravan still.
  16. Was a lot of folk on the board who thought he was an upgrade on Conor…. The guy is absolutely shite
  17. If he is untouchable then we are fucked. Still not getting enough positivity out of that midfield and attack. 0 shots on target in the first half against Copenhagen is abysmal. Then what 2 on target out of 5 in the second half after bringing on the likes of Nkunku, Enzo Fernandez, with the likes of Cole on as well? Sarri’s style of play was actually a lot better, for me anyway. Our ability to build up, the patterns of play, certain rotations and combinations were much much better in the first two thirds of the pitch. Ok in attack we were still a little bit short but I felt that we were pretty good in most aspects. With Maresca, it is the opposite. Was the same thing with Poch too. Under pressure we are far too sloppy. And when these midfielders have the ball with Maresca it is 75% of the time very laboured, a lot more sideways and backwards passes than trying to at least look forward or break the lines. Half the issues with us playing against low blocks is that we are far too slow and ponderous at getting the ball into the final third. Then we have too much inexperience and inconsistency with decision making. The games we have played with a lot more direct, quick, transitions with Enzo, we were more exciting and scored more goals…. Which was the same with Poch.
  18. Is the Copenhagen GK on loan from us? How the fucks he not saved that? Didn’t look that far away from him 🤣 Anyway yeah hopefully kick on now… surely to fuck
  19. Actually embarrassing how bad we are in the final third and even middle of the park with the ball. Like everything is so so slow. No penetration at all, repeatedly seeing players receiving the ball and straight away you can see from their body position the intention is always going to be to play sideways and backwards…. their not even looking forward or on the half turn… piss poor. People moaned about Sarri’s football but fuck me this is 100 times worse than that because there is no pattern or ability to play through a press and get in the final third. Maresca has to go, even if we make top 4, he is not achieving anything. 0 shots on target.
  20. I think Delap has got a limited ceiling als o - for pretty similar reasons. His technique and maybe a bit of his footballing understanding of the game. I am 90% convinced he will struggle next season if Ipswich stay up as teams will have figured him out - he is a tad one dimensional, I don’t think he has that little bit of subtly to get himself a half yard in moments that are extremely tight in and around the box like the guys who go on to be the top strikers do. Not that he cannot develop those aspects a bit more but I get the feeling that he isn’t really going to take the technical side of his game to that next level to become a more complete player. Maybe he does but for me, I think his rise is a bit similar to Ross Barkley’s in all honesty, clearly different positions but Barkley was another guy who excelled at youth level and when he initially started at Everton but once teams realised how to cope with him and stop him imposing himself on games with his physicality, he looked a very very ordinary player. I get folk may pile on and say well look at Haaland for City technically he isn’t that great but he tends to scores between 35-45 goals a season. But that guy is a rarity. I feel Isak could potentially be a good option but I don’t think we would be even remotely close to his top 5 choices never mind his 1st. Another project attacker isn’t going to do us or the manager any favours and it is absolutely clear that some more reliable output from attackers is going to be key to any real progress being made in the coming seasons.
  21. Bit skeptical about how good he will be but yeah, there is a potentially half decent player in there with the right role and coaching. Why he wanted to stay here and be like the 7th or 8th choice CM was beyond me though. Even more so after Donkey-Hall was signed. Still, not sure what sort of player he will be, Maresca used him deeper here but he played further up at Leicester. Not so sure about the other loan he had but yeah, seemed a daft signing when the club had a hard on for Caicedo & Lavia for about 3 years.
  22. Links have sort of gone cold but more and more I see Gyokores play, the less excited I am at the prospect of signing him. A lot of the goals he scores, the defending is absolutely pitiful. Like the majority of them are all similar…. he isn’t going to get 30+ metres to run in behind the majority of teams in the PL because the majority of them defend in a mid/low block against us 🤣
  23. Fully agree with all this. And even then, its even more alarming that all of the best combinations/rotations seem to happen in the first and middle thirds when we are building up. In attack the last 2/3 months it just seems to be give it to Cole and hope he will do something (or like multiple occasions he will take like 10/11 touches trying to beat 1 or 2 players, go back and pass it 3 yards sideways which he could have done without the increasing amount of touches)… When we were a bit more direct and hitting teams on transition earlier in the season we were killing them. Yes finishing still an issue the but chance creation and win rate was much much higher. But this was also the same under Poch last season, when we were a bit more direct and aggressive with our attacking transitions, we looked a better team, as opposed to trying to break teams down more patiently.
  24. I thought that Fernandez and Mudryk were signings wanted specifically by Boehly&Eghbali… Do believe Gusto, Nkunku, Badiashile perhaps being more in line with Vivell but even then, it is widely reported we placed him on gardening leave due to Boehly/Eghbali/Clownlake giving the 2 clowns we have as co sporting directors more senior roles and responsibility? Not sure on the timeline but there was definitely some sort of clash of appointments with him, Joe Sheilds and the 2 numpties. All in all, if he gets the recruitment there more in line with what he did at Leipzig, perhaps he will be more successful.
