I see this little gurning cunt has his excuse already if we lose the tinpot European cup “Betis got another 48 hrs to prepare” Well if he had managed to do his job and get several results against the lower league teams like Ipswich, Wolves, Leicester, whoever else… we wouldn’t be relying on our last game of the season in the league and he could have used a dead rubber 11 for a few games to get folk some minutes and preserve a lot of players for the final… like Big Ange did across at Spuds (who have now won something before we have with these new owners). He can moan all he wants about this final but ultimately He’s gurning about something La Liga have done for years with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico & Sevilla when it comes to European semi finals/final games. As if its only something they’ve done for this game. He must be feeling the heat.. good… he has a lot to be held accountable for if we end up back in the Conference or even only the Europa League.

Yep every GK we have needs to go. Penders excluded maybe but still not sure what happens with him in 2-3 years. Baffles me that probably, our best GK was on loan at Bournemouth, whilst we suffered Sanchez and Jorgensen - whilst Maresca blew smoke up Sanchez’s arse for months and months when he was playing shite.
-
If Madrid offer to pay what we paid or more, sell him. He has improved this season but was never worth the fee we paid and never will be. Too much of a passenger without the ball for the PL. Less pace and slower tempo in La Liga so would suit him better.

Oshimen is apparently going to be around €75m if we go by the release clause. So they say. Given Gyokeres apparently had anything ranging from €80-100m price tag in January and they are talking about £60-65m in the summer now, its not hugely different and given he will have a pick of clubs (like most of the CFs available), wages will be hard to guess. Sesko is also hard to say if he would be more affordable either - he has 3 different release clauses apparently, one thats in play just now at €75m, two that come into play in the summer. €60m and €80m euros depending on what he has achieved this season IIRC so not a given we will save on the fee. Again, will have options, so wages be difficult to say. Cunha is going to United for £62.5m and he isn’t even an out and out striker so firstly, not really what we need and secondly, not really that much cheaper is it? Delap also going there by sounds of it. We won’t win fuck all by penny pinching on fees & salaries, players like Liam Delap with the aim of him being a top CF in 3 or 4 years. We need players who can do it now - we have enough 3 or 4 year projects already. I mean we will not be top choices in the running for Isak, Gyokeres & Sesko probably - if we got any of those 3 I’d be surprised so we may as well rule them out anyway. Even Oshimen, likely will be other interest if he’s reigned the wage demands in a bit which I think he will have.
-
Are Delap, Ekitike, Cunha really better than Oshimen though? Like really? Even Joao Pedro, Sesko, David at a push (probably be closest in all fairness barring Isak as his record in France is impressive). Lot of them have all have had 1 breakthrough season at a good standard. Maybe unfair for some of them also but some of them have played already for a good time too. David is a bit different maybe but again - direct comparison, hard to say for sure if he is that much better or better than Oshimen at all. Also which Alvarez? Julian Alvarez? He is the only top CF option of that name and he will not be moving a year after going to Spain…. Oshimen last 5 seasons: 35, 17, 31, 18, 10 goals. Delap last 3 seasons (only played 3 seasons of mens football really): 12, 8, 4 goals. Ekitike last 5 seasons: 22, 4, 4, 11, 3 goals. Joao Pedro last 5 seasons: 10, 20, 11, 4, 9 goals. David last 5 seasons: 25, 26, 26, 19, 13 goals. Cunha last 5 seasons: 17, 14, 2, 7, 8 goals. Sesko last 5 seasons: 21, 18, 18, 11, 21 goals. Jury will be out on Gyokeres when he leaves Portugal. The standard of some the goals he scores are incredibly laughable. Like the defending is Sunday league and wouldn’t ever happen in PL, Bundesliga, Italy, France, Spain. Plus he wouldn’t be first big money CF to leave Portugal and really struggle - Darwin Nunez, Jackson Martinez for instance…. Oshimen big money and big wages but Isak will be the same, David will be the same wage wise as he will certainly have options as he’s on a free. Irrespective of who we go for, if we cheap out on a good CF this summer, it will be a stickler to any chance of making progression.

£100m and they can have him 😂 I think with VVD next to him though he’d look better but at the same time, he hasn’t come close to filling me with confidence the past 2 seasons. Potential is there - needs someone next to him to help him through the game, much more experienced and maybe if teams didn’t play through our midfield as easily too he and the others wouldn’t be so open/exposed at times. I think Harry Maguire, Casemiro & Bruno Fernandes played like 10 passes between them from their own half that literally took our whole midfield out of the game af times last night.

Aye Enzo speaks utter shite a lot of the time in his pressers. They alone are as annoying as watching the games a lot of the time - the guy isn’t for me and if the owners had any respect or real ambition for the club, he’d be told to buck up his ideas or already gone. I genuinely wonder if him and Arteta are trying to see who can come out with the most bullshit in pressers/post & pre-match’s in a season. Basically called out the fans in the stadium for conceding a goal a few weeks ago and now he’s saying to trust him, club will be moving in the right direction with him a few weeks later 😂

Again though Palmer cannot be the only one to carry the weight. He has been doing it for 18 months more or less before having an iffy spell the second half of this season. He has earned the right to have a few off days. He is needing a summer off to recharge for sure. And we need better quality attackers for sure. Likes of Pedro Neto, who I do like, but he is probably a very good squad player for most top clubs. Noni, Mudryk, Felix - all need to go. Nkunku as well will go. But we need quality attackers to compliment Cole. Reece with his crossing ability playing inverted/as a central midfield is a tragic loss to this side. He looks so average with Maresca’s system - like many players - like it eliminates the chance for him to do what he does exceptionally well, deliver crosses in the final third. He can pass the ball well etc but you don’t want him ticking over keeping possesion, you want him stretching the game and playing crosses because he has got exceptional delivery. Ok the assist comes in a slightly more central area but under Tuchel in particular how many great assists/chances did he create from wider areas? Fitness always his issue true enough so thats why questions will always be asked but when he's fit he has to play as a right back and play more as an out and out fullback for me. He is never going to cut it as an elite full back playing in that inverted role because it negates so much of what he brought to this side in the past.
-
Maresca post match interview brutal as ever. Sky interviewer singing off the same sheet as him too, young team, building for future bla bla bla. Boring
-
Why does Gusto go in with a 2 footed tackle… lucky man.
-
Reece James crossing the ball = goal. Something we never really see now because he spends 75% of his time playing as a CM/inverted FB. Sort it out Maresca.
-
Lucky thats not a booking. Keeper plays ball all day long. Attacking play been awful though. Enough for a penalty? After the GK played the ball? Behave 😂
-
Reece out for all of next season probably…..
-
If I’m Cole Palmer or Moises Caicedo I’m handing in a transfer request in the summer fuck playing in this steaming pile of shit next season. Neto, Noni, Mudryk…. Virtually 0 end product every time they get the ball. 0 shots on target.
-
Like when we signed Sidwell. Or Benayoun. Yep. And folk want to give Maresca a second season? Tactically we are miles off it as well. They play with wingbacks, its obvious, yet we don’t have a plan to stop their two 10s getting so much room and progressing the ball…
-
He is shite. Not cut out for top end of the PL. What do folk expect when you cheap out on quality players?
-
So easy. Every time they pass forward they seem to completely bypass our midfield… no pressure on the ball. Reece James is also finished if he is gonna be playing as an inverted RB. Just looks so shit there. United deserved the lead. Ok maybe not lucky as fuck though.
-
Madueke again showing that he is such a unintelligent footballer. Why mot square it to George? Who’s open? And Onside?
-
Colwill has been pretty poor for the best part of the last 2 full seasons though and needs someone who can come in and play at a high level to push him to improve so he can earn his place. Defensively he looks a bit off it and can be an easy target. I get he’s an academy player but if you’re not doing it, there can be absolutely no exceptions. I am surprised we haven’t seen more of Badiashile but he also has had injuries and performance issues. If we signed Guehi I reckon he’d come in and start in that LCB position. But has to be someone in their prime that comes in at GK, CB & CF - no more prospects.
-
Well a lot of match going fans won’t be happy, there is no connection with Maresca. At all. Hence the reaction the past months with poor results and his garbage pressers. Need to take drastic action and send these fucking idiot owners a message. Wonder how many season tickets will sell next season if we don’t get CL football in particular.
-
Not had that feeling since the first window under Boehly. And we likely will not ever again with these.
-
Would rather the club just disbanded than choose between those 2. Would rather the fat Spanish waiter returned in eithers place 🤣 Exactly. And that was after his quips about how we’ve not been finishing in the top 4 too in recent seasons. Then how CL wasn’t the goal then he walked that back. We should be top 4 comfortably but he has been a big reason as to why we aren’t. Its like Lampard’s first season, we were top 4 and sitting pretty then really nearly blew it. Only for it to be celebrated like it was a trophy despite having been numerous points clear at one stage earlier in the season. The exact same feeling with this chump. He’s at it.
-
Funny cause its probably true. Mental since February he has only completed a full 90 minutes a few times, one game was for England too. Hate to say it again but giving him the armband and a £250k 7 year deal is looking stupider and stupider each day. Barely on the pitch. Should be on pay as you play for that sort of dosh. Not looking forward to this game. United are plucky and will probably play out of their skin against us for some reason despite being pathetic for most of the season.
-
I think the thing with Sesko is they feel he is potentially going to be a top top level striker. Or thats how Red Bull see him. Whether or not it happens is a different story but his ceiling is way higher than Delap who is more of a throwback CF, his game isn’t very varied and once you take him out of the equation physically he really hasn’t got that bit of cuteness/cleverness to affect the game in other ways, which you need to be a top CF at a big club. Maybe it happens eventually but I think he will crash and burn at United. The thing is Jackson could probably of got over 20 PL goals last season if he wasn’t such a braindead footballer who could stay onside and finish the numerous easy chances he got. Probably the same this season. But he is a stupid footballer, poor finisher and thats why he will never be the main man for any top club with a shred of sense in the building. Which we don’t have. Hence why he is the number 1 CF for us.
-
From BBC isnt it? Yes because we faced a lot of good teams and put in a lot of good performances in on the way…. Maresca and the club are idiots if they think a Conference League win is signs of progress - we should of walked most games. Particularly when we have a £1bn squad and are playing teams from Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Kazakhstan with a 1/1000th of the budget we have. Even if we win it and he gets CL, he needs to go. Not only for that, tactically still don’t get why he has a £115m midfielder playing RB most weeks and one of the best RBs in Europe as a CM (when fit). Why not just play a 433 to get the MF guys in and use Reece as a RB with Cole as a RWer? Lack of tactical flexibility is ridiculous
