  1. Lampard saying Forrest are a threat at set pieces. So interestingly enough, we probably haven’t trained them all week.
  2. About time he did something good. If he raised the prices after this season though, he wouldn’t of lasted much longer lets be honest so hardly a surprise.
  3. Surely D Fofana and Hall going to play some minutes?
  4. Think crediting Lampard with identifying Silva would be a discredit to someone who has been one of the elite CBs for almost 15 years in Europe. Although perhaps he pushed for him when others wouldn’t have due to his age (I do think likes of Ancelotti, Conte, Mourinho would of made same move though if here at that moment). How nobody beat PSG to signing him from Milan in 2012 is beyond me - one of the best who’s played the game in the modern day for sure.
  5. Would keep him but wait and see somebody will sign him for 25-30m because we need to sell and cannot get rid of the likes of Loftus-Cheek, Ziyech, Pulisic due to their huge fucking wages.
  6. Keeping Jorginho to the summer and letting him go on a free would of been the best move - its been hinted at that some of the discussions in the dressing room that have gone on about how the clubs been run/the seasons gone etc were heavily focused on the sale of him to Arsenal. I mean I know we have to/need to sell players but do people think we were that desperate for 12m or whatever we got for Jorginho in January? Even if he was backing up Enzo, or playing with him. We are still lightweight in terms of quality in MF, other than Kante, Kova and Enzo. I mean if any of them were to have gotten a big big injury would Gallagher, Zakaria or Loftus-Cheek have really been suitably good enough to come in? In comparison to Jorginho? No. I mean how often have we seen Gallagher play and be abysmally off the pace and overawed since January? Kova if he wants a new challenge fair, but if its because we don’t want to give him a 3 + 1 year deal maybe - then it is stupid. Are we not reportedly going to give Kante a 2+1? Or a 3? Why not offer Kova a 3+1? Having him, Kante, Enzo and if we sign a 23-27 year old MF player - gives us a really good mix of experience and quality again. People are making out that there are a huge amount of top midfield players out there though when in reality, there really isn’t so I think for the club to be particularly interested in just letting Kova go is very strange and typically the same sort of approach we’ve become accustomed to with this new ownership. I would rather we focused on shifting Gallagher, Ruben and perhaps even Mount depending on what he, the club and Poch discuss first and foremost.
  7. Great comp but need more than 8 minutes to forget this nightmare season 😂
  8. Pure stupidity. Firstly - letting Jorginho go in January and potentially now Kovacic in the summer. Wait and see us drop 120m on Rice through desperation although for half the price he’s exactly what we need. Premium quality MF players are going to be an issue to find so selling someone like Kova, particularly to City or United who will offer more £ than Bayern, would be so Boehly-Eghbali retarded its out of this world. Also Emi Martinez no thanks - go and get a proper GK ffs. Not competent enough for a possession based team and also seems to be under the impression he is some sort of world class GK when in reality he was a bench warmer at several clubs for about 10 years.
  9. Gavi is basically a number 10 though no? I mean if he is to play as a more advanced MFer or on the sides like he has done with Spain, then I see why going after Gavi would be interesting. But as a direct alternative to a more traditional number 6/8, its a bit baffling We need someone who can play as a 6 or an 8 to compliment Enzo and can give the team a bit more defensively though. Particularly as Enzo for me, seems to be a bit of a liability with letting guys run off him when hes played next to Kovacic in particular and perhaps defensively isn’t best suited to sitting as a 6. Kante needs a successor if he leaves/good competitor if he stays. Rice not worth that money perhaps but someone who definitely can play both positions and offers that physicality we lack in midfield. Plus it possibly lets Enzo play 10-15 yards higher up the pitch - where you can see he is more comfortable IMO.
  10. Fuck me have we not sorted this deal for Poch yet? What are they waiting for? Christmas? We sacked Potter almost 5 weeks ago…. I get the whole getting it right approach but nearly 5 weeks now and Poch has been the favourite for at least 3 weeks - what are they waiting for? I know their saying search to end or working on contracts now but honestly its taken an absolute age.
  11. Yeah Kante wont play as a 6. Antonio Conte tried it years ago before eventually changing the system to 343. Then Lampard also tried it and it didn’t work.
  12. West Ham want £120m or £100m plus a player for Declan Rice this summer. Arsenal in pole position as it stands apparently. Us, United and Liverpool also in running.
  13. We’re not going down at least… its a start
  14. He was the only one who actually looked interested the other night. His profile is interesting but you can still see he is raw.
  15. Hes not even an average manager, he’s an extremely shite one. Calling Frank average would be an insult to the actual average managers out there.
  16. Neville spot on. 100%. Not wrong on one point he mentions although he didn’t go and mention Frank/Potter appointments being poor. Can’t even listen to Boehly’s interview, the guy is an absolute joke. Anyone thinking he can just turn it around all of a sudden and next season will be immediately better are dreaming. Theres only one way it gets better - Boehly and Eghbali leave football things alone for the foreseeable. Are their ego’s going to let this happen? I don’t know - I don’t think they are humble enough to admit their at fault for 90% of this. I mean as Gary Neville said, you don’t throw away all of a footballing infrastructure, medical team, physios, sports scientists etc away in the space of a year - pure arrogance saying its on them & throwing those to the wolves. Footballing suicide to change so much so soon.
  17. Yep. And if we need to raise so much for FFP to reinvest- its going to be a really tough window. Clubs will know giving us certain prices is going to directly contribute towards reinvestment so expect a strange window.
  18. It is hard to tell completely as I think most Jan signings would of known as you’ve said about not getting top 4 but I get the feeling it could really be anybody from someone who came in this summer or people who have been in the squad for a few seasons now. It mentions sources close to more experienced/senior guys too so it could be any of the likes of or a combination of a few from guys like Azpi, Silva, Kante, Kovacic, Mendy, Koulibaly, Ziyech who are maybe disillusioned with how things are. Even some of the summer signings maybe their thinking what the fuck have I got myself into? Who knows. I’d like to be a fly on the wall and see what is going on because its beyond ridiculous. Theres far far far too many questions and not enough answers from that article. I mean it’s obvious there are huge issues inside the dressing room and with the whole infrastructure of the club - theres no way we end up where we are and how we are here through just bad performances.
  19. Honestly I think if anybody thought Koulibaly and Sterling were coming here on those daft performance incentive contracts like all the young players we signed in January - then they would be dreaming 🤣 Imagine coming to Chelsea from Napoli or Man City as highly experienced, proven players for negotiations and being told you’d be getting a contract that has a 30% pay cut for CL qualification failure and a lot of incentives/bonuses based on progression. You’d laugh them out the room. And again now, any divide that may come from this - its solely on Boehly & Eghbali’s shoulders for radically changing their policy 6 months after doing what they’ve done. Even more proof which compounds their incompetency and lack of footballing know how.
  20. Whoever comes in has got a hell of a task. Its now being reported some players who signed huge deals have doubts & regrets due to the huge amount of changes they’ve seen this season. Particularly staff changes - not just managers and coaches but the other types of staff that have been moved on. Also Jorginho leaving mentioned as a huge blow to the dressing room as he was very popular, had great communication due to being multi lingual - but the majority of people on here were always blindsided by that because we were getting a 106m midfielder in his place… (yes he was needed to upgrade on him in the long term but his personality is clearly a huge part of his character). https://theathletic.com/4463389/2023/04/29/Chelsea-players-mood-pochettino/?amp=1 And there are still people defending Boehly & Eghbali.
  21. Hes not finished really - he’s just basically being asked to play as a number 10 for whatever fucking comical reason Frank has decided to try. Just fucking pure stupidity. I mean he played pretty well v Liverpool under Bruno I felt, in his actual position.
  22. So Glen Johnstone is John Obi Mikel now. Hadn’t seen those comments but seen an interview from Mikel about Roman and training ground visits - which were always reported by the media when things went badly anyway.
  23. Yep. He talks a good game but he’s fucking hopeless. Couldn’t manage a piss up in a brewery.
  24. Potter was horribly out of his depth and we were bad with him. Fully agree. But the defending now is fucking comical. Every corner looks like it will be a goal. The amount of space between our midfield and defence is laughable. All previous traits of Frank’s team here. The defending has gotten worse. And it didn’t seem possible.
  25. End of the season cannot come soon enough. Cesc hitting nail on the head about coaching or therefore a lack of it.
