He was the only one who actually looked interested the other night. His profile is interesting but you can still see he is raw.
-
Hes not even an average manager, he’s an extremely shite one. Calling Frank average would be an insult to the actual average managers out there.
-
Neville spot on. 100%. Not wrong on one point he mentions although he didn’t go and mention Frank/Potter appointments being poor. Can’t even listen to Boehly’s interview, the guy is an absolute joke. Anyone thinking he can just turn it around all of a sudden and next season will be immediately better are dreaming. Theres only one way it gets better - Boehly and Eghbali leave football things alone for the foreseeable. Are their ego’s going to let this happen? I don’t know - I don’t think they are humble enough to admit their at fault for 90% of this. I mean as Gary Neville said, you don’t throw away all of a footballing infrastructure, medical team, physios, sports scientists etc away in the space of a year - pure arrogance saying its on them & throwing those to the wolves. Footballing suicide to change so much so soon.
-
Yep. And if we need to raise so much for FFP to reinvest- its going to be a really tough window. Clubs will know giving us certain prices is going to directly contribute towards reinvestment so expect a strange window.

It is hard to tell completely as I think most Jan signings would of known as you’ve said about not getting top 4 but I get the feeling it could really be anybody from someone who came in this summer or people who have been in the squad for a few seasons now. It mentions sources close to more experienced/senior guys too so it could be any of the likes of or a combination of a few from guys like Azpi, Silva, Kante, Kovacic, Mendy, Koulibaly, Ziyech who are maybe disillusioned with how things are. Even some of the summer signings maybe their thinking what the fuck have I got myself into? Who knows. I’d like to be a fly on the wall and see what is going on because its beyond ridiculous. Theres far far far too many questions and not enough answers from that article. I mean it’s obvious there are huge issues inside the dressing room and with the whole infrastructure of the club - theres no way we end up where we are and how we are here through just bad performances.
-
Honestly I think if anybody thought Koulibaly and Sterling were coming here on those daft performance incentive contracts like all the young players we signed in January - then they would be dreaming 🤣 Imagine coming to Chelsea from Napoli or Man City as highly experienced, proven players for negotiations and being told you’d be getting a contract that has a 30% pay cut for CL qualification failure and a lot of incentives/bonuses based on progression. You’d laugh them out the room. And again now, any divide that may come from this - its solely on Boehly & Eghbali’s shoulders for radically changing their policy 6 months after doing what they’ve done. Even more proof which compounds their incompetency and lack of footballing know how.
-
Whoever comes in has got a hell of a task. Its now being reported some players who signed huge deals have doubts & regrets due to the huge amount of changes they’ve seen this season. Particularly staff changes - not just managers and coaches but the other types of staff that have been moved on. Also Jorginho leaving mentioned as a huge blow to the dressing room as he was very popular, had great communication due to being multi lingual - but the majority of people on here were always blindsided by that because we were getting a 106m midfielder in his place… (yes he was needed to upgrade on him in the long term but his personality is clearly a huge part of his character). https://theathletic.com/4463389/2023/04/29/Chelsea-players-mood-pochettino/?amp=1 And there are still people defending Boehly & Eghbali.
-
Hes not finished really - he’s just basically being asked to play as a number 10 for whatever fucking comical reason Frank has decided to try. Just fucking pure stupidity. I mean he played pretty well v Liverpool under Bruno I felt, in his actual position.
-
So Glen Johnstone is John Obi Mikel now. Hadn’t seen those comments but seen an interview from Mikel about Roman and training ground visits - which were always reported by the media when things went badly anyway.
-
Yep. He talks a good game but he’s fucking hopeless. Couldn’t manage a piss up in a brewery.
-
Potter was horribly out of his depth and we were bad with him. Fully agree. But the defending now is fucking comical. Every corner looks like it will be a goal. The amount of space between our midfield and defence is laughable. All previous traits of Frank’s team here. The defending has gotten worse. And it didn’t seem possible.
-
End of the season cannot come soon enough. Cesc hitting nail on the head about coaching or therefore a lack of it.
-
I’d take Potter back over Frank now. 6 games has been 6 games too many. Thats how bad we are under Frank. Put him out of his misery please Todd. You’ll be doing us all a favour. Those goals tonight, some of the worst defending I have ever seen in professional football. Ever. Wouldn’t see it in Sunday league. Passive. No pressure. Nobody’s touch tight. No physicality or competitiveness.
-
No he didn’t. Far from it. He said Roman would come to the training ground if we were playing bad. Shout at the players (through his interpreter) then leave. Next time he would show up at the training ground basically meant the manager was sacked. An owner being in the locker room frequently is a total shambles. Undermines the manager.
-
Yeah please just get rid of Lampard now - fucking hell
-
Madueke been only player on park for us to look like making something happen. So well deserved.
-
Not sure how, our midfield has been so bad. Its been hard to notice anyone bar Arsenal players 🤣
-
Could easily be 6-0 by now. Easily. Have Frank and his coaching staff ever trained set plays? Ever? Every fucking corner these lot get we nearly concede.
-
Yep we aren’t winning another game all season under Frank.
-
Havertz on for Aubamayang. Wow.
-
If I were Thiago Silva and Ngolo Kante I wouldn’t resign to play with these shower of useless cunts and if I were Poch I wouldn’t bother coming either. Arsenal doing what we used to do to them back in the day - bullying us. So pathetic. Enzo Fernandez and Kovacic having absolute shockers, are they wearing football boots or rigger boots?
-
Goal could of been firstly cut out easily by Fernandez and secondly by Kovacic. Embarrassing effort and concentration from both in the goal.
-
Fernandez having a shocker so far. Pathetic defensive contribution. Maybe not his natural game but fucking hell how has that gone through his legs - wake the fuck up. All good being neat and tidy on the ball but fucking hell
-
Actually think the shape and line up is the best team we have basically for playing a back 4 considering injuries. Even then, for full strength, James in for Azpi would be only change I’d make it RJ was available. Then its an even choice between Fofana and Badiashile but with Thiago Silva on the left sided CB makes more sense for Fofana. And maybe swap out Madueke for someone but him being a left footer on the right adds that threat. Ballsy from Frank to play Auba from the start but honestly after Brentford, I think he’s rightfully earned it.
-
Perhaps - but great players tend to be remembered more for winning trophies. Suppose they can make him a being a god at Tottenham trophy. For example, Alan Shearer was a phenomenal striker in terms of strike rate but only won 1 major honour at club level so when people talk about the greatest PL strikers, guys like Aguero, Henry, Rooney, Andy Cole, Bergkamp, usually all crop up before he is - maybe unfair in some regards because he is the PL top scorer of all time but its probably because he only won 1 trophy.
