Don't think its fair to say hes got no future at Chelsea, considering the games he had in Europe against Spurs and ourselves before we signed him there was obviously something there. Liverpool in hindsight would have probably been the better move at that time for him as he would play a lot more but hes still a talented player.

Exactly and when you consider he has over 200 appearances at club level for Sao Paulo, Internacional and Chelsea combined and almost 50 Brazil caps at the age of 23, you'd expect him to have played enough football to have found his consistency. You look at other young players, lets say Ross Barkley for example, Roberto Martinez said he needed at least 50-75 more starts for Everton at some point last season before people could consider if he'd be a great player or not, to let him play games and iron out the inconsistencies that all younger players have but when people are saying that a guy who will be 24 in September still needs a few years I just want to laugh. He can be a great player but like I said in my last post here, there is a visible improvement in Christian Eriksen and more responsibility and influence in what he does at Spurs from last year, there is a visible improvement in Raheem Sterling at Liverpool and he seems to be there big game player, the guy who influences the game for them as often as he can and whenever he feels he needs to. Ideally I'd like to have seen Oscar gone year to year, improving and improving and being more influential but its not really happened, to be honest the first season under RDM and Rafa he was very very inconsistent but had an excuse having to adapt, being shifted to the wing and managerial changes, last season under Jose, the first 5 months he was our best player but again the second half of the season... inconsistent, mind on the world cup, struggled with minor injuries at times too I think Jose said. This year too, despite this run hes been on the last 8 or 9 games before the City game in terms of goals and assists or whatever it was then a pretty piss poor game where he didn't do anything particularly memorable other than the defensive side which you now expect even though hes a number 10, it just frustrates me. Now against Villa he could go and play good score/assist but then again the week after another performance where potentially you don't remember anything like a shot or a chance created.

If he goes to Arsenal and they sort out there midfield and right full back, then they could compete for the title... hope he doesn't go there though.

Have to watch this Carles Gil guy, looks a half decent player for Villa. Plays wide right, comes inside on his left a lot.

To think Martinez won't play him regularly when players like Barkley, Mirallas, McGeady have all been pretty piss poor most of this season annoys me.

Anyone else think Matic wasn't that great today? I think playing 120 v Liverpool midweek didn't help him much though, just weird seeing all these twitter accounts saying Matic was MOTM but when he gave away the ball it seemed to be in our half and put City in slightly dangerous positions and situations.

Still remember when he absolutely bullied Cole and half our team on his debut, if we didn't have Ramires he'd be useful here I think.

You notice the games where hes scored and played well hes either played in a false striker role or as a 10 when they've had a lot of injuries. I won't be too worried if he plays against us on the wing because 1) in 1v1 he isn't going to beat Ivanovic or Luis very often as opposed to what Hazard or Willian will beat Zabaleta or Clichy and 2) his defensive output is poor and considering how good we can counter attack with Hazard and Willian. When hes playing centrally hes at his best, I still remember when he played as a false 9 for Spain vs Scotland a few years ago, he was exceptional. I don't think hes played that well on the wing for City.

If it was an FA cup game against Wrexham or someone yes maybe use him but when you consider its Man City and also consider Mikel, Ramires, Loftus-Cheek and Ake are definitely ahead of Colkett in the pecking order and in experience, ability and other things it would be crazy.

Well for a start I've already said Willian is better than him and good enough right now for us until the summer. If we lose Salah and Cuadrado comes in to be a player who comes off the bench then fine but to start ahead of Willian, don't see the point. Look you and many others can say Reus isn't coming to Chelsea but who knows? Also if he goes to Bayern or Real then someone has to go at one of those teams (Muller, Bale, Rodriguez, Ribery, Robben), thats why we should wait to summer, see where hes going then wherever he goes there will be someone who leaves because they feel that they won't get game time like Di Maria like Ozil the last 2 summers.

Lol there are lots of players better than Cuadrado... its worth waiting to the summer because Willian does so much for the team and taking him out could be a stupid move unless its a major improvement on him like Hazard was on Malouda/Kalou. We missed a trick with Sanchez in the summer though, really did.

After us signing Hazard when it seemed he was going to either Manchester United or Manchester City, I don't think its impossible to not sign anybody except Messi or Ronaldo. I'd prefer we spent 40M on the right player as opposed to 30M on a player we are only wanting because Schurrle/Salah are being sold.

Being flashy doesn't mean you look better than you are. Hazard is hardly flashy either, Quaresma was flashy, Nani flashy at times, Cristiano Ronaldo when he was younger but Hazard isn't exactly flashy. Football is simple, everyone appreciates players who can do something simple that's effective and especially at this club when we had Makelele in that holding role, he was loved because of the simple nature and effectiveness of his game. Busquets is another one I like to watch because of the simpleness in his game and also the effectiveness. Oscar does simple things but he can do so much more as I've said in other posts. Its nothing to do with him not doing as much tricks or skills either lol its stuff like influencing the play or being a constant threat in the game or taking it by the scruff of the neck. Players like Eriksen, Barkley, Silva all number 10's in various other teams you see them doing this time and time again and think Oscar should be doing that. Great players dominate games, Oscar can be a great player yes but if hes not consistent enough or say shys away from the game at times he won't dominate games.

Regarding Schurrle's shooting: He who is afraid to throw the dice never rolls a six. Also considering hes an inverted winger usually, it makes sense as to why he shoots so often as he prefers to come inside given the opportunity. Cuadrado has scored 4 goals in Serie A... hes hardly a goal scorer is he. Schurrle has a knack of scoring goals starting or not starting (City last year, City this year, Stoke, PSG, Arsenal, Fulham x3, Swansea, Burnley). Also according to who scored this season Cuadrado has played more as a number 10, appearing there 10 times with 4 goals so I ask is he really gonna be that much better than Willian on the right in goals and assists or in fact better than Schurrle? I doubt it very much. Signing a player whos on course to have his best stats so far in his career have come centrally to play wide sounds like Willian all over again, for another stupid inflated price, despite being an inferior player to him too. If we want a winger we should go for someone who is a step above what we have, not similar level or worse. Costa is even worse than Schurrle so I doubt that will happen. Would be stupid.

So Schurrle stays then if Salah goes on loan to Fiorentina... interesting.
