Hasn't done any of note for Celtic since than assist v Zenit, just a highlights player really, no substance to his game, no end product.. Can't believe people were honestly expecting him to start ahead of Willian and Pedro earlier in the season before we loaned him out. Absolute madness.
-
Not even debatable now. Has been for months.
-
Tbf regardless if he comes in or not, the fans will all complain about him, the signings and his system too. I don't even bother blaming managers anymore because they all get the same shit.
-
Interesting, he'll definitely get more touches of the ball there, could be a bold switch but I think he should remain as a CB here for the time being.
-
Fucking hell calm down, recall Mason Mount, dont make me laugh haha. Cesc is not an athletic player, he gets exposed in a 2 man MF but in a 3 man MF with two athletic players next to him he is still more than usable here. Didn't think he was that bad vs Barca in the first leg or the second leg in all fairness, fair enough players are always going to run past him and some of his passing was wayward but if we sell Cesc whos going to be that player who can control a game for us? Kante? No chance. Barkley? Dont make me laugh. Bakayoko? HAHA. Fair enough maybe sell Cesc in the summer but if he goes we need somebody with that same sort of skill set as him if we are to have any chance of dominating games.
-
Not even worth debating. Oblak is world class. Donnarumma is still learning his trade and quite frankly based on what I've seen of him this season, is going to take a long long time to get that good.
-
Think he’d be worth a punt especially with somebody like Kante next to him, pity he is inconsistent but he has got a knack of getting goals when it matters. Think we should go back to a 3 man MF regardless. Although not sure a move for him would actually happen.
-
Would it be fair to say he’s our best player?
-
He will walk into a top job next season for sure where as we will appoint Luis Enrique or some second rate manager. Exciting times ahead. Pity that it looks so clear that he will go because I think if we could show that sort of performances like the two v Barca and first half of United without individual errors then we would secure top 4 no problem.
-
Bad moments. Hes clearly offski in the summer. Would of said replacing him is a huge issue a few months back but if hes going to play like that in big games he isn't that much of an issue to replace. Although when he wants to be excellent, he is excellent, just a pity that hasn't been very often this season.
-
He needs to compete on the biggest stage, he has never done this to the level he has in the PL, is this an issue? Definitely. If the club wants to be winning or getting to the last 4 or 8 of these competitions at least we need everyone to show up. I keep seeing oh why sub Eden with 10 mins to go at 1-1 or 2-1 or some scoreline because he can produce a moment of magic at any moment... but its never happened in a big game in the last few months or so except maybe that pass for Willian v United. Being a great player and not performing in the bigger games is different to being a great player but performing well against smaller teams. This sort of thing is why I believe Neymar and Dybala will or if they already haven't exceed him. Neymar and Eden isn't even a close competition for me, Messi, Ronaldo are in a tier of their own, then Neymar, then the likes of Eden and Dybala. Also another example of big players showing up in big games: Thomas Muller, he is not an overly exciting footballer or an incredibly gifted one in the same way Eden is but in the big games he is always going to turn up and score a goal or get an assist.
-
True but these mistakes are regularly happening. I think if Luiz was fit he’d maybe have opted for him tonight because 4 or 5 matches on the trot he’s had bad moments. If it was Cahill he’d of been slaughtered 100%. Also if Willian had played as badly as Eden recently, slaughtered. No doubt in Andreas talent obviously but mistakes on a weekly basis does warrant a rethink, perhaps if Luiz was fit he’d have more food for thought.
-
Another big game and another no show. The possibility of losing the likes of Azpilicueta or Kante is more a concern for me than Hazard, purely based on his commitment to the club in terms of effort and the lack of performances in the bigger games in the last few months when the pressure has builded up on the manager and players. All the talent in the world yes but key games against City, United, Barca x2? He played well for 30 minutes in the United game but has done nothing else. If he’s trying to force his wayout then fair enough, seen a lot of hate aimed at Willian in the past 3 or 4 years for playing nowhere near as poorly as Hazard did in those games. Actually thought Willian again has been our best player when we’ve struggled as a team.
-
Courtois should have saved both of them easily. Going to be 4 or 5 isnt it? Also Sergi Roberto is not a full back, Eden and Willian need to get into them.

Chelsea great backs struggling player to shine in European encounter

Torres for motivation? Great. We are well and truly fucked. -
Its Chelsea FC, wouldn't be otherwise if the teams own fans didn't criticise the manager for nothing haha.
-
Already agreed to move to Barca. Only for like 35M too. They always seem to pull great deals out of the bag.
-
Yes true - mistakes happen., it is in human nature to make mistakes, regardless if your a footballer or a bin man. He will learn from them, hes hardly a bomb scare and will become better for having the experience of playing through a tough period where hes maybe caused a few goals directly.
-
Again hes impressed me, maybe never scored but he looks motivated and wants to prove a point. Lack of quality opposition or not, you can only play against whoever is next and when hes played, hes looked good.
-
Would be handy if Hazard does anything against Barcelona, considering the anonymous performances he put in against them in the first tie, in the game against City and second half vs United.
-
I'd already say they are a force. If they could keep clean sheets they'd be title contenders no doubt, because their attack for me, is arguably equal to City's. Throw in Naby Keita, who is an amazing footballer and Thomas Lemar?
-
Have to agree with a bit of that. Forget tactics, effort was not there. Too common a factor this season. Regardless of how we were set up or not having Kante in the team or Man City being a different level, that clip of Cesc for example or the numerous clips of Eden with his hands in the air or at his sides or Willian doing the same, instead of trying to rectify mistakes/work hard for the ball again or whatever. It was an absolutely gutless/spineless performance. I said in the Hazard thread that for a player of his ability, giving out 45 minutes of a performance in 3 games against Barca, Man United and Man City is unacceptable and I fully stand by that. Cesc for example I thought he was pretty impressive against Barca but again against City? Terrible. Willian who was our most in form player, played poorly too. Pedro? How can you fuck up so many simple 4 yard passes and look disinterested continuously except one moment where he won a corner? Too many guys who when the going seems to get tough shy away from responsibility. That 3-0 loss against Roma the performance was the same in many parts: weak, lazy, no interest from players.... Bournemouth and Watford too. I think if any player regardless of the manager, cannot get up for it against a huge team like Man City and be willing to put an ounce of effort in should be kicked in the nuts repeatedly because it is not acceptable.
-
Think it went both ways. They were both pretty annoyed at each other by looks of it. Not surprised one bit, Eden seemed to continuously be shouting over to the touch lines and Conte was more often than not shouting at Eden haha. Or the amount of times I heard it through the tv I'd say he was doing it a lot.
-
100 times better than Bakayoko and Drinkwater. If hes happy to compete for a place go for it, if hes wanting to be a undisputed starter after a few years in China, no thank you. He just had a huge element of unpredictability in his game, in a good way, although sometimes I wasnt sure if his touch was going to go out of play or not a lot when he played right wing.
-
More and more I see this guy I think we need to sign him. Get it done this summer, regardless of manager, regardless of Hazard/Courtois, regardless of FFP, regardless of fucking anything. He has real lightening pace, a hell of a left foot and can play as a left or right winger, something we've been crying out for god knows how long.
