😂😂😂😂😂 I am just giving a fair point, 2 seasons where he has been our best player has been followed by 2 extremely poor seasons but everyone has an excuse for him. The way people talk about Eden, “he is one of the top 5 in the world” after like what scoring 2 goals vs Brighton... one top performance against Atletico Madrid in Europe is pretty piss poor to back an argument up about him doing it for us in Europe. I post on this forum in this thread because in other threads over the years I’ve sat and watched various other players half as talented who have played nowhere near as average/bad as Eden in these last few months and that year under Guus have been absolutely slated time and time again. It’s actually pathetic that there seems to be more Eden Hazard fans than Chelsea fans on this forum. As a fan I am not happy that a world class player has been strolling about for 4 months doing fuck all while our season falls apart, along with a lot of our other players but for somebody who is heralded as a Chelsea legend and world class, he is definitely doing his best to show otherwise in the big games. Terry, Drogba, Lampard... these guys may not have had the talent Eden does but when shit went south they dug us out. People don’t expect the same from Eden? A world class player? Why wouldn’t you not expect that? Or is there an excuse for that? Bad players maybe? He was excellent playing with Pedro, Willian and Costa last season and then the year we won the league under Jose.

Deserves to fight for the CL? I can’t think of one big match in the CL for us where he has looked to that level. People keep talking about the lack of players of his ability over the years but if the last 4 months and that disastrous season under Jose and Guus has taught me anything it is that when the team underperforms over the basis of a season he is usually the first player to hide and shirk responsibility. People have said for years under various managers we needed to do stuff to help him or accommodate his talent and maximise it, yes Jose had him running back to help defend but then Conte came in freed him up and played him in a more freer role where he excelled, then it was oh he should play him off the striker in a 352 which he did and he did okay, then when we hit a rough patch he just dropped off the face of the earth performance wise. Time to stop making huge excuses like players, what position etc, we’ve had good enough players in attacking areas when he’s been here or we wouldn’t have managed to win the league twice. Most world class players don’t have a full shite season a year after being a starring player when his team won the league. Now it’s not just been one season, it’s happened twice now. Somethings got to give. Can’t just take the huff with the coach every 2 seasons because he makes you chase defenders back or do more physically demanding training.

Honestly think it’s about time he starts throwing players under the bus because some of them could sure as hell do with it. He’s obviously not gonna stay come the summer and if the club want to sack him or not, he’ll probably walk anyways so to get some results and to get some players to have a long look at themselves (particularly the ones who have been offered new deals or talks of getting new deals but not showing anything to warrant such a reward), I think he should have a go at them behind closed doors at least. Yes if you haven’t guessed the players I’m talking about are Courtois, Hazard - clubs going to “reward” them with new deals and pay rises if they want to sign them - , Cesc and Moses in particular.
-
When has Luiz ever offered calmness? Conte doesn't want him in the XI, so his absence makes little difference. AC certainly isn't ready to be a starter Really? He is for me but he’s made a lot of mistakes recently, he should have been taken out of the 11 yes but there’s no doubts in my mind that he’s ready to play here.
-
Agree but Luiz has been injured and could you imagine the backlash if he played Cahill there? Unfortunate for both Conte and Andreas but if he played Cahill there he gets criticized before a ball is kicked, he can’t win.
-
Urgent reshuffle needed. Yes 4 or 5 years ago when we were offloading duds/squad fillers for big money it was a good time to show them support but now, every team is buying in big players for big money. We cannot simply stand by and let this continue. Fair enough we spent 200m this summer but in reality other than Morata, what did the rest get spent on?
-
He put in a slightly better performance than he has most of this year again but still I am struggling to see if he is actually interested in playing for Chelsea. He just looks disinterested a lot. I think hes off in the summer.
-
Another big game another big Christensen mistake. Seriously feel for him because he’s a young guy but as soon as Luiz is fit he needs to take over for a while.
-
Yet people think he’s shite. Says it all. Had a good first half and got a decent goal.
-
Moses has to do better prior to that goal and Caballero has 100% got to save that. Looked better at first but honestly Tibo would have saved that easily. Other than that Alonso getting big chances. Thought we’ve been better team by far.
-
Honestly don’t think he’d do a good job for us. Style would change yes (although we would concede a lot of goals due to this I would imagine) but his tendency to fall out and have a bad relationship with various staff, players and board members is a big turn off and I’d imagine it would be for any club. Bayern might say he’s signed for another team but I honestly doubt he would be their top choice, in all honestly I think their top choice is trying to convince Jupp to do another year. Mainz told Dortmund that it wouldn’t last too long with Tuchel as well for certain reasons. If he signs for anybody I think it will be PSG.
-
I think if he or Asensio is going to leave Real, then we have to get one of them, if City get Isco then its fair to say they will pump the PL every year.
-
They just love to talk utter shite. Lukaku, De Bruyne, Hazard, Courtois... always seem to have something to say. I cant believe people actually think Madrid are going to try sign him over the likes of Neymar or Salah... I would swap Eden for both at the moment, I think he always seems to have an excellent season then a beyond average one right after.
-
Seen somewhere hes proud to be a Chelsea player and still wants to win trophies here etc, well its about time he starts putting in performances and resigns in the summer then isnt it? Same as his mate Eden. Put up or shut up.
-
Agree completely, undoubtedly Boga's chances here sailed years ago but he looks more ready to play regularly. Think CHO should be a regular feature for us in the next 3-5 years if he can continue to develop and score a loan move somewhere where he can be productive like Tammy in the Championship for example unless a manager was to be brave enough and put him right in (dont want to jinx anything but haha). He isn't exactly short of confidence for a 17/18 year old (little bit like Raheem Sterling when he played against Man City in his Liverpool debut I think it was - fuck knows why I know that but) and also I think he has a little bit of a maturity and understanding in his game, which is what I think will make him stand out along with Ampadu here.
-
Is it bold to make such a prediction like he will be McEachran 2.0? Cant get in the Celtic team at all. When he does he doesn't do anything of note. Crazy people believed he had more right to start than Willian or Pedro earlier in the season, even Boga looks better and more consistent than him.
-
Good player with good potential and as you've said younger yes but Alderweireld is one of the best CBs in Europe. 25m would be an absolute bargain.
-
Think like Barkley, if we can get him for 15-20m its a win win, if he signs and starts to hit some consistency and improve, its good for us and if doesn't improve and get back to that level, he'll be here on a 5-6 year contract and will undoubtedly make the club money although I'm more concerned with results on the park and reckon that he could be a good signing if he went back to a back 4, not sure about Alonso in a back 4 at all. Hes a big powerful full back who can cover a lot of space in a short time, think he'd be an ideal fit here.
-
Sure he was maybe a reason why they scored but again like with Cahill or Ivanovic or whoever else in recent time hes gotten a lot of pish for things that is truly nothing to do with him directly. Which shows exactly the mentality of the some of the fans of this club. Monreal fair enough but what about Jose Gaya? Alberto Moreno, who suits Spains style to the ground and played u21s with the Spain manager? Alonso deserved a call up for last season in my eyes and now hes finally gotten recognition on a wider scale but now its not oh hes done well its, oh he only had Monreal for competition.... He boosts his stats with free kicks? So what? 6 PL goals with a lot coming from set plays is good for a LWB, considering he got a vital winner vs Spurs, Southampton as well as add the goals he managed last year, we'd be a fair few points off where we are now if it weren't for some of his goals. Obviously he wont grab many headlines being a LWB but him along with Christensen (who has had a rough patch recently), has been one of our more consistent players this season (defenders being more consistent players suppose that means the seasons a failure). 12 PL goals in 1 and a half seasons from LWB is a good return, regardless of how good or bad you think he is. Hes solid because he shows up does a decent enough job every week. How many of our players can stake a claim to that this season? Not very many. Why do we seem to slag off every player we have who are doing a reasonable job, is it his fault hes probably our best LWB? No. It is the boards for not signing Alex Sandro or not signing Luke Shaw about 4 years ago or whoever/whatever. Ridiculous. His assists could improve but again Morata and Giroud have had good chances on a plate from Alonso and not scored. Not saying hes the best crosser but that game vs United for instance where Alonso put a peach on a plate for Morata and he hit the bar comes to mind. Its not like Alonso is an absolute train wreck like Bakayoko. Did he boost his stats last year with free kicks too? Or was he genuinely just really good last year because I would like to know? Because I think last year we all wanted an elite LB and maybe still do. Fair enough hes not exactly the best LB out there but in terms of what he cost and the availability of others, not the worst option. Yet its typical for fans of this club to slag off players who are at least showing up 75% of the time and doing reasonably okay, especially in a tough season and a tough patch.... no wonder everyone thinks we are a joke. Fair enough goals do happen and sometimes you can point the finger at an individual but we have bigger problems than our LWB who has been doing alright this season, like our attacking players except Willian seeming to have vanished and our 40m MF signing being an absolute waste of a footballer. Also throw in uncertainty over Conte's future, finishing top 4, winning a trophy etc.... But anyway once again lets all be morons and start slagging all our players off,.
-
Not sure what he has to do to get some credit. People talking about letting us sell him to United but he was very solid v Leicester. Called up for Spain too. No mean feat considering the options they could call up. Throw in the fact he has 6 PL goals this season too.
-
Diego Costa didn't play for us this season. Which is precisely why I said Morata carried us the first half of the season. Because in terms of goals, he did.
-
He scored like 10 goals in the first half of the season. Nobody else even got close to him for that output here.
-
and Eden drops off completely off the radar and doesn't get the half the shit.
-
I hope your joking. Lol. He was carrying us the first half of the season. Suppose you'd probably have given up on Drogba after his first year here too then.
