  1. Sancho 😂 fuck sake we will be towards the bottom of the list for Sancho come next summer. We wont spend the 100m minimum Dortmund will want.
  2. He is basically a defensive midfielder so why would goals or assists matter? People take stats far too seriously. But I do agree we are heavily stacked in MF.
  3. Ironically enough at United he does more than for Scotland but he is still one hell of an average player. He runs about, tries to get stuck in, has a big physical frame but in a team thats on the front foot, who will be playing against low blocks most weeks, his passing and overall lack of top quality lets him down. For Scotland, he is a passenger every game. He sits in a more disciplined role infront of the defence but again, struggles to really impose himself or break the lines with his passing. Doesnt do nearly enough for Scotland to the point where I would rather see Steve Clarke pick Ryan Jack from Rangers in that role.
  4. Good job he doesnt play for a newspaper then.
  5. Slow? Are you sure your not meaning another player? Ive seen him play for Rangers youth teams, Scotland u21s and now for us and slow is something I wouldnt say about Billy Gilmour. He is not slow. Hes not Usain Bolt but slow, for a midfield player, no chance.
  6. Wtf why is everyone in the media praising United's performance v Liverpool? Did they watch the game? United basically just played long balls into the channel and ran around. Liverpool were pretty piss poor by all accounts too but I suppose trying to have Fabinho, Henderson and Wjinaldum pick passes through 10 players sitting deep and compact is about as useful as a chocolate ashtray. All this United can build on this performance pish is ridiculous although if they want to play like a team of hammerthrowers tbf yeah let them crack at it. Also as a Scot, seeing how Scott McTominay played yesterday makes me worry, if he is going to be a key player in our NT we are fucked. Seen the game on the train, whole of the second half he just booted the ball aimlessly everytime. Keanes comment regarding Harry Kane was hilarious though but no surprise Neville, Keane even Souness.... no real criticism of Uniteds performance. Odd because I remember when City beat us 1-0 under Conte, we got absolutely hammered by most pundits until we lost 6-0 with Sarri in same fixture.
  7. If his first intentions to go sign another midfielder when we are pretty much already stacked there then it wont be interesting at all, more daft in my eyes as theres other areas we need to strengthen/improve upon such as upfront and outwide. Good teams strengthen where they are weak be it first 11 or 18 man squad. An injury to Tammy and we are goosed upfront. Willian and Pedro are good pros and have done their bits over the years but they will also need replacing/upgraded on if we are to take the next step. Defence still potentially questionable as Ive mentioned my concerns with Zouma but I think Rudiger will stiffen us up, him and Tomori would be an excellent partnership I feel.
  8. Yeah going for another central midfielder/10 would be one of the stupidest moves we could make just now. We already have Mason, Ruben, Kova, Jorginho, Kante, Barkley and Gilmour. The only exception would be a back up for Jorginho but I think Billy Gilmour is the one Frank wants to have that role in the squad so wouldnt make a huge deal of sense. If someone left which again I think come January (dont see it with the ban) or even the summer, the only one I could really think of would be Ross if he doesnt kick on (as I feel he is getting left behind by those around him in similar positions in the squad). But if not then it would be a really stupid move to sign another midfielder. Upfront we need competition for Tammy and in central defence we could potentially need another as Zouma still doesnt convince me in the long run. Tomori, Ruidger, Andreas and another CB instead of Zouma is maybe greed but I think we improve on him. Wide area also maybe a priority more than CM too.
  9. Dont see how its obvious to see because for me it definitely isnt. He is going to be a top player but if he reaches the level of Sterling or Eden he will be a huge player regardless. Just need to let these kids play and develop st their own rate without putting outrageous assumptions or demands on them. I mean not many players will be as good as Eden or Raheem Sterling. Its the harsh reality.
  10. Sorry but this is nonsense. Raheem Sterling and Eden Hazard are both on another level completely to Callum and Jadon. Not even debatable.
  11. And maybe then Deschamps still wanted him around the group? Who knows? I can still see it from both views, Kante is a likeable character as much as a top top player maybe keeping him around the squad was something he felt was good for them. Lampard obviously is annoyed yes but again, if it was the other way around? Its just one of them things. Wouldnt get too hung up on it, they wont play an injured player and the NT has a medical team too. Theres nothing to say France arent taking that injury serious, I mean did they make him train? Did they want to play him?
  12. Id say its pretty similar in a way. Just concerns about playing time. Lampard is concerned because he wants Kante 100% fit to play most weeks for us and Deschamps needs Giroud to play regularly so he is 100% match fit come the international games as he is his man upfront and can justify playing him. Yeah its maybe not as black and white as that and there is a bit of a grey area but at the end of the day, nobody gets exactly what they want everytime with these quarrals you do hear of between NTs and clubs from time to time, both just have to try and work at it until they meet a compromise. Franks looking out for our interests and Deschamps is looking out for France NTs interests. Kante and Giroud are in the middle of it, wouldnt matter whatever player it was its just difference in opinions based on the interest of the club and their NT.
  13. ⁹To be fair its a 2 way street. Deschamps will complain as Giroud is his number 1 striker most times and isnt playing regularly enough and Frank will complain because Ngolo was there despite being injured. This is nothing new in regards to international and club football clashing.
  14. This will be a very tough game I think. Even for us being at home. They arent on the best run but they showed last week when their backs are against the wall they can perform. I am concerned about us at CB because the guy Joelinton is a very good physical number 9 who has shown promise for them this season. He can be very physical so I hope Zouma and Tomori are up for it. Plus Saint-Maximin is excellent in 1 v 1s, at carrying the ball up the pitch and Almiron has shown he can be a difficult player to play against as well as he is very quick and good in tight spaces. Wont be as easy as many will think so it is essential we get an early goal so they come out and attack us to open up more spaces.
  15. Honestly dont see the fuss. When Eden did it vs West Ham last season after scoring that goal dont think anybody had brought up there being any issue? Did any media outlets? Any opposition managers? Anybody? Also I severely doubt Lampard will be that annoyed regarding something so small that he will have spoken to Mason about it. If he has had to then I would be very surprised. Fuck me is football in this country getting even more softer than it already was or is? Cant cup your ear to opposition fans after scoring a goal... jesus christ, guess in another 10 years celebrations will just be wee high fives incase somebody somewhere gets offended. If he does it again I will not be giving one fuck regardless. As long as he keeps scoring, whatever works for him.
  16. If we are short at CB Guehi will maybe get on the bench.
  17. I don't see a problem at all. Seems like you are making a mountain out of a molehill. Honestly how many players do this a season all across Europe in different leagues? Hundreds? Never seen or heard one complaint or worry about it anywhere until now. If you score a goal your more than likely going to provoke the opposition fans anyway in some way so I am guessing next he shouldnt score? Incase he provokes people? Honestly it just seems ridiculous. Its very tame compared to what he could do so for me, just seems very very weird to find an issue with him provoking opposition fans by cupping his ears... I mean sticking the ball in the net against the team you supports rivals must be very satisfying regardless of what level your playing at in regards to professional football so for me, honestly, he could run about doing 39 cartwheels for all I care (as long as he doesnt get injured doing them 😂). I mean footballers yes they are rolemodels but fucking hell they are people too who are allowed to express themselves.
  18. Donovan? At Everton? Well if his time over here was well documented then I do feel sorry for anyone who had to watch that constant shit as he only played a handfulmore than 15 times in 2 loan spells and only scored 2 league goals, which by all means as a footballer in Europe, is rather shocking. People have tonhe patient with Puli, I mean in regards to the media coverage etc he has already eclipsed what he achieved in Europe as a footballer, they should ease off and let the guy develop rather than pinning the weight of a nation on him. Even if he becomes as good as he can he can barely brunt the shoulder of a whole NT a level below him, look at Messi with Argentina and hes the greatest player whos ever kicked a ball. Still excited to see what he does for us this season, he will get plenty of opportunities. I really dont see why theres any rush or panic about him already.
  19. Wait... what? Why? Should he not celebrate scoring against Southampton like that (he is a Portsmouth fan)? If hes going to stick the ball in the back of the net and not do anything overly stupid he can crack on celebrating like that. Dont see the issue.
  20. In regards to Emerson lets hope hes fully fit and not thrown back in when he clearly wasn't right... so yeah keep Alonso in for this game.
  21. Sancho is twice the player he is too in terms of potential. Peps thing for youngsters is mad. Thiago Alcantara for example, at Barca he used him sparingly despite him being excellent. I dont get what Foden stands to gain sitting in the bench at City any longer this season.
  22. Good to see the potential overreaction is out already. Fuck me. Why even write an article along those lines 😂 Pulisic is 20 Morata was like 24 when we got him. Criminal. Who lets this guy write articles? Who has even said about Pulisic being like Morata?
  23. Did you watch the video? My god. We will just agree to disagree then 😂 probably the only person who will say his passing range is ok...
  24. I mean for him to say "they wont sell him, not even for 500m euros" shows he rates him highly. Although if youve got a player who you publically said you wouldnt even sell for that fee then surely you play him? Regardless of age, nationality etc? It just baffles me. We had repeatedly got stick or comments made from the English media and pundits for not brining through youngsters yet Pep says something like that and the majority of them seem to eat it up.... absolutely ridiculous.
  25. 1-1, Rodrigo. Half decent record at NT level, 8th goal in 20 or 21 games.
