Expecting to see this line up: Kepa Zouma - Christensen - Tomori Azpi - Kante - Jorginho - Alonso Willian - Tammy - Mount Although maybe seeing James feature would be nice as its a step up and he did have a good game the other night but its 50/50 never know, but have a feeling Lamps will stick with Azpi.

Perhaps but again, still have to keep our feet on the ground regarding him, Mount, Tomori, Abraham, Callum etc. We are still early in the season. Its extremely promising these guys are doing well so far but it still can go both ways. I have huge hopes for them all but we need to be wary before throwing phrases like potentially world class or captain material based on reserve games, championship games and 1 cup game. Ive seen him play for the u18s and several times for Wigan as well and while he has excelled there we have to be careful with the expectations. The seasons still very early. He still has to do it in the PL which I am sure he can do as Tomori, Abraham, Mount etc have done well in so far but its just the start and theres a long way to go. Will reserve any judgements about being potentially world class or whatever until hes had a consistent period of time in the team.to show this.

Hate to sound like a huge cunt but 90 minutes v Grimsby and already seeing can be one of the best in the world and should be made captain etc. Jeez. Think thats a bit far fetched after 1 full game and I rate him very highly. Dont even think McEachran got such praise after strolling it vs Marseille and Newcastle. Yes he played well, yes he got 2 assists but tougher tests will come for him and the other guys but its a good start. We need to be wary with these guys theres still a long way for them to go although tonight was very promising. Gives Lampard food for thought though, which I am sure he will appreciate knowning he can trust these guys in certain games if he needs to for rotations and suspensions.

Gilmour has barely put a foot wrong all game. Very confident always demanding the ball under pressure or not, reminds me of Cesc a bit, not afraid to keep trying to play probing passes even if they dont always come off. Maatsen has impressed in limited time so far too, pace, agility, never stands still when his winger has the ball, always runs beyond him. Good goal by Reece there too, very solid performance, good assist and a goal to cap it off. Callums finishing needs huge work. 2 big chances now hes hit straight at the keeper christ....

Perhaps but a manager can always overrule that and just not play him. You would think a manager should notice if a player was or wasn't 100% either in training or prior to the game but the players can also say they are ready when they arent as they want to play etc. Think the blame should be split between manager and medical team rather than solely given to the medical team who have always been very good here (unsure how much or if any personnel did change this summer). Worth note saying Kante and Rudiger suffered similar things, came back from injury and were back out almost immediately.

Hes done more than Pedro or Callum I would say who have both looked poor and struggled to really be productive so far except for Pedros penalty and one Callum cross. Not entirely convinced by our performance either, weve gave them some opportunities that perhaps against a better quality of team, would end up in the net. Hopefully come out 2nd half and up the intensity a bit despite being 3-1 up because theres more there for the taking. Have been impressed with Billy Gilmour though.

Well didnt people want to see him play this season? In a 433 with Jorginho, Kante and Kovacic as the 3 in MF, there is no other position for him than a wide one.

Its no coincidence we constantly concede chances and goals from corners. If it happened once or twice in the space of however many games then you could definitely say its individual mistakes but its almost every week we struggle at corners or freekicks, which screams out to me that it is down to coaching more than anything else. Also you mention facing best managers, it really means nothing because at a club like Chelsea you expect that if youve been a manager for 1 year or 10 years, so again I think that to use it as an excuse is needless. Norwich outplayed Man City for instance but doesnt mean they are better or there manager is or whatever. Results and performances are 2 different things, results and performances dont always coincide, you can perform well and lose or perform badly and win. To not have won at home yet this season so far for me is really bad. If this was Sarri then their would be huge outrage, I get Frank deserves time as hes a young manager but he wont actually get it unless we stop conceding these stupid goals, tighten up defensively as a whole unit and start winning games at home regardless of if its Liverpool or Sheffield Wednesday. This performing better than results suggest stuff is an excuse in my eyes because as a team, taking everything into account not just attacking, are we really performing that much better than last season, taking into account we cant keep clean sheets and are always very very open on transitions? Unfortunately, theres more to the game than just scoring goals or having 3 academy players in the line up. As a whole our attacking play is a bit less predictable perhaps but the defensive side of the match including our organisation at corners/freekicks is really really really worse than it was last season. Was never gonna be an easy job but we need to be realistic if the performances were good or bad, we would want to have more points and have won at home by now.

Hes provided 2 of our best chances all game.. what the fuck 🤣 for all his limitations hes hardly been bad. Not one of the boys on for us have been bad. Mason really had to score that chance and Batsuhayi could also have done better with his header. Honestly and this may sound daft but would say that we dont really deserve to win games if we keep conceding ridiculous set piece goals. You can say okay we lost to a world class goal or an unlucky decision at times but again we concede an absolute shocking goal. A fucking free header. If you cant do the basics such as defending corners/freekicks.... your always gonna be up against it. Liverpool arent a big side either in terms of being 11 giants. No Pulisic again at any point, which I think was a mistake.

Again maybe shes the boss but youve got to trust that the scouts are looking st the right players or whats the point in having them, her job isnt scout is it? She is a director or something. Shes just the person who negotiates with sponsors, the clubs of potential signings, players and agents... among other things. Well obviously again I doubt it was just purely down to her that Alonso got a new deal. Or David Luiz. Or Pedro. Or Mason Mount. Or Callum. Or whoever else.... theres obviously much more to it than people think, I doubt she sits there having a cuppa and has a brainwave deciding shes going to give Alonso a new deal. She is not astute enough with transfers. She isnt a fucking scout, think we've mentioned this before. The idiots who identified Drinkwater, Bakayoko etc as signings we needed, need to be sacked. She maybe takes the brunt of it as she deals with other clubs to actuslly sign the players but astute enough with transfers dont make me laugh, she doesnt identify players and poor recruitment is down to the scouting network as much as Marina as well. Plus with a transfer ban, inexperienced coach and wanting to be competitive is it any surprise we didnt sell some more players? Swear some people think that buying/selling players and being involved with a football club is like FIFA on the xbox or playstation. What we need is a knowledgeable technical director to revamp the scouting network and work closely with the coaching staff.

Setting up for defending from set plays is done on the training ground so constantly conceding goals from them is a reflection on him, Jody and whoever else and whatever they are trying to get across. Not playing Pulisic in any capacity v Valencia and even not starting him today also looks like a mistake for me. He has pace and geniune ability to take players out of the game in 1 v 1s.

And again though, regardless of if hes Usain Bolt or not if hes 30, 40 or 50m up the pitch hes still gonna struggle to get back in isnt he against a Salah or a Mane? Just think about it. Also even when Emerson was on that same ball beat him too (although that is a huge part of how Liverpools play regardless of opposition, CBs or holding MF playing hitting long diagonals/straight passes over the top into the channels as Salah and Mane make those runs). Also our better attacking play has come on the left hand side in the last 20 minutes which clearly justifies Frank pushing Alonso further up the pitch. Its obvious if hes further up the pitch and we lose it Tomori might be isolated or have to go out to the channel. Same with if Azpi does it on the right and we lose it. I suppose again like the other night Frank should go to the u23s n take up a 16 year old LB instead of using someone who hes had on the bench most weeks?

Playing youngsters is all good and well but if we dont stop conceding shite goals Frank and Jody will have immense pressure on them because setting up for defending set plays is a coaching aspect.
