  1. Yeah its madness. Such a disgrace to see in all fairness, never mind in football. I still remember when Neil Lennon and Niall McGinn got sent bullets when they were at Celtic and the whole circus around that, not sure why these idiots feel compelled to do this sort of shit. Italian football has enough problems with racism and now this sort of thing happening, doesnt bode well for it.
  2. I see the concerns but he just missed a game for us through a suspension.... Its upto Frank to manage him throughout the season accordingly because he will play more for club than country. The regards to Italy calling him up, if Italy want to play him despite being qualified they can and he is fully fit so dont see an issue where I know there was regarding Ngolo due to his fitness at that moment in time. But again, Jorginho didnt play the last game for us before the international break so he would of had time to rest and while over the course of a season one game isnt exactly enough, he has missed other cup games as well. I think its perhaps just overthinking and expecting the worst.
  3. If the coaching staff want the players to not muck around on social media then they have to set that example. Morris posts on twitter and instagram a loy so he has to toe the line.
  4. Sarri will take him to Juventus I think. Eventually. Cuadrado is getting on.
  5. Its a bit of both. Obviously hes made errors and so has the defense. Maybe a new coach is needed because Sarri had his own one last season and Kepa was better so maybe Hilario, who in all fairness and respectfully was a reasonable enough servant here, is part of the problem yeah. The natural talent is there with Kepa, his distribution and reflexes are very good. Not sure Shay Given will be the best GK coach but again not sure, a familiar face for Frank though.
  6. Exactly. He didnt even play poorly the majority of last season in my opinion, Sarriball maybe restricted him as well as inconsistencies from the team as a whole for a wee bit but Sarri was never fully accepted because of the disconnect with the fans and Jorginho was basically the one man everyone would associate with Sarri so he was a scapegoat. The last 3 or 4 months of last season he was just as good as anyone in that position in the PL imo and in the Europa League run, again he was very good.
  7. Severely overrates fullback. Pretty much hopeless defensively. Scoring goals as a fullback doesnt make you a good fullback, I mean just look at half the opinions on here regarding Marcos Alonso and even Ivanovic towards the end despite him getting goals.... even then hes 28 turning 29. Plus he has lost his place at Paris I think for the very reason Tuchel cannot trust him defensively.
  8. One meeting but it took him about 10 weeks to sign the actual contract. I smell bullshit because there is no way we are that bad at dealing with setting up new contracts. No way in hell.
  9. We are just awful at defending set pieces. Regardless of who plays. It would be like saying Kepa has played every game this season and the stats for lack of clean sheets doesnt look good... when in reality our defending set pieces has been a huge weakness of ours and it wouldnt matter if we had 11 Terry's or 11 Drogba's, if the set ups poor we would still concede. The set play set up is more coaching than anything because there's no way we have made say 5 or 6 individual errors at the set plays weve conceded and even the ones that we havent conceded from. Even more so when you look at the fact that we have used zonal more often than not. Yes Alonso gave away a penalty v United and whatever but in terms of defending set plays people going after Alonso who is up there with Rudiger and Zouma as probably one of our strongest players in the air, seems a bit moronic. Alonso has been a opinion divider since his 2nd season here but honestly I dont think he has really let us down this season in comparison to his performances last season. (Apologies for the 2 posts in a row didnt notice the previous discussions before the last post haha)
  10. No Bernardo Silva for City. Banned for one game and fined 50k for the whole Mendy incident. Not sure what to make of the incident and not aware of the whole story behind the Conguitos character either. be a tough match anyway they have got excellent squad depth and attacking players.
  11. Tbf they did and it was obvious to see why. There were numerous times Hazard, Willian, Pedro etc could of passed to him at clear opportunities at times and didnt. If they were confident in him they would have. Not their fault they lost their confidence in him, simple as that, just an excuse more than anything if your doing your job and playing well regardless of scoring goals or not, your team mates will be confident in you. End of story. For Atletico he has done wellish but still, if shit goes south they will get a new CF in, theyve always shown they want as many top CFs as possible.
  12. Having watched a lot of Celtic games for years now including the old firms, I am still not 100% absolutely sold on both Morelos and even Eduoard making such a big move yet. I did think that Moussa Dembele, Kieran Tierney and also Krisoffer Ajer who will be the next one to go, were definitely ready to move to a bigger league although I do think if Morelos or Eduoard got a move similar to Dembele's and continued to grow for a season or two, it would suit both of them much better while they mature a bit more as players. I think Moussa Dembele and Tierney both had a real maturity to their game as well as their ability, you wouldnt have thought they were so young watching them play. Both Morelos and Eduoard at times, that perhaps shows, but again having Morelos here competing with Tammy and both of them alternating for playing time isnt ideal for both of their developments. Their both at ideal ages where they need to play every week. Saying that, Morelos' temperment has improved a lot since he first arrived in Scotland and his physicality means he usually gives defenses a tough time, in Europe and in Scotland. I am not sure if he is technically superior to the likes of Eduoard or Dembele. In and around the box he is very good, undoubtedly his strike rate is very impressive for a player lf his age. I dont think Morelos has ever played as a wide player for Rangers or Columbia though. The price for either Morelos or Eduoard is going to be 30m plus undoubtedly though, both players are goalscorers which adds more to their worth.
  13. Personally I still think Solanke is one of the more overrated English youngsters to have come through in the last 5 seasons. Youth level and senior football is two totally different things, Solanke hasnt even done anything relative at Bournemouth and has only scored 1 PL goal his whole career playing for us, Liverpool and now Bournemouth. Even Klopp preferred keeping Origi ahead of him. How he has an England cap is beyond a joke as well in all fairness.
  14. Think he is spot on to be perfectly honest. City will be the biggest test we have had this season I would say. I still think they are a better team than Liverpool, although defensive injuries at the minute are their shortcoming and after the loss today, the manner in which it happened too with VAR controversy etc, Pep will be furious. I have no doubt that they will come out and play at a very high level. We have to do the same, we have to be solid without the ball and the spaces between the lines need to be tight because as soon as De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling, Gundogan get into those spaces between defence and midfield, anything can happen.
  15. Sell Kovacic? What are you smoking? His consistency and performances this season have been excellent. Barkley yes maybe but Kovacic wont be going anywhere anytime soon. 100%. Suggesting that is even more ludicrous. I watched Milinkovic-Savic play against Celtic in the Europa League, Lazio were at home, he was pretty pathetic I thought. I know how good he can be and is but still, Id keep Kovacic than sell him to buy Milinkovic Savic. 100%.
  16. Think his experience and leadership has helped Palaces backline and also his individual performances this season have been good. Good to see hes getting regular minutes, we all know he didnt maybe play as often or as well in the last 2 seasons here as he could have but Palace suit him down to the ground.
  17. Sheffield United have played well all season. They remind me of Conte's team here in a way and its not just to do with the 3 at the back. They dont have any real glaring obvious weaknesses and thats huge credit to Chris Wilder and the players who the majority of them were in the championship with then. Good to see John Fleck finding the PL reasonably easy after his career stalled for a while when he was the next big thing in Scotland with Rangers. VAR is a shambles too.
  18. 😂 Solskjaer was the second coming of Fergie last season and with no disrespect to Frank at all, they are now doing a FL v OGS thread? Fuck me their fickle fans. OGS was always a bad move for United, his career speaks for itself as a player maybe but as a manager, which he has been since 2008, he managed United reserves, Molde, Cardiff and Molde again before going to United.... when does that ever happen?
  19. Its difficult because we do lack height in the team. It would definitely will help us seeing as we use a zonal set up more at set plays and that but even then its going to be near to impossible for Frank to get players that are 1) very good, 2) fit his system/style, 3) strong in the air and 4) tall. Sarri had the same issue and with thia current squad, it will still more than likely be the same. We have Kovacic, Kante, Mount and Jorginho in MF who are all under 5 ft 10 and arent exactly brilliant at attacking the ball in the air. Azpi and Emerson are in that bracket too with regards to height, although Azpi is better in the air than he gets credit for. Its tough because the organisation was improving but Ajax game shown its still an issue even with height or not. Rudigers return will help I feel he is very strong in the air and good at attacking set plays. The only things about Mourinho and Conte's teams here was you knew that we would have a lot of bigger players for set pieces offensively and defensively. Its almost a trait of any Mourinho and Conte team, strong in the air defensively, very big threats in the opposition boxes at set plays. Even physically there was a difference.
  20. Notoriousoy known for tormenting our right side? Hes had maybe 2 good games a few seasons ago against us as Tomo said and thats it. Reece James and Willian basically just did the basics today defensively and doubled up on him and he struggled. Maybe a bit disrespectful to both of their performances as they did more than the basics in the full capacity of the game but still, I really cant remember the last time Zaha made a huge impact against us and he never ever looked at getting going today either. Still cant believe people think Zaha is a 80m player. Cant believe Palace believe that either. He basically alternates between a winger and a free role off striker and he has 0 goals this season. And Palace haven't exactly started poorly either.
  21. It will never come to that. Youd be mad if youd think Paris would keep him for that long and risk that. They were going to be offering him a new deal but because of the wages hes currently on and what Neymar is on, its complicated. They will get over 275m for if they go to sell this upcoming summer, 100%.
  22. No chance. Why would a club sell a player who cost almost 200m, whos eclipsed Neymar who cost 220m, as the main man of their team and is significantly younger.... if Mbappe goes for 200m Id be so surprised. They will have significantly undersold him.
  23. He wont extent but he signed there for how many years? 5? 6? After his loan was done. Hes still got to the summer of 2022. If he goes next summer he will still cost someone over 275m easily. Hes only 20 or 21. Probably the best player of that age in the world. Multiple Ligue 1 winner, a world cup winner, arguably the next best footballer of the next decade and plays for a club who do.not need to sell for peanuts as they are Saudi backed. You do the maths. They wanted over the 220m euros they paid for Neymar and in a world where Real Madrid paid a sum that will make up to 130m in the next few seasons for Eden Hazard who had 1 year on his deal, it makes the fact people believe PSG will sell at this 215m figure even more laughable.
  24. I still think Real Madrid or Barcelona are the only clubs that Kylian Mbappe will ever consider leaving PSG for. Even then, £215m is a bit low as well considering he cost PSG £158m and has continuously gotten better and is one of the best players of his generation. Anyway, I think any club (and that includes Barca and Real) who bid £215m will get laughed away by PSG anyway. He is going to cost someone very close to 300m minimum after this season. Why would Real try sign Salah and not just go for Mbappe, who Zidane has very much wanted since returning as well as the fact that the former Monaco owner has stated that Real is effectively Mbappes dream next move when he decides he doesnt want to play in Paris any longer? Liverpool as well I think, despite how good they are now, when Klopps cycle there finishes (also like City when Pep decides he wants to change teams which he seems to do every 3 or 4 seasons based on his career so far), they will lose a bit of their appeal to the top players. Or thats what I think anyway. Maybe not be relevant if they make the bid next summer as I imagine Klopp will still be there until he takes them as far as he can but in the long term, dont see Mbappe playing there. I will be surprised if Bayern dont try and make an approach for Klopp come the summer if they go for a short term appointment until then. I think if there is a set price yeah the PL clubs will match it but ultimately I still think Real and Barca are going to be his preferences.
  25. Even then if we were better defensively than we were under the first 4 or 5 weeks or so that number would be even less. Progress has been made all over but we cant stop and be ecstatic with where we are still, we need to keep plugging away and continuously improve. Couple of top players in certain positions will give us a boost as well. Willian can be improved upon as can Giroud and Batshuayi, although everytime Batshuayi has come on for us he looked threatening compared to when he starts and also at CB. Realisiticlly I would say in the next 2 transfer windows the likes of Giroud, Alonso, Willian (50/50 as Lamps is very keen on him), Barkley and Pedro are all possibly at risk of being replaced/upgraded upon. Also a 2nd keeper will be a needs sooner rather than later as Caballero must be around 37 or 38 by now surely.
