I would take your post seriously if you didnt start with that 🤣 and then hadnt plastered a video of Xavi one of the best midfield players of the last 15 years to use as a comparison.... you obviously dont watch the games or choose what you want to see. Still think its ridiculous people still think Jorginho is just a sideways passer. Hes not Scott McTominay for fuck sakes 🤣

Sincerely hope Mason is more than fit enough to play after the injury he picked up mid week so maybe need to keep an eye on it. More confident regarding Emerson and Kante being much more closer to 100% as theyve been out of the side recovering with this game in mind I would like to think.
-
I got what you meant and I do agree but it is a dangerous way to go too. We need to be careful with future youths in similar situations in the future.
-
Again though Callum played like 20 games last season. 20-25 games doesnt warrant 120k a week realistically. Weve paid him that more for potential yes but lets be honest it is a very dangerous bar to set. Mount played what like 65 games in 2 seasons out on loan and has shown extremely good returns in goals and assists. For me a good example is Rashford at United, he got a new deal a while back, now he earns like 200k a week and is maybe their 3rd or 4th top earner, maybe for what he gets jn terms of goals and assists its a bit much but he has played like 180 games for United. Weve given someone whos played 20-25 games 120k a week.... maybe he had us by the balls a bit but still, I think it is a dangerous situation, not saying hes money orientated completely, its obviously footballers will try get the best for them and their families but other youngsters will be aware of if they get 20 games maybe and do well they could perhaps ask for those sort of wages. Personally for me now, for 120k a week Callum has much more of an onus on him now to deliver, 120k a week is probably around or more than on some cases than what the likes of Willian, Alonso, Jorginho, Kovacic, Rudiger, Giroud, Pedro etc will be on that or maybe just under or in some circumstances over that. Ruben got around that wage as well I think when he renewed but hes played regularly for 2 seasons now with us and Palace. But really now yeah Callum has to come in and play well, hes had the injury, hes recovering now and is apparently close to play but when he plays he has to do what Mount or Abraham has done so far which is deliver. They and even Tomori who hasnt looked out of place at all are the benchmark right now for young guys in our squad, I think Mounts top of our stats for key passes, chances created, shots on goal touches in opposition box etc, hes fully grasped his chance as has Tammy with his goals and Callum really has to do it again as hes been out and now with that new deal.on that wage, he has to show hes worth that.

Fuck sake he looks as if hes aged about 13 years in the space of 2 seasons. He was always an ugly fucker but wow. Actually really glad him and Edens moves haven't worked out and based on Madrid in the last 18 months, probably wont for a while. Just shows that not many folk leave Chelsea in their best years and necessarily do anything spectacular afterwards. Robben, Salah and De Bruyne are the obvious exceptions that I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe Eden and Courtois will look back in a few years and go why did we leave...
-
About fucking time. Anyways looking forward to seeing him play in the next few games.

Did we really watch the same game? Firstly, we didnt utilize Alonso who was often the spare man on the left anywhere near enough in the first half and secondly, when we did start to, he put a few crosses in. Some didnt go past their defence some did but nobody was there. No idea what everyone expects crossing the ball in is always gonna be 50/50, 50% chance the balls good and 50% the strikers/players in the box make a run across the defenders to attack it. Azpilicueta did the same on the otherside... in fact his crossing was probably worse. Yes the young guys play with a bit of a buzz maybe but even then at times Mason, Tammy etc gave the ball away or played it too soon/too much in certain situations. Its a double ended sword, I suppose they get the benefit of the doubt (perhaps rightly so) as they are still learning but again you could say they could be more precise at times too. Willian along with Tomori was the best player on the park (Abraham, Kovacic and Jorginho also did more than enough I felt but those 2 played a lot better than everyone else) for us hands down so dont see why a penalty taking discussion is again blowing everything out of the water (will be talks of him being disruptive or a egotistic wanker next again like usual as a way to try and justify getting him out the door ASAP other than footballing ability which everyone knows he blows hot and cold, doesnt score enough goals or assist enough, isnt the best player but I am sick of hearing this attitude thing, the Conte thing was done and dusted and he definitely wasnt the only one who didnt like him, Luiz and Hazard particularly didnt in the 2nd season, was childish to do the photo thing but still ffs if we had not sacked Conte... Luiz, Willian and Hazard would have left purely for the reason he was there). As I said after the game in this thread, missing a penalty isnt why we lost the game and sooner people get that into their minds the better. Yes we could of salvaged a draw from it but we should have been more clinical when we were on top and then we concede a truely awful goal from a set piece again (which organisation from set plays is definitely down to the coaching side of it at training as well as organising it on the pitch). Also not subbing Pulisic on for Mount was almost criminal I would say. We needed raw pace and ability in 1 v 1s to open up space like Willian did. Pedros better running in behind but Valencia sat deep and didnt give us that space at times. You don't have to score or assist to play well. Yes they help but how many times have we seen players play shit but still score or assist over the years? Willians general play (okay that chance he had to pass he should have) opened up the game for us to get running at the Valencia backline. It was unfortunate Mount got injured and Pedro had to come in but in the minutes he played he didnt exactly do anything outstanding either, although he probably would of grown into the match as he looked to be getting more involved before that tackle. How many times have we seen here changing managers yielding results? Yes Barca pumped them but ffs Barcelona playing pish or not have got geniune world class players in a lot of positions. Its not relatable to here where the only true one we have was out injured. What happens in a boardroom doesnt always directly affect what happens on the pitch, Valencia have got some very good players who showed it last night. Rodrigo, Gamerio, Kondogbia, Gaya, Garay, Cillessen, Pajero, not to mention Torres and Guedes who didnt start. The game in Spain will be very very tough. Particularly because we cannot keep clean sheets to save our lives and if thats the case come that game then they will be very confident of getting a few goals at home. Regardless for all Willians faults, Id love to have seen if we didnt start or play him at all last night. He was the man who in the attacking third did the most alongside Abraham. Also on Alonso, slow or not, he was steady. Yeah thats not always enough but what do yous want Frank to do? Give Ashley Cole a fucking contract? Pull a 16 y/o from the u23s? At home v Valencia? Get real folks. If Emersons injured then thats it tough shit, he has to play what he has avaliable.
-
Did we watch the same game.. they barely put a foot wrong all match.... as u said at end but even Alonso in the 2 games hes played since Emerson's injury has been decent enough despite his flaws. Internal issues or not Valencia have got good players and showed good fight last night as well as being threatening on the counter. If anyone thought we would of beat then with ridiculous ease then that is extremely arrogant considering how we drew with Sheffield and Leicester.
-
We had plenty of chances. Defend better we arent 1-0 down. More clinical earlier in the game it isnt 0-0. People are making more out of a missed pen than they should be (still doubt it should of even been given, VAR or not, still getting used to the change, bit ridiculous if you ask me the guys hand in a bad . As I said, we had plenty of chances... The way we played, the game probably should of been won before 65th minute, althougu we are becoming a team who play well but cant kill off games. This is hugely alarming.
-
The penalty has nothing to do with why we lost the game. We lost because again at a set piece we were caught napping. This element hasnt been good enough under Frank and Valencia had a few good training ground drilled corners/freekicks that caught us out too often. Frank and Jody have got to get in about and sort out whatever is happening for defending set plays/corners. Normally we arent that weak from them (havent been great compared to first season under Conte I would say) but thats now a equalizer from Leicester and a winner from Valencia that have cost us in a matter of a couple of games. Plus wasn't a Wolves goal from a corner last weekend?
-
Were Derby this bad at defending set plays under Frank? I mean we were bad at them under Sarri but not this bad. Definitely coaching issue. Can maybe say Kepa could/should of got a hand to it but its a really clever finish hits it into the ground difficult to save.

Lets be honest Neville is a bit of a twat. Raiola works with a huge percentage of the top players in Europe. Even if you dont agree with his methods, hes worked with huge players for years and will undoubtedly continue to do so to he packs it in. Unless Neville wants United to continue spending 80m on 40m players for instance cause they are English, then I dont see what the huge fuss is. Thing is it wasnt an issue when it was other clubs negotiating with Raiola either. Yes he gets a fee out of the deals, most agents do, but players have also been known to get a percentage of their transfer fee as well due to contractual clauses. Even then look at the players he has represented over the past. How many have gotten bad moves in terms of going to smaller clubs or whatever? Or been shafted for wages? Hes obviously very good at what he does despite everything else. Its just the way modern day football is and for me, the vast sums of money for TV deals is to blame for how its gone the last 10 years more than just agents. Especially in England. Even with FFP the tv deals are given clubs a huge chance of not coming into issue with FFP. Throw in sponsorship deals because companies all want to sponsor clubs in a league where the tv rights cost what must be close to 5bn per season? Then again another byproduct of that is clubs wantinf to sell to PL teams and a huge amount of players wanting to play there and get triple the salary theyd get elsewhere etc as well.
-
I would be more annoyed at Zidane taking off the only natural defensive/holding midfielder for a winger.... even if it was 3-0... as Madrids midfield and back 4 has been suspect for almost 18 months now.
-
Piatek is still needing to develop his game outside the box at times. Good predatory instincts and movement but when the ball doesnt come in and around the box/in behind he can become easy to mark as he doesnt drop in a lot or link quite as effectively, although hes not the worst at it and he has a good physical presence as well but doesn't seem to utilize it as much as he perhaps could. He 100% much prefers being on the shoulder running in behind though than coming to the ball. Still a very promising player but doubt hed of hit the ground running in the PL if we got him with Sarri.
-
Think when this deal is finally signed most of us will have aged at least 3 years. How in the fuck has it taken this long...? We are normally pretty efficient in tying players down with new contracts (Luiz, Pedro, Ruben, Zappacosta, Giroud, Mason, whomever else in the last year and a bit alone)...
-
Only thing I am concerned about is if the goals dry up, which may happen as Tammy is still young. His general player is decent but it is far from perfect. If Costa didnt score he was still able to occupy a defence for instance with his physique and clever movement. Drogba could occupy the CBs with his physique when not scoring etc. Good start and goal return from Tammy so far though, he and Mount have shown they can do it at this level but it is still early doors too we need to give these guys and Tomori the time to continue to grow at their own pace.
-
Changed the system today which was smart as it accommodates Alonsos strength more although he was still quite poor but still conceding goals.
-
Said it last season, and I will say it again, although I think everyone sees it now. If anybody thought Jorginho was average or holding our team back they were quite simply wrong. He has been good under Frank and the last 15 games of last season with Maurizio as well after the team had a sticky spell before the turn of the year. If he went to City with Pep everyone would of been gushing about him 100%. Without even mentioning his actually ability with the ball what has always stuck out to me is how willing he is to receive it and his leadership that was becoming more and more apparent after the bad spell we had last season. Frank also touched on it early doors in pre season. Then put his passing ability, composure and his very much continuously improving defensive contribution in too.. he is a top player. Obviously the team is still growing and does have faults but keeping Jorginho in the team is essential.
-
The last 6 or 7 months he has been really good. I think its form that shows that he is definitely worthy of a renewal. He is our first choice LB comfortably. We could wait longer but again undoubtedly other clubs will have noticed, Juventus especially who have wanted him before (and this summer). Wouldnt be surprised if there were other clubs too. Plus its not always as easy as offering a deal and it being signed the next day, as we have seen with CHO. Dont see why being in a rush is an issue? Its hardly as if we are offering him 180k after 10 Europs Leagues like certain others. It makes perfect sense.
-
Yeah seen the rumors. Idiot. Apparently said "shes coming home with me mate" too. Deserves a doing for that but not jumping on his legs etc.
-
Well deserved, hes starting to change my mind. Didnt think he was really gonna be good enough but hes really kicked on the last 6 or 7 months.
-
Dont think he will. Navas is 32 and a great GK, he could easily play regularly for 3 or 4 years at least. He will be first choice undoubtedly, Bulka would be 22 or 23 by then and probably not that much better off in terms of playing games although he did make a start for PSG recently hut would expect Navas to play every week. He could have went to a smaller club and gave himself a lot more.of a opportunity.
-
On a second note, must admit we looked soft under Sarri last year but this year is actually ridiculous. 2 teams who got promoted from the Championship have managed to play against us with ease in the second half of games. Doing things that in the larger scale of football are the simple things, recovering 1st and 2nd balls, workrate, being organised etc. Take the whole technical side of the game out of it and the team should be able to do this at least. It always is the 2nd half, does Frank tell them to relax or do the performance levels drop? It has happened at United, Leicester, Norwich and now Sheffield United.
-
Think he deserves the flak hes gotten this season compared to times last season. Reece in my eyes wont just come in and be like Cafu 2.0 but we need another fit RB so we can switch Azpi out for a week or 2 cause he is struggling hugely.
-
Lets be honest even at 2-0 we were pretty shite. Never created more than maybe 2 chances from open play (Kova and Tammys chances). A better performance from their GK for 1 of the 2 goals and for the other if their 2 CBs didnt cock up, we wouldnt of scored. Simple as that. If we keep playing like this for the next couple of months (which I wouldnt be surprised as this team and manager beeds time ) and results dont improve, with the clubs history and when someone like Max Allegri is sitting unemployed, who knows what will be going through the boards minds. Its the harsh reality of being at a club like Chelsea. On a positive note though, Tomori very reassured today. Billy Gilmour came on and obviously more minutes for Mason and Tammy. Be interested to see what Franks interview says. It is alarming how easy it is to score goals against us. Frigthening really.
