Starting to become even more worried about him. Really, I don’t think he warrants a place in the team at the moment based on what we have seen the last few games, his general play and finishing is poor. If Abraham, Pulisic and Ziyech were playing better he would be on the bench. 100%. He’s probably lucky they aren’t but it will be interesting to see how he does against Leeds because I think he will likely play that game. I would like to think though Havertz has made Tuchel think he is able to play in one of those roles as well v Leeds as well as the inevitability that Mason Mount will play (and deservedly so as he’s been a hugely consistent performer for us with Tuchel). I get Timo offers a threat in behind teams who play a high line but whats the point if he cannot put the ball in the net? He isnt very creative as many have alluded to or exactly the sort of player who looks as if he’s capable of deciding games at the moment. Having 1 PL goal and 1 assist since the turn of the year in a period of which we have played 11 games, is terrible. The argument was made of Frank’s tactics, Tuchel has come in and got a huge improvement out of most of the players and yes sometimes in games Werner has shown improvements but its like 1 step forward 2 steps backwards with him. Most games. I doubt hes going to get double figures in the PL this season at the rate hes going, his finishing needs major work. He isnt exactly a kid either, hes 24 years old, you would expect much more composure even more so from someone who got so many goals in Germany. Finishing/scoring goals isnt even to do with adapting to the league either before someone quotes me and says hes in his first PL season bla bla bla, its no excuse for missing a collection of big chances which you would back your money on Giroud and Abraham scoring as well as most top 10 PL strikers. Wouldn’t go as far as saying sell him as some suggested in the match thread but he has to hugely improve next season or he could find himself sitting on the bench a lot
-
I did think you maybe meant Werner but had to be sure. I think he will get better, just needs to seriously become much more clinical and match smart. Hes easily had at least close to 10 big chances minimum this season that he hasn’t scored due to poor finishing or poor positioning. That said, if he was scoring these easy chances you could forgive him for the other weaknesses in his game. I would like to see Pulisic start next game if Tuchel see’s Havertz as this sort of false 9/9 and a half or whatever they call it now ahead of Werner. Hes had plenty chances and ultimately hasnt been taking his big chances.

Mate what are you on about Tuchel for now, no idea what to make of your post 😂
-
Sell him maybe premature but make him do extra finishing and training for his first touch ASAP. Its desperately needed.
-
My granny would of scored there. Does everything right but doesn’t go across the keeper and even then, still probably should be scoring that. Have to be honest his finishing is hugely concerning.
-
Think the likes of Salah, Mane, Aguero, De Bruyne, Sterling, Hazard... other guys who have been doing it/did it over and over would disagree. Its normal to be excited by what Kai has shown tonight but its still one game and throwing that sort of quote out there is so naive it’s unbelievably ridiculous.

Oft Zouma thats not good. Fuck. Thiago Silva warming up by looks of it, so Azpi over to LCB and Christensen RCB then Thiago in the middle or? Nvm back on. ...
-
What a pass that is. Run is brilliant also. 6th PL goal of the season for Jorginho.
-
I dont think they will let us settle either though at the beginning of the game. They pressed early in the last game and disrupted our play and would say that contributed to why we didn’t manage to get any real fluidity and then they sort of sat off us a bit and just picked us off on the break.
-
They pressed us earlier in the season in moments in the first 10-15 minutes though to unsettle us when they beat us and I wouldn’t be surprised if they do the same in spells. They did resort to go long at times and played for second balls but they are physical and with James being available unlike the previous fixture, I wouldn’t think they will just sit in for 90 minutes. They only really sat in really after they scored because they could break on us as we were committing players to try get back into the game.

Will never ever reach the levels he was before but comfortably playing better than he did first 6 months of the season. Didn't think he would need a long time to get back into regular consistent performances tbf but 1.5 years basically rotting on the bench for Madrid maybe led to confidence issues on top of him having injuries and declining a bit. Still has got 5 goals, 2 assists in 5 starts and 6 sub appearances in the PL, not too bad going. Think hes into double figures in all comps also, which for the minutes hes played, isnt too bad.
-
Jesus is comparing everyone to Lampard, who is no longer our manager going to be a regular thing on here? Fuck sake 🤣 you’d think people forget we have Tuchel in charge. Hoping City tank these cunts. What the fuck never mind penalty first minute 🤣

Be a bit premature to assume Timo has 20+ PL goals in him next season. Or Havertz having 15+ considering they’ve only scored 6 between them this season in the PL. What player has gone from scoring 5 goals to 20 the following season? When do players score 20+ PL goals anyway in a season? Its uncommon. Pulisic if fully fit can get over 10 because he showed last season he is capable of arriving in the box and being clinical. When Werner and Havertz show they are capable of even getting 10+ in the PL then we can start talking about 20 or 15 goals. Only been Kane, Salah, Sterling, Aguero, Mane, Vardy, Aubamayang in recent seasons off top of my head who have got 20 or more. Been a few more Ings last season also and then if you go back further the likes of Suarez, Torres, Drogba, Lampard Yaya Toure etc but these types of players arent as common now, who get 20+ PL goals. And if they are, they are the top top players. Werner and Havertz are undeniably good players but wont get excited to they’ve at least done something of note.

Liverpool out of top 4 battle I reckon, Spurs and Villa played 2 games less. West Ham also have 2 games less. Klopp is going in the summer isnt he 🤣
-
Christensen did play on the right side of a back 3 in his first game under Conte. Against Burnley. I think. One game but maybe he’s capable of playing there if needed although still think hes going to be in the team in the middle for the game. He’s not exactly slow either as he showed v Mane on Thursday so could do a job on the right side if necessary I think.
-
Heres hoping haha.
-
Lets be honest he isnt going to be preferring Ziyech for much longer if he keeps playing as he is. Did you not watch v Liverpool? Or just assuming that because it was only 1-0 that we didnt make any decent opportunities that we just didnt finish?
-
Give him a new 2 year deal. I think he us definitely capable of getting close to 500 games for us. At RCB in this 3 if its persisted with it gives him much more chances of prolonging his career here.

Well, based on that, would say you clearly cant get credit wheres it due. Getting 7 goal involvements from midfield in 5 games is very good regardless of which team you play for. Thats obviously why he’s up for nomination. He reminds me of Suarez, clearly a top player, ruthless but a bit of a cunt at times for being a bit dramatic under minimal contact - which you see/have seen with a lot of top players, mainly guys like Luis Suarez, Sergio Ramos, Diego Costa, Pepe, Mo Salah, Neymar, Busquets back in the day. Its the sort of approach you see week in week out from European or South American players in other leagues. It baffles me that people are still severely disgusted by it in the PL... it happens most weeks in other leagues. I doubt many out of the nominations has more than 7 goal involvements in that period so don’t see why its such a crime that hes up for nomination 😂
-
Mate he had 7 goal involvements in the 5 games in February in the PL (4 goals 3 assists), I would understand if he had one or two but 7? Take the blue tinted specs off.
-
Fernandes?
-
Why did Juventus sack Sarri and not hire Inzaghi? Lazio 1-0 up v Juventus and deservedly so. Lazio maybe not doing so well this season but he has seriously overachieved with that group.
-
Talks we want to renew Silva. Dont think that will change. Christensen has been fantastic recently though so if Silva’s not 100% ready keep him in. Everton’s another tough test regardless so we need to be on our game and play in the manner we did v Atletico and Liverpool. Maybe we will see Silva back in for the games v Leeds and Atletico? I have no doubts Christensen has made huge steps though and could be hard to leave him out at the moment.
-
Theres still a huge chance we would be open to negotiations on that I would think. Say structuring it as 20m upfront and 6m in add ons or something. Unfortunately selling him would be a huge mistake but we have got Azpi, Rudiger, Christensen, Silva, Zouma who can all play as a CB in a back 3 and back 4 (maybe not Azpi but has done so for Spain IIRC and would be a last resort anyways). There is still a lot of talk we want to buy a CB so I wouldnt be surprised if Tomori and another CB are sold this summer. I wouldnt be surprised if Tuchel persists with a back 3 either based on the immediate improvement although he will undoubtedly do other systems as he is flexible.

Only two clear winners there out of those guys. Joao Cancelo has been one of the best in the PL and Europe in terms of performance this season IMO and Gundogan has undoubtedly been one of best City players this season by a mile also
