Be a bit premature to assume Timo has 20+ PL goals in him next season. Or Havertz having 15+ considering they’ve only scored 6 between them this season in the PL. What player has gone from scoring 5 goals to 20 the following season? When do players score 20+ PL goals anyway in a season? Its uncommon. Pulisic if fully fit can get over 10 because he showed last season he is capable of arriving in the box and being clinical. When Werner and Havertz show they are capable of even getting 10+ in the PL then we can start talking about 20 or 15 goals. Only been Kane, Salah, Sterling, Aguero, Mane, Vardy, Aubamayang in recent seasons off top of my head who have got 20 or more. Been a few more Ings last season also and then if you go back further the likes of Suarez, Torres, Drogba, Lampard Yaya Toure etc but these types of players arent as common now, who get 20+ PL goals. And if they are, they are the top top players. Werner and Havertz are undeniably good players but wont get excited to they’ve at least done something of note.

Liverpool out of top 4 battle I reckon, Spurs and Villa played 2 games less. West Ham also have 2 games less. Klopp is going in the summer isnt he 🤣

Christensen did play on the right side of a back 3 in his first game under Conte. Against Burnley. I think. One game but maybe he’s capable of playing there if needed although still think hes going to be in the team in the middle for the game. He’s not exactly slow either as he showed v Mane on Thursday so could do a job on the right side if necessary I think.

Give him a new 2 year deal. I think he us definitely capable of getting close to 500 games for us. At RCB in this 3 if its persisted with it gives him much more chances of prolonging his career here.

Well, based on that, would say you clearly cant get credit wheres it due. Getting 7 goal involvements from midfield in 5 games is very good regardless of which team you play for. Thats obviously why he’s up for nomination. He reminds me of Suarez, clearly a top player, ruthless but a bit of a cunt at times for being a bit dramatic under minimal contact - which you see/have seen with a lot of top players, mainly guys like Luis Suarez, Sergio Ramos, Diego Costa, Pepe, Mo Salah, Neymar, Busquets back in the day. Its the sort of approach you see week in week out from European or South American players in other leagues. It baffles me that people are still severely disgusted by it in the PL... it happens most weeks in other leagues. I doubt many out of the nominations has more than 7 goal involvements in that period so don’t see why its such a crime that hes up for nomination 😂

Mate he had 7 goal involvements in the 5 games in February in the PL (4 goals 3 assists), I would understand if he had one or two but 7? Take the blue tinted specs off.

Why did Juventus sack Sarri and not hire Inzaghi? Lazio 1-0 up v Juventus and deservedly so. Lazio maybe not doing so well this season but he has seriously overachieved with that group.

Talks we want to renew Silva. Dont think that will change. Christensen has been fantastic recently though so if Silva’s not 100% ready keep him in. Everton’s another tough test regardless so we need to be on our game and play in the manner we did v Atletico and Liverpool. Maybe we will see Silva back in for the games v Leeds and Atletico? I have no doubts Christensen has made huge steps though and could be hard to leave him out at the moment.

Theres still a huge chance we would be open to negotiations on that I would think. Say structuring it as 20m upfront and 6m in add ons or something. Unfortunately selling him would be a huge mistake but we have got Azpi, Rudiger, Christensen, Silva, Zouma who can all play as a CB in a back 3 and back 4 (maybe not Azpi but has done so for Spain IIRC and would be a last resort anyways). There is still a lot of talk we want to buy a CB so I wouldnt be surprised if Tomori and another CB are sold this summer. I wouldnt be surprised if Tuchel persists with a back 3 either based on the immediate improvement although he will undoubtedly do other systems as he is flexible.

Only two clear winners there out of those guys. Joao Cancelo has been one of the best in the PL and Europe in terms of performance this season IMO and Gundogan has undoubtedly been one of best City players this season by a mile also

Nothing to do with respecting Lampard or the job he did last season or whatever. Just its monotonous to log on look in a thread and see the same drivel basically. When theres more relevant/more recent things related to the games or Tuchel we could be talking about. Must be about the 283747th variation of how much better is Tuchel than Lampard in a period of about 10 games from the same guy. Not even an ounce of explanations or any analysis just a repetition of a mind numbingly unfunny/uninteresting comments which is obviously an attempt at trying to be witty/a dig to some people, which again I don’t see anyone complaining about Frank’s sacking on here now and haven’t done for the best part of a month. I get there is obviously an intent to wind people up but it goes from a bit of a joke and a laugh at first to consistently looking like a moron on a daily/weekly basis posting this when nobody is hugely interested in Franks sacking now or even disputing Tuchel being better. Yes one fluke season although the next season everytime Luiz played he was piss poor, resorting to his old self, in a back 3. Christensen has had some good games in a back 4 at times, contrary to belief, including in Germany. Not to the same level hes put in under Conte in a 3 and with Tuchel now but still some decent games. That wee run in the end of the season with Sarri including the Europa League final he was good, he didn’t play a lot of PL games but featured throughout the Europa League in 15 games and played well enough. Yet never mentioned. I think he’s taken the stick he got in the Villa game and before and has seriously improved. I think now he seems to be a lot more decisive and tries to be much more dominant in his actions. The physical side of the game has always been his downfall but you see him now winning big headers, not getting bullied, being more physical and ultimately much more confident.

Hope Atletico win. Be cool to see them win La Liga again, Simeone is an unbelievable manager and another La Liga on top of the other trophies hes won there would be another fantastic achievement. A win v Real puts them 8 points ahead of Real and Barca still with a game in hand I think.

We get it. You think Lampard wasnt even an average manager. Thing is, now, most will agree. Clearly, anyone who doubted Tuchel’s appointment has undoubtedly been convinced, even the pro Frank side. Posts are beginning to sound like a broken record, repeatedly dwelling on us sacking Lampard and replacing him with Tuchel. It will more so start to annoy some folk than make them laugh bud. Maybe something more relevant to the time, many agreed the time FL had to go but gets monotonous seeing the same comments or similar ones over and over...

He must not like Tuchel very much maybe 😆 yes we only got one goal and he talks about the little details but in general play, if they played like that the amount of raving from folk about them would be insane. That was a top performance from us for the best part of 70-75 minutes as there was moments we “suffered” as Tuchel put it, which at Anfield against Liverpool you would expect to do at some point. I would say the manner in which we played, is what the absolute top teams must do in big games, just unfortunately we only scored one goal. Not every top team can do what City do and score the 4 goals v Tottenham, Liverpool and whoever else or whatever. But the aspects of the performance was everything you want in a top performance outside of maybe not scoring more than one.

Yep. I am curious what our points total would be if we had someone like Tuchel in earlier or from day 1 of this season. Unrealistic obviously as the circumstances around his appointment was us replacing another manager but someone with clear ideas and a proper way of playing, based on what we’ve seen so far, we would probably be like at least 7-10 points better off I reckon. I know this season isn’t done and dont want to focus on too far ahead but a few players in and a strong finish in these 11 games, next season could be very interesting. I like what I am seeing from us with Tuchel though.

Ashley Cole saying Tuchel has the foundations from Franks spell including players and then the style... man oh man.... players right, style though completely wrong. Suppose they’re never going to fully give Tuchel credit for anything this season. Excellent performances from Jorginho, Kante, Christensen and Azpilicueta. Much more half chances/chances created tonight. Goals need to come more but huge signs of improvement.

Get Ziyech off. We are needing up the pitch, punts it back to their GK. Clueless. Hasnt happened for him, put Pulisic or CHO on. Mount has been fantastic his work rate and willingness to take the ball under pressure has been huge for us. Chilwell also making much more of an impression compared to last game.
