Agree with you, I didn't mean it that way. I meant that RVP is almost certainly not going to join us so if we put in a bid it'll just create disharmony for no reason. Anyway I'm not too sure about RVP as he's so ridiculously injury prone. I'd rather we sell Torres and get someone like Cavani but apparently he doesn't want to leave Napoli this summer

Roman won't be able to help himself lol I bet we'll offer 20 million or whatever for him. Torres will go crying to the media again and if Van Rapist goes to City, we'll have a fed-up Torres left

Another post on the official website: MY FIRST DAY: PART THREE The first day in any new workplace can often be a daunting one, but how does it feel when you join a top, Premier League football club? With players returning to Cobham later this week for the start of pre-season training, the official Chelsea website asks members of our squad to take a stroll down memory lane and recall how they felt on their very first day as a Chelsea player. BRANISLAV IVANOVIC On my first day I just remember being very confused, I can't recall too much about it actually. Avram Grant was the manager, I met him when I signed and I remember meeting all of the players for the first time which was really nice. I can also remember my debut; it was a 4-0 win away at Portsmouth in the Carling Cup and I played the full 90 minutes. It was a memorable game for me, I felt a bit strange because I'd been at the club for a long time without playing, but it was still very nice to finally be a part of everything. ROMELU LUKAKU I came in and spoke directly with Jose Bosingwa firstly because he's Congolese as well, so we speak the same language. The next person I met was Patrick van Aanholt. After that I met Didier Drogba and did some training; if I remember rightly we were working on our finishing. I then went home with Bosingwa and stayed with him and his family for a couple of weeks. Now I'm very close to him because he looked after me when I first arrived which I really appreciated, as well as Florent Malouda and Didier Drogba, who were both also very helpful. PAULO FERREIRA I was on my holidays after Euro' 2004, then I came to Harlington and met Jose [Mourinho], who I obviously already knew, and to have a look at the facilities. Then I went to Stamford Bridge to sign the contract before going back to my holiday. http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2792522,00.html

Nobody's saying that he didn't contribute anything at all, he certainly did. But think about it from this angle: if he had actually been sold, he would have been replaced by someone else who would have provided more than what Kalou offered. Yes he did provide a lot of defensive protection last season in the CL but over the last 3-4 years, we would have been better off *as a team* if he had been replaced. If only we'd brought in a proper right winger much earlier.... Basically imo he has benefitted from our board being unbelievably stupid between 2007-2010 and not doing any proper rebuilding with key positions in mind.
-
Kalou better than Crespo?! You've got to be kidding And whatever we say about Malouda, he had about 18-20 months of pure brilliance, one of the best wingers in the world when on form. Kalou has been nothing more than a mid-table team player during his entire spell here. This comparison against other players is just ridiculous. Don't know how anyone can say anything more than that he was a totally average player who showed no signs of potentially becoming a quality player. Yes, pound for pound he has been a better signing than Torres. But to compare the two is a joke. Torres was the best striker in the world at one stage. It was obviously a mistake to sign him but hindsight's a bitch.
-
From what I remember he was awful in the 1st half of that game. He was getting run over by their midfielders like crazy. 2nd half onwards he got better but those first 45 minutes were really dreadful imo
-
Cap you're taking this too far
-
Thank heavens. With RDM's appointment I was worried that he might actually consider keeping Kalou. Thanks for everything tho Kalou
-
The media will rip him apart though and he has a hot temper so I can see plenty of drama happening lol. Which is why I felt he should get more experience in another league before returning to the Prem so that he'd have something to back him up.
-
What a signing for that price!
-
Apologies for the angry rant in response to one of his posts lol. I wasn't really annoyed by his opinion on Ramires but rather by his reaction to other members' rebuttals. Anyway, sorry!

If this continues the thread is going to be locked lol so guys, please take this to the Pub thread

What the fuck is your problem? This is a CHELSEA FC forum, why are you even here? I didn't mind your posts in the RM thread, I quite enjoyed them tbh but the way you're talking about some of our players is annoying and all your "if RM wants player X we'll get him" bullshit is also agitating. We know Real are one of - if not the biggest club in the world but we don't need to see your posts implying the same thing over and over again. Again, this is a Chelsea forum, so you'll obviously see some biasness towards our own players. We don't need an outsider to come and criticize our viewpoints every single time. You said in another post that sometimes you're just trolling us but your constant smileys and "deal with it buddy"s and "my argument is logical and yours is flawed" nonsense is getting on my fucking nerves.
-
Don't think we should sell him yet. I would prefer if we kept him for another season. Unless of course we get Modric/Moutinho/someone else in. Sell Essien this season, Meireles next season IMO.
-
Wow. Fuck, I'm getting my hopes up now. Looks unbelievable. LOL chill out, FB is just having a laugh
-
Congrats Shon! Well deserved
-
Yeah, the photo-op was really fucked up by allowing so many people to stand to the left of and directly in front of JT & Lamps. But at the end of the day I really don't give a damn. Bosingwa deserves to be up there as much as anyone - he was one of the 13 heroes at the Nou Camp and I'd rather remember him for that than his 999 brainless moments. Definitely thankful he's gone though obviously

Or maybe a mod has to approve a user before allowing them access to those particular forums? When the user has reached 100 posts they could contact a mod/apply for access (if this kind of feature is possible) and get accepted if their posts are fine Hope none of the guests or new members saw what that guy did, or we'll end up with this forum getting spammed to death

Agree with this, he'll probably just be a squad player if he joins but I feel like we need to take advantage of being European Champions and lure some better players to the club. I know people feel like we already have too many players for our squad to try and sign more (potentially) world-class players but that's just not true, there are 60 over games every season and to be able to compete for the title and the CL you need excellent players and replacements in your team. Torres, Sturridge, Lukaku are a question mark. Malouda is pretty much worthless. De Bruyne & Marin are unproven. Out of our 'attack', only Hazard and Mata can be relied upon so if this does indeed happen, I hope it isn't our final piece of business in that area.
-
Well you won't have to worry about that, the bindippers ain't winning a 'major trophy' any time soon
-
Decent squad player I guess This could possibly be a leak to show Porto that we're not going to give into their ridiculous demands for Hulk
-
Apparently Spurs are having discussions with Laurent Blanc
-
heck yes I'd definitely sell him for 24m
-
Hi and welcome If I'm not wrong, he is on £170,000 a week
