I'd rather Balo than Costa. Think working with José again would be beneficial to him and would allow him to settle quickly with the team and he's already familiar with the league. Unlike at City he'd be first choice here and I'm sure his attitude would improve if he was "the man" and not in and out of the team. If we can't get Cavani he'd be my next choice. Still not completely sold on Costa.

Just imagine how utterly dominant a side we'd be with just two additions to the squad. A Kroos/Modric/Gündogan type next to Matic and a top class striker. We'd be right there with Bayern, Madrid, and Barca then.

I wish managers would demand that their players not be played in pointless friendlies. Didn't Sir Alex do that with someone? Could totally fuck us over if he misses even one match.

Usually like Durham on TalkSport because he takes the piss out of Arsenal and Spuds so much, but he really is the ultimate WUM. And Liverpool have spent a shit ton of cash in recent years. What's he on about there? Laughable. If Liverpool or Arsenal don't win the title this season I think they'll find it nearly impossible for the foreseeable future. Both City and ourselves will strengthen in key areas and our current players will only get better. Neither of those sides have the squads to challenge on multiple fronts and sustain a title challenge at the same time. That's why I think Liverpool will struggle next season when they're in the CL. They'll have to strengthen massively and keep Suarez in order to have a shot. Plus United will have their full attention and focus on the PL next season and will hugely invest in the summer so that's one more big side to contend with.

So Hodgson says Kyle Walker needs "at least" a week to reach fitness so that's one less thing to be concerned about for us. His pace can cause a few problems. Hope Willian/Schürlle and Hazard are really up for this becasue those Spuds fullbacks are there to be bent over. They struggle mightily to score against bad defenses so if we're dialed in and don't have any stupid mistakes we should be able to shut them down.

I'd love to see the side that beat City a couple weeks back. Luiz and Matic in midfield and Oscar can come off the bench in the second half for a spark.

Same here. Unfortunately, with Liverpool now looking nailed on for a CL place I don't think even that enormous amount would get him or if he'd even want to leave.Gotta hope Cavani can be had cause he's the next best option.

Liverpool ain't going anywhere are they? Have to hope we don't tire out as the season wears down because they'll be fresh for every single game. Can't afford to slip against any of the bad sides we play. With. Liverpool's attack they'll likely blow every small team off the pitch. It'll come down to the big clubs like ourselves and City to take points from them.

Shaw and Azpi as our fullbacks next season would be fucking beast! Really, really hope we get him. To have two super athletic fullbacks would be a real asset. Watching him now against Liverpool and man is he mature beyond his years. What a talent.

Who the hell could've foreseen that the worst player on the pitch for us in the first half would transform into Messi and score a hattrick? Awesome. Still concerning that when teams really go for it and play it around quickly they can easily cause us problems defensively. Even really poor sides like this. A better team with better players would've taken some of those very good opportunities that Fulham had. Hazard just flipped a switch at halftime. When he's aggressive like that he's unstoppable. Just have to hope he gets some rest and doesn't play midweek for Belgium.

Hazard doesn't play at a world class level and we look like a different team. Shürrle looks like a bottom table player so far. We SO badly need a creative mid next to Matic who can spray it around accurately and dictate play. Any world class striker like Suarez, Aguero, or RvP would've scored that blooper by the keeper. Torres even fucks that up.

Schürlle has been atrocious. Hard to watch.

they've gotten behind us several times and should've scored once. We can't string together more than one or two passes and keep lumping it over the top to Torres who's offside 5 times.

Very nice team. Should be more than enough firepower. Hopefully we press and play with a lot of energy. Don't allow them on to us and concede possession to a lesser side. Dominate the ball and and play with width. None of this narrow shit we sometimes play where the only shots we have are from 30 yards.

José wasn't in a very cheery mood there was he? Said the players haven't trained yet so we can probably expect some pretty dour football for parts of this one due to tired legs. Luckily Matic and Oscar will be very well rested and hopefully Luiz is fit and could maybe slot into midfield. Should still have more than enough to handle the worst side in the league.
