  1. He's a nice player for sure but I feel like our big midfield buy should be a super talented younger guy with loads of potential to improve even further. We already have a central midfielder nearing 30 in Cesc who will likely only decline from here on. Nainggolan isn't there yet but is getting to that age as well and has probably peaked. Don't get me wrong, I'd have him here, but I personally still have dreams of Simeone coming and bringing Koké with him. Probably unrealistic but that's the sort of player I want. Someone who's 24-25 and still has their best years in front of them.
  2. Hilarious, yes, but again I don't want them to sack him yet and have Mourinho lift them to a CL place. Hopefully their board is dumb enough to stick with that clueless buffoon until the summer.
  3. I don't trust our board to do what's necessary if Hiddink were kept on. Even though City's board knew all along that Pellegeno wasn't their long term manager they still went out and spent millions and millions on top players. I have a feeling that if we let him stay we'd have a repeat of last summer where we tell him to work with what's already here with maybe make a few bargain bin signings for depth. Plus Hazard would surely go if we did that.
  4. It'll probably make him want out even more, hahaha
  5. Yep. Pretty envious of their football to tell the truth. Dominate possession, every player they had on the pitch from the CB's to Maxwell the fullback, and every midfielder and attacker was comfortable on the ball. They passed absolute rings around us for much of that match. Used width like crazy which is always effective against us. When you look at just the starting XI's from last night there isn't much between them. They're way better in midfield and their approach to the game tactically are what makes the difference. PSG are set out with loads of confidence and play attacking football. This is how Chelsea should be playing with the talent we have. Of course it helps when FFP isn't an issue and you can afford a near world class player or at least a top one in every position plus be able to bring in Cavani off the bench.
  6. Besides the prospect of actually losing him, this is my biggest worry. Or that we'll buy a couple of decent players with potential to replace him rather than a superstar.
  7. I know we're all expecting it to take a monster, Gareth Bale sized bid for us to sell, but with the baffling decisions our board has made recently would you put it past them to accept something far below what he's actually worth? If De Bruyne was £55m, Sterling £50m, we sold Luiz for between £40-50m, and Stones is going to be £40m or more then surely, surely our board would start the bidding at about £80m? He's better than Bale and if fucking Spuds can get £80m for him then we should be getting around that for Hazard.
  8. Finally. We can once and for all stop being linked with this washed up, aging player
  9. Poor as he's been this season I hope he doesn't leave before seeing how things go under the new manager. New season, new manager, bolstered squad and he may return to the 2014/15 Hazard and we'd be title challengers and everyone's happy again. Can only imagine the outrage if we sell him for half of what Spuds got for Bale and replace him with a couple of average players. If he's dead set on leaving then we shouldn't even consider selling until we have top replacements already agreed.
  10. Honestly, it looks like he wants this season to end as badly as we all do.
  11. We so desperately need our best player to step his game up. Eden just seems so out of it. We'll have a very good chance to go through if he plays well in the 2nd leg. It looks like he's just going through the motions out there.
  12. Really sucks that Matic is out. This would've been the kind of game where he and Mikel partner in midfield.
  13. That PSG team really is scary on paper, my word. So envious of their midfield. Mikel & Cesc against Matuidi, Verratti, and Thiago Motta. Yikes.
  14. Nerves setting in. All I ask is for us not to embarrass ourselves and play a competitive match. For our players to realize what a huge deal this is and not go into a shell and get blasted off the pitch.
  15. His "defensive style" has him ahead of the richest club in the world currently with the most expensive attack. I'd take that, personally. Assuming we keep hold of Hazard and he returns to form we'd have a much better array of attacking players than he's got at Atleti as well. And that's before any signings.
  16. Although Pedro deserves to start and would be a useful weapon to have on the counter with his pace, I think Oscar will certainly be selected instead.
  17. None of the English or reputable Spanish media are picking up on it so I'm going to assume it's a fabricated rumor, unfortunately.
  18. That was before this shit season. In his mind now PSG may seem like a step up.
  19. Guus is spot on, of course. You go to PSG either if you're coming from a small club and it's a big step up or you've failed at a big club and want the easy life where you don't want to challenge yourself on a daily basis. In a way, PSG would sort of suit Hazard's personality and game to be honest. He can be his laid back self and won't be depended on to carry the huge load he does here. He wouldn't have to exert himself much in that league and would be surrounded by by far the best players in France. Life at PSG must be like an endless holiday. Get paid a fat wage to sleepwalk to a title every year and have a handfu of big matches per season in the CL.
