  1. I'm having a hard time believing this one.
  2. Maybe we'll get a Sturridge/Oscar moment between Conte and Radja today
  3. I don't think it's a matter of us waiting and waiting but rather a negotiating problem. Instead of just going in and paying what the clubs are seeking we fiddle around with low offers the board know won't be accepted. I bet Nainggolan can still be prized away even though Pjanic has already been sold but only if we pay up. Kante has a release clause. The only possible reason for that not being triggered has to be because of the Euro's. He has to have told any suitors that he doesn't want to talk during the tournament, Its just annoying that we were so spoiled during the summer of 2 years ago when we went out and signed Cesc, Costa, and Luis with almost no hitch or hassle. We saw how successful the strategy of getting business done early was. Looks like we'll be waiting for quite a while longer.
  4. Imagine if we don't get either Nainggolan or Kante after all the hype, rumors, and anticipation...
  5. Indeed. Is his offensive game fantastic? No. But with creative players around him and a box to box, dynamic partner in the middle of the park he's the perfect #6. For France he's got Matuidi next to him as the box to box and Pogba as the playmaker. I'm salivating at the thought of Kante as our DM, Nainggolan as our box to box, and Cesc as the playmaker. Remember Cesc at his best in his first season here and towards the end of this season? When he had time on the ball and ran the show? That's what we'd get with Kante and Nainggolan doing the leg work. We surely must be in for him.
  6. Even at age 28/29 he'd cost something like £50-60m now with the new TV money and him being the centerpiece of an up and coming West Ham who are moving to a new stadium. They'd refuse any and all bids.
  7. Makes no sense for United if they're also signing Zlatan. Rashford would never see the pitch.
  8. Signing of the season caliber player if someone gets him for that release clause. Performances like this are what will make it extremely difficult for us to sign him. PSG bound I would guess.
  9. This is the exact role Pedro can play and he's an actual, natural wide player. He's also much more likely to score goals than Oscar is these days.
  10. Where would Oscar even play? I think it's almost nailed on that Conte will play with either 3 in the middle of the pitch using a 4-3-3 or play with 2 strikers. That means no room for a player like Oscar who isn't effective out wide and is inferior to what we have already (nevermind who we'll sign) further back. We could most definitely cash in on him for a nice return rather than keeping him as a squad player.
  11. Azpi is the exact opposite type of fullback that Barca like. Total nonstarter.
  12. We sold them Mata, we sell them Matic, next season Hazard returns to his '14-'15 Player of the Year form and Mourinho comes for him next summer knowing Chelsea have no issue selling to a direct rival. Or Guardiola wants to bid for him. Just can't happen. Sets a terrible precedent.
  13. Shit. Pjanic going to their rival can't be good for our chances at their other star midfielder. Will they want to lose both in one summer? Man... Their fans would probably be livid.
  14. And you don't think that if Mou wants him yet again he won't surround him with players that will get the best out of him? Of course he will. Sell him if we get both Nainggolan and Kante, but no way on Earth sell him to United. You can't send that message to rivals that your players can be had. Do this and what's to stop City or United from making a run at Hazard or Wilian? Business between anyone that can potentially stop Chelsea from winning the league should be strictly off limits. Not even a discussion should take place.
  15. I'm hoping and wishing that it's not one or the other with Nainggolan and Kante. We should get both. Ship Mikel who will be completely redundant next season and Oscar. These two together with Cesc will make us genuine contenders and are perfect Conte players. Mikel is totally one dimensional and Oscar still doesn't even have a position.
  16. The dream. The best possible CB we could buy. Unfortunately will remain a dream.
  17. Hopefully Roma know about this "meeting." Wouldn't want a John Stones/Everton situation where they get pissed at us and refuse to do business.
  18. I'd be delighted with either Stones or Koulibaly, tbh.
  19. Wonder if that signing ends their interest in Stones. Surely they wouldn't go and spend £40m on him when they have Smalling and now Bailly? Anyways, that's now Arsenal, City, and United who have made significant signings. Spuds are having some striker who's apparently pretty good in for a medical today. We, meanwhile, are taking our sweet old time. Far from the time to worry or even be concerned but it's certainly strange that the club who needs the most work (us) is the most quiet.
  20. Literally never heard of him before this week when they were first linked. Any good?
  21. You don't think he'll get tired of walking Serie A year after year and want to make a step up somewhere? People act like just because it didn't work out in the end for him here that Mourinho is a spent force and isn't a draw any longer. He's still one of the 3 best managers in the world.
  22. Chance to work under Mourinho at one of the world's biggest clubs? Play with Zlatan, Martial, and whatever other big players they buy. Unfinished business at a club he left if that matters to him. Think he said in an interview a few months ago that he still likes United. Plus to top it all off he'd probably be the highest paid player in the world. I can easily see him going there. Or City, tbh.
  23. This is the sort of signing you make when you're maybe a player or two away from having a title winning squad and need an experienced player on a short term rental essentially. I know he's still a good player but surely we can get some other good player who's also about 10 years younger and has plenty of potential to get better. Lichtsteiner is only going to decline rather than get better. Just makes no sense.
  24. A 3 year contract for a player almost 33. Not only is that a stupid idea on its own, but it's completely against the clubs policy of 1 year contracts only for players 30 and over.
