Would be a beast again in a specific system which uses traditional wingers who smack in loads of crosses. Like Liverpool, we don't play that way so he'd struggle just as much here as he did there. He'd be good for a side like West Ham or Southampton. Even United.
-
I'd be excited if it were just about anyone else reporting it.
-
Benteke would have the same issues and struggles here as he does at Liverpool. I would hope we aren't stupid enough to sign him. We don't play with traditional, classic wingers or fullbacks who cross the ball constantly for a big lamp post #9 to head in. Both Hazard and Willian like to cut inside and play the ball on the ground. Hes completely incompatible with our personnel.

Been hard at work on my YouTube scouting () and I must say that Koulibaly looks the much better player than Rüdiger to me. Koulibaly looks like an absolute beast, in fact. He reminds me of Vincent Kompany at his best from a few years ago. I hope we land him, but I'd be fairly satisfied with Rüdiger.

Why would either Arsenal or United be after an expensive LB? United have Luke Shaw and Monreal just came off of an excellent season for Arsenal. We really should be in for him and should've bought him a couple of years ago instead of Luis. Doubt were even interested, though. Baba will be given a chance I think.

To be honest, as long as we also address all of our other problem areas I couldn't care less what we do when it comes to strikers. If we spunk a huge amount on Lukaku as if he's priority #1 and cheap out on CM and CB signings I'll be pissed off. Plus, there's this whole issue of Lukaku and Costa being completely incompatible as a pairing.
-
£60m, though!? Man...idk
-
Looks like more of a fullback in that first video. Also looks a bit slight for a CB. That concerning at all? Definitely comfortable on the ball, though.
-
If he leaves there and wants to stay on the PL I could see him going to one of these second tier, up and coming sides like Wet Spam. He'd be a show piece, "look at the caliber of player we can now attract" sort of signing for them.
-
Yeah. Seems really risky for clubs looking at players, though. A player has a fantastic tournament and then their current club jacks up the price knowing the new PL money is kicking in. I've always though that if I was a player and was looking for a move I'd want it all settled ASAP and before a major tournament. End speculation quickly so you can focus on only the tournament and nothing more.

Seems like every link to any player we've had by the media thus far has died. Except for Lukaku. Nainggolan, Pjanic, Manolas, Koulibaly...pretty much all of those rumors have died and all of them are now are linked with our rivals. Doesn't appear likely to me that we'll get any business done early and before the Euro's like I hoped we would. None of the other big PL sides are either surprisingly. Arsenal are the only side that have signed anyone yet. I expected a huge rush by all PL sides within a week of the season ending.

1) It's Tribal Football 2) He's far too old for us to be interested. Felipe Luis at 29 was pushing it. A 32 year old is out of the question.
-
You do have to admit, it would be a typical Mourinho move if he swooped in and signed Conte's supposed top target out of spite.
-
Me too. Really want to see Simeone win it. I just wonder if Real losing it would make them more likely to bid for Hazard... Their chairman will want to appease the angry fans if the don't win anything and a shiny new Galactico would do nicely.
-
True, but can you really see our now penny pinching board paying £60m or more on a single player like they did with Di Maria? Not sure I can.
-
Oscar would be easily replaced but who are we getting that's an upgrade on Willian without CL football?
-
Things I've learned over the last few days: there are a lot of Chelsea fans who would be happy to get rid of Willian. Couldn't believe the replies earlier today when the official Chelsea Twitter account tweeted something about him. Even some here want to cash in without thinking about it. Incredible. One of our most important players and will be next season as well.
-
My exact feelings. I have supreme confidence that if Conte can build his team he'll have us back where we should be. The club has to show me that they're serious about their ambitions before I can be truly excited.
-
I respect your opinion, but will you still not be bothered if he's winning titles there? Or if Conte fails spectacularly or even doesn't get us top 4 whilst José is killing it in Manchester? For me, it's too early to decide whether it's a good thing he's gone. I won't know that until this time next year.
-
Spot on. He'll be on his best behavior and want to present himself as classy like Guardiola. He'll talk about how he now has a responsibility to show a "giant club" in a good light. That is until the first couple of times he loses to any of his rivals.
-
I've been trying to think where he'd play under Mourinho there and I'm struggling. Think it's impossible, actually. Unless Mata is fine now with being a reserve player which we know he isn't. I figured José would make nice initially and play him but thinking about it more, nope. He'll obviously buy a new, top striker (Zlatan) and his captain who he's always loved as a player in Rooney will likely be his #10 which is by far Mata's best position. Martial will be his Hazard and he'll likely buy a new player for their right side. Zero chance Mou plays Mata out wide and he isn't great there anyways. There is no spot for him once again. He's got to flee Mourinho again. Back to Spain or to a smaller PL club. Can't see him fitting a Conte side either.
-
I unblocked you. Sorry for overreacting the other day. As for Rüdiger, I'll reserve judgement. Wouldn't be my ideal signing at CB but he's obviously very talented.
-
I just don't think that'll happen there. They have such a bottomless pit of cash they can simply throw money at superstars if things start getting stale. Top players will always be attracted to and want to play for Mourinho. I think this appointment for United will finally bring them up to where they "belong" when it comes to the transfer window. Paying silly Real Madrid/Barca prices for players. Can't see anything other than success for him and United. My hope is that Conte is given every opportunity to make sure he isn't too successful. Purely in terms of coaching skill and management Conte is every bit the equal to Mourinho. If the owner gives him the means we can compete with Mou and Pep. Anyways, this will sting for a while for me. Probably for the entire '16/17 season. If Chelsea struggles next season whilst Mourinho wins or almost wins the title in his first year it'll be torture. I've finally come around to the thinking that I refused to believe before; that he only ever came back to Chelsea because he had no alternatives. If Man United had offered him the job instead of Moyes he'd have taken it. The love affair for me is forever over. Forza Conte!

What the fuck is this? lol
