Nothing from Sky Zimbabwe yet? Or Sky Mongolia? Wake me when that happens...
-
Yep. We cannot afford to miss out on him at this point. Player wants to come, we want him, get it done. John Stones will cost around £50m and City will gladly pay it because he's a player they really want. Koulibaly is better than Stones so we should expect to pay big. I hope we do. He would immedietly improve our team drastically.
-
Chicharito was a regular for them even if he didn't start. Not really comparable. It seemed like we went months without even seeing Remy. He may as well have not been here.
-
I think he'd be another Remy. Looked very decent for a small team but would come here and never get a look in. A waste of a squad place.
-
Heart skipped a beat when I saw this thread blowing up. Thank goodness it was for no reason. This is the sort of signing that got us in the position we're in now. Buying mediocre players instead of quality and bloating the squad with deadwood.
-
Imagine if, even after he says he'd be interested in coming here, he ends up at Everton because we won't pay the money.
-
Surely those quotes are only going to piss De Laurentiis off and raise the price even more. He'll probably demand £60m for him now.
-
It's really astonishing that so many people believed the Mahrez/Adidas shirt thing. Don't think we have ever been interested in him, unfortunately. The club probably feel we're already set in that area.
-
So...many...walls of text...
-
The salt, the tears, the devastation if he somehow ended up here rather than Arsenal. The stuff dreams are made of... I don't know what I'd give to see it happen.
-
With the sheer amount of change to every other big club I think them having essentially the same group and manager is an advantage. Almost all of their players are settled and understand the "Arsenal way." Not to say they'd be favorites, but they'll have their best team in over a decade if they can add Mahrez.
-
This seems like such a lost cause by now. Strange that some of these rags are still linking us to him. His owner, his manager, and even Morata himself have basically put the nail in the cauffin on this, unfortunately.
-
Guess we better resign ourselves to seeing Mr. Cement Boots Ivanovic and Mr. Moonwalker Cahill for another season, lads! And JT, bless him, getting caught out of position and helplessly destroyed for pace on the counter. I just cringe at the thought of those things with the strength of the PL this season. Even the small teams have very dangerous players who can slaughter our current defense.
-
Liverpool don't make good signings. Should being the operative word there. I can't see £50m Sterling being merely a squad player. Nolito I think may be a starter up front with Agüero. Youre right, though, they both could use him as an upgrade. If they sell to accommodate him. But then again, you can say the same about us. We sell Cuadrado and Pedro and suddenly we have a place for him.
-
Sterling, De Bruyne, Silva, Nolito, Nasri...wtf would City need with Mahrez? Likewise Real Madrid who already struggle to fit in the likes of James and Isco. Honestly, I'm surprised Arsenal are even after him and aren't instead throwing everything at a world class striker. They have Walcott, Ox, and sometimes Ramsey who play on the right. Are they going to sell a couple of those? I can't see it. Not to mention they have that kid Iwobi whose place would be affected by signing another attacking mid. Man, I hope this doesn't happen. I like seeing Arsenal fans suffer. Their supporters are by far the worst on the internet whenever they make good signings.
-
We should just go and get Mustafi & Jonas Hector. They could both slot straight in to the team and are perfect players for the Conte system. Great on the ball and great going forward. Much easier to sign I would imagine coming from smaller, less rich clubs.
-
Oh, for FUCK sake! Should've signed him ages ago!
-
Nor do we need to be. We can spend more intelligently than before and still complete at the highest level. We can leave the ridiculous transfer fees to United and Madrid. We just spent £33m on a highly coveted young striker and another £32m on the most sought after midfielder in Europe after Pogba. Now we're apparently in the market for another few. Yeah, definitely seems like the club are worried. Mirror talking absolute SHIT as usual. Its true that the days of Chelsea being able to go in and easily blow everyone out of the water are over but we can still sign world class players.
-
I just think all of Willian's best attributes would be wasted in CM. His pace, dribbling ability and endless energy to run up and down the flanks for 90 minutes are what makes him great. He'd do a competent job in midfield, of course, but I'd rather have a specialist in there.
-
Lacazette? Arsenal would be scary as hell if they signed Mahrez and Lacazette! Luckily, Wenger doesn't usually spend that kind of cash. Let's hope it continues and he sticks with Giroud and Welbeck.
-
Think this could be a signing that would finally make Arsenal genuine title contenders until the very end. They finally have a proper, class midfielder in Xhaka and they have unbelievable attacking players. World class keeper, world class attacking players, very decent midfield. They're central defense may be a concern, but if you simply out score opponents it won't matter. Hope this is bullshit.
-
No one else reporting anything about it so I won't believe he's off there yet. Have to say, if he leaves Leicester, Arsenal are the most annoying place he could go to for me. I think he'd be incredible for them. He's perfect for the way they play. Even with Giroud up front an attacking trio behind him of Özil, Sanchez, and Mahrez will be unstoppable against many teams in the PL. Then you have the likes of Ramsey and Cazorla as well. I just wonder if Wenger would spend huge on a position they're already stacked in. Like us, they already have several players who occupy Mahrez's position.
-
That's what I like to hear! Get some defensive signings and everything else will be icing on the cake. Also, if we sell Cuadrado (and maybe even another surplus attacker) we should forget about Candreva and throw the kitchen sink at Mahrez. Have Kante recruit him, have his mate Drogba recruit him, and throw Leicester and offer. Maybe if we bid it'll turn his head and he'd push for the move.
-
We don't need players who are slight improvements or only as good as what we currently have. We need huge upgrades.
-
I know this is real life and not a video game, but honestly, who cares? Just pay the fucking money! We desperately need him.
