  1. Looking on Twitter and luckily some reputable journalists are saying he's likely heading to Everton. He's their level, not a player that a club with title ambitions should be after.
  2. Yeah, preseason was proof that Aina has the talent and ability to play games for us this season. But it also showed that he's got a long way to go before he's the undisputed first choice. He's still a kid, obviously. Like, what happens if Azpi picks up a bad injury? We'd be totally fucked. Ivanovic on one side and Aina on the other. We'd leak even more goals. We surely have to be bringing someone in.
  3. The fullback situation is kind of strange. Conte decided quickly that Baba wasn't good enough and we moved him out on loan hastily. You'd have thought that we would've only let him go if a replacement was imminent. Not a peep. Not even a link to one, really.
  4. I'd rather no one than mediocrity. This is like the "hey, we can't get Stones so let's get Djilobodji instead" mentality.
  5. Yep. Due to the new tv deal the days of clubs like Chelsea/UnitedArsenal etc being able to look past the likes of West Ham are gone. They have the personnel and coaching to beat anyone on their day. Every single PL team big or small can beat one another. Even the newly promoted sides.
  6. Seems the Italian clubs share a similar trait - they demand the moon and the stars for their players but when they go out and buy they expect a cheap deal.
  7. So not only are Napoli super stubborn with their own players, they're also stubborn with trying to buy. They just got a fortune for Higuain and are trying to lowball for their CB target.
  8. I had no idea he was Argentine. This whole time I thought he was Italian and was wondering why Conte didn't pick him for Italy this summer.
  9. Watch Mourinho come in and sign him within a day or two after our board have twiddled their thumbs all summer...
  10. This is true and totally depressing. Manchester fucking City have eclipsed us as a club. We simply cannot compete with either them or United for the upper echelon, super expensive players. That in itself wouldn't be a huge deal as long as we were at least bringing in players from that next level down, but we're doing fuck all! City finished in the top 4 and already had a very good squad and have now signed 7 players for ~£150m. United finished far above us and have spent around the same. Silence at Chelsea...
  11. Hopefully this is the signing that forces Roman to pull the finger out and get to signing more players. Maybe he'll think "how will we compete with that!?" and bring in a couple of top players. Mourinho is building a ridiculous team. We have to build one too or we'll be left behind.
  12. The definition of an impossible target. Plays for a Liga/CL contender, is their best player, and just signed a new deal a couple of months ago. Even if he could be had he'd probably cost Pogba money.
  13. To be honest, I won't even be mad if this is an elaborate troll by this guy. Some Grade A transfer muppetry.
  14. And more exciting for you personally than all those signings would be your mate Willian going to the bench.
  15. Replace Oscar with Cesc (can't believe I'm saying that) and that's one hell of a team.
  16. Nope. Nope. Nope. Noooooo. No. NO! Not getting my hopes up!
  17. No problem! Just read that this morning when he posted it. Echoes my sentiments exactly.
  18. You at least gonna give the author credit after copy/pasting his article, mate?
  19. We've been adamant that Costa isn't for sale. But I bet you if Atleti or some other club came in with a super high fee we'd sell him. Same goes for our CB search. If we throw a truck load of cash at Napoli for Koulibaly (who by all accounts wants to leave) they'll sell.
  20. They weren't available. Pogba, Mkhitaryan, and Sterling's clubs all wanted to keep their players. You think Juventus or Dortmund wanted to sell their best players? Hell no! They just received offers that were impossible to turn down. Every single one of those CB's I named could be had with the possible exception of Bonucci. And every single one of them is miles better than Terry and Cahill.
  21. Bonucci, Mustafi, Koulibaly, Manolas, Stones, Marquinos...any of these CB's would be an instant upgrade. Are all of them "available?" Maybe not, but we need to at least throw huge offers at their clubs and make them say no. Pogba wasn't available. Mkhitaryan wasn't available. Sterling wasn't available. No top players are unless you make their clubs an offer they can't refuse. Why have we not done that to bring in a CB which is the most important area that needed reinforcement? Being patient and "waiting for the right players" is what we were told last summer and look what happened.
  22. Biggest change I've noticed in the couple of preseason matches? He no long looks to pass first. He hasn't be slowing down to walking pace like he did al season last year. He gets the ball and immedietly looks to attack the opposition and use his unstoppable dribbling. Hopefully that's Conte encouraging him to do so. He need some to be a bit more like Neymar or Robben. More selfish and aggressive rather than always trying to look for teammates. He can't be stopped when he's running at people.
  23. Anyone know what their current best XI is? Have they made any significant signings this summer? I haven't payed attention to anything Wet Spam have done.
