Not sure I can see us scoring with this XI to be honest. Things are starting to become clearer, though. Conte views Ruben as a forward (which I don't agree with) and he considers Oscar a CM (which I do agree with). Also giving Aina the chance to solidify his place for the upcoming season. He keeps performing well and he surely has to start against West Ham.

Lacazette also plays in a cupcake league, to be fair. Lukaku with his power and scoring ability would net 25 or more goals in the French league.

Don't think we'd spend £60-70m on a striker whilst having Costa still here. Especially Lukaku who is so similar to him. It made sense in Morata's case because he could play with Diego. Lukaku & Costa would be ineffective I think.

Lukaku or Costa, I'd be happy either way. I was reluctant a few weeks back when the Lukaku rumors popped back up but the more I think about it the more I'm warming to it. Lukaku and Bats as the two-headed monster and flanked on either side by Hazard and Willian looks mouthwatering. And with Lukaku we wouldn't have to constantly worry about him losing his head or worry about niggling injuries. Costa, as great as he can be, is a ticking time bomb in both of those aspects. With Atleti now signing another striker I think any move for Costa is now off the table, though. Which means Lukaku is a no-go for us.

The only other big club who is after a striker is Arsenal and we all know they'd never spend the money necessary to sign Lukaku.

His technique is not great but he scores goals. He scores goals in shitty teams with shitty manager and average players providing service. I imagine he'll be much more effective under a world class manager and with players like Cesc, Hazard, Willian, etc feeding him. A strike partner should help, too.

Roman is seeing United and City massively overspending on young players and wants a toy of his own. To be honest, if Sterling was £50m and he's basically a headless chicken pace merchant with almost zero end product then Lukaku who is on pace to be one of the PL's highest ever scorers is worth more. It's just the way things work now. City are about to sign Stones for £50m, ffs! And Sané who is almost unproven at the highest level for nearly 50m. I'd welcome Lukaku as long as we strengthen the other areas of weakness.

Think Hazard's comments are much more concerning than Diego's vague picture. Hazard is literally irreplaceable whereas I genuinely think Lukaku could match Costa's output rather easily.

Still has the same problem he's always had, though. He has no end product. He's brilliant running with the ball down the flank but when he gets to the opponents box it's as if he doesn't quite know what to do.

That'll only serve to piss De Laurentiis off more and raise the price even higher. Seems to me that when you try to negotiate with Napoli you have to keep things calm and quiet. Otherwise the owner gets angry and shuts everything down.

As expected. Seems like we've hit a brick wall on every major transfer target in the past two years other than Kante. Stones, Pogba, Nainggolan, Morata, now Koulibaly. Don't like Ruben that high up the pitch. He needs to be running with the ball from slightly deeper rather than trying to run on to the ball like Costa or something. He was fairly invisible because of this. After a bright start from Willian we kind of just ignored the right side of our team as the half went on. Can also still see the warning signs due to the lack of pace in our defense. Caught out or nearly caught out several times. Further evidence that a new CB is an absolute necessity.
