  1. As with GK, I think the club are fine with the CB options we have for another season but everyone outside of Colwill is probably auditioning for their long term future again. We’ll go big for a star CB next summer if needed. Or maybe Anselmino/Mamdou Sarr have outstanding seasons out on loan and are ready for the first team.
  2. Just push and get Xavi done ASAP. I’ve already hyped myself up too much about the idea of him so if we don’t sign him at this point and instead go for Garnacho it’s going to feel even more depressing than before.
  3. Sounds like absolute bullshit put out by the United side to make themselves look like they triumphed over a bunch of rival clubs. Trying to mask their incompetence in taking so many weeks with that deal. There’s not a chance we’d move for Mbeumo when we have Neto, Estevão, and Palmer who can all play on that right wing. Quenda too when he comes next year.
  4. Donnarumma did apparently reject another contract offer from PSG. But if PSG of all clubs can’t meet his wage demands I don’t know why our name has been thrown around.
  5. If we pull the Simons deal off what I’ll like most about a bunch of the players coming in this summer is that we aren’t just going after guys who are good work rate and physically strong like we had in the team in the past. We’re adding genuine, super technically gifted ballers. João Pedro, Estevão, Gittens, and Xavi Simons are all super good with the ball at their feet. In years past there was a thought exercise I would always play in my head. If Pep Guardiola were suddenly Chelsea manager how many of our players would he fancy? The answer would likely have been not many because they weren’t comfortable enough on the ball. Now we’ll have a team full of guys who can play that sort of neat, intricate, quick passing football.
  6. I mean, their stance is still that he’s not for sale, isn’t it? Especially now that they’ve lost out on their 10th transfer target Ekitike. It’s jut\st that Liverpool have completely turned his head. Don’t think Newcastle have softened their stance.
  7. Simons could be such a key player in our team against certain opponents. And could also take a huge amount of the creative burden off of Palmer’s shoulders so he doesn’t have to carry us at times. Get this done before Arse try to pay us back for the Mudryk saga!
  8. Okay, brief has now gone out to the actual reliable guys. But they are all saying the move likely depends on outgoings. If so, hopefully he’s very committed to us and will be patient. We may need to move Jackson or Nkunku before getting him I guess? Feel like we need to be quick before Arse or even Liverpool turn their full attention to him and convince him over us.
  9. Got excited until I saw Plettigoal again. Damn it.
  10. The brief from all the reputable journalists have said as much with Rogers. If not off limits completely he’d probably cost £80m+. Plus after they pulled a Clearlake and sold their women’s team they apparently put themselves in a good place PSR wise. And from what I’ve seen on Twitter, Yildiz apparently just recently signed a new deal at Juve and has been given the #10 shirt. Feels like he’s the sort of young player they’re going to build their team around so it’s difficult for me to see them selling him.
  11. We know Rogers and Yildiz are virtually untouchable this summer so it’s between Garnacho and Simons surely. I pray we make the easy decision.
  12. I know there will be. I’m asking whether we’re comfortable right now after the sales we’ve already made or are we still under big pressure to sell more?
  13. So if the Veiga deal happens we’ll have raised about £100m between him, Madueke, and Petrović. Players who wouldn’t have played major roles here at all going forward. Very nice. Wonder how many more sizable sales are required for the club to feel completely comfortable with our finances.
  14. Unfortunately, Plettenberg is super hit or miss. One of those engagement farmers who throws a million things at the wall. Until Ornstein, Fab, or Matt Law say anything then I’m not moved.
  15. I’d be pleasantly surprised if we moved for Simons or any other attacker before selling one of Nkunku or Jackson. But I’m not sure we will.
  16. So we got João Pedro & Liam Delap for about the same as Liverpool are paying for Ekitike.
  17. The Sesko links with United are strange. Multiple other big PL clubs apparently cooled on him bevause the price was too high. So how would broke ass Man United afford him if the others didn’t want to touch him? Also, if you’re Leipzig who are about to see a fellow Bundesliga club sell their promising young striker to a PL team for €90-95m why would you agree to a single pound less than that for yours? I think the Jackson/Garnacho shit feels inevitable. 🫤
  18. Sarr straight back on loan to Strasbourg. We know that wasn’t the original intention and it comes completely out of the blue. Gave him a squad number and took him on tour. For this to come out of nowhere I wonder if that means a new defender is coming in?
  19. Only scenario I can think of is one of the newly promoted sides or one of the smaller clubs looking for a splashy “big name” to excite their supporters. Otherwise I can only see another loan or contract termination. Though, I don’t know how viable paying off someone on Sterling’s wages would be.
  20. I’d rather have Rogers if given the choice as well but from what I’ve been watching Simons looks like he has that Hazard-like super low center of gravity. As you say he’s really crafty on the ball and is difficult to bully and disposes. I don’t think he’d struggle in the PL. Looks like someone who could be a foul magnet just like Eden as well which could be very useful.
  21. Just the thought that we could buy Garnacho when super technical ballers like Xavi Simons, Rodrygo, or Fofana are there to be had is sickening. Could throw Eze in there too despite him being slightly older than what our club goes for these days. I just don’t see this huge potential that some in our recruitment team clearly do in Garnacho. Doesn’t strike me as a player who will ever be more than okay. And if that’s the case we may as well have kept Madueke.
  22. Think both fullbacks will be serious upgrades. Trent is capable of magical moments when attacking but is terrible defensively and Liverpool fans say he basically quit halfway through last season and had his head in Madrid. So if Frimpong can defend even a little bit I don’t think they miss him. And Kerkez should be a massive upgrade on the left side. Ekitike is the big gamble for them out of all their signings. But with the other crazy good attackers he’s going to be surrounded by the pressure for him to put up big numbers isn’t going to be there.
  23. Wonder how Klopp feels watching Liverpool finally spending like this after years and years of him being given a shoestring budget whilst trying to go toe to toe with free spending Pep and City for all those titles. He could’ve won 2-3 more PL titles if he had this sort of backing. Hard to see how they don’t repeat as champions this season unless this is just too much change too fast. Crazy to win the league at a canter and then change half the starting XI like this.
  24. Everyone thought Frankfurt were hilarious for demanding €100m for Ekitike when we were linked a month ago. And they were right. That’s an insane asking price for a dude who had 1 good but not even GREAT season. I’m glad we stayed away. But now Liverpool are actually going to almost pay that. Ekitike for €95m! Absolutely outrageous fee for someone who is so far from being the finished product.
  25. You guys think we should sell Renato Veiga or bring him back and use him? With the big clubs he’s linked with clearly he’s very highly rated. Has the potential to play a ton of minutes for us as cover for both Cucu and Levi. We will certainly at least double our money if we sell him judging by the reports but if he goes to a Bayern or Atleti and they develop him more he could turn into a £70m+ player who we’d massively regret letting go.
