  1. Come on, Xavi, reject Bayern please! Tell them thanks but no thanks! Save us from moving for fucking Garnacho!
  2. I think Hato is 100% going to happen but I don’t want to get too confident about Simons just yet. Every one of these reporters saying we’re pushing hard and advancing but that there’s still a concrete possibility that other clubs jump in and try to hijack him. I don’t want to get too emotionally invested in the move happenening because then if Arse for example hijack him it would be a gut punch. Bayern is the other name mentioned but surely if they’re after Luis Diaz they don’t want Xavi as well?
  3. Get them both done this week and that should be our transfer window done and dusted in terms of incomings. Then we’ve got the entire last several weeks of the window to sell unwanted players and find great loans for others.
  4. The Hato move seems to be happening at lightning speed. We must have been working on him behind the scenes for quite a while.
  5. If we sign Simons and then still go after Garnacho then I am really scratching my head.
  6. I love Tosin and there’s zero chance I’d think of selling him. A leader, very well liked and respected by his teammates, very solid almost every time he’s on the pitch, and importantly isn’t someone who is going to make a fuss if he doesn’t start every match. He’s the picture perfect squad player for a club like this. All these mentions of Wes Fofana in some of these stories is strange to me. There should be ZERO planning of the squad or team around him. His knees are a ticking time bomb that are likely to blow up at any moment he’s on the pitch.
  7. From what I’ve seen he is still a bit raw but is super talented. Basically the perfect understudy to the more experienced Cucu.
  8. Yesssss! Imagine how cool it would be to have a Double Dutch announcement. Xavi and Hato both in that beautiful orange Netherlands kit, they both snap their fingers are suddenly in the Chelsea kit 😍😍😍
  9. Same. Guehi is not a CB that takes us up a level which I’ve said in this thread before when we were linked with him months ago. He and Trev are at the same level so why bother selling the one who’s already here and spending big on one who isn’t better? As I said yesterday, I don’t think the club is thinking about an out and out CB this window. We have Trev, Tosin, and Fofana to rotate at RCB and we have Colwill and Badiashile at LCB. Hopefully Hato is brought in who can fill in on the left in emergency situations. Three options for each spot is enough. Next summer is when we can go big focusing on CB if needed depending on how the season goes.
  10. Yep. I think they’re a prime candidate to drop. And could be one of those unfortunate clubs that may struggle to come back up. Losing a single key player for these small clubs is normal and survivable. Losing their manager who built them to become what they are AND losing several of their best players could prove fatal.
  11. Be hilarious if after that whole saga and all the hype Gyokeres comes to the PL and just puts up bang average numbers.
  12. At least Brentford should be a team we can likely cross off the “these guys are a bitch to play against” list of smaller PL clubs this coming season. Their team is getting systemically dismantled this window.
  13. The hope I guess for all of the other contenders is that with all those changes to their team Liverpool will take a while to gel and that Wirtz, Ekitike, and Frimpong don’t take to the PL smoothly.
  14. Arse are finally set to finalize the Gyokeres deal according to Ornstein. Means they could potentially turn their attention to Simons so hopefully we are really pushing before they start speaking to him. Or they move for Eze instead.
  15. Yep. Think the plan is to hope Sanchez is solid for this season and also hope Penders replicates Peteović at Strasbourg. Then we can flip Sanchez next summer and bring back Penders as our #1. Crazy this rumor is flaring up again. I remember being very lukewarm and skeptical when we first brought him back from Palace. But he has been excellent for the most part and clearly loves playing here. Only scenario I can think of making sense is if we are near the deadline and still haven’t been able to to shift Nkunku/Jackson/deadwood and we’d have Trev as an emergency option to cash in on. No chance should we just sell him based on anything else. Especially not because of Fofana who may miss 90% of the season as he always seems to.
  16. As with GK, I think the club are fine with the CB options we have for another season but everyone outside of Colwill is probably auditioning for their long term future again. We’ll go big for a star CB next summer if needed. Or maybe Anselmino/Mamdou Sarr have outstanding seasons out on loan and are ready for the first team.
  17. Just push and get Xavi done ASAP. I’ve already hyped myself up too much about the idea of him so if we don’t sign him at this point and instead go for Garnacho it’s going to feel even more depressing than before.
  18. Sounds like absolute bullshit put out by the United side to make themselves look like they triumphed over a bunch of rival clubs. Trying to mask their incompetence in taking so many weeks with that deal. There’s not a chance we’d move for Mbeumo when we have Neto, Estevão, and Palmer who can all play on that right wing. Quenda too when he comes next year.
  19. Donnarumma did apparently reject another contract offer from PSG. But if PSG of all clubs can’t meet his wage demands I don’t know why our name has been thrown around.
  20. If we pull the Simons deal off what I’ll like most about a bunch of the players coming in this summer is that we aren’t just going after guys who are good work rate and physically strong like we had in the team in the past. We’re adding genuine, super technically gifted ballers. João Pedro, Estevão, Gittens, and Xavi Simons are all super good with the ball at their feet. In years past there was a thought exercise I would always play in my head. If Pep Guardiola were suddenly Chelsea manager how many of our players would he fancy? The answer would likely have been not many because they weren’t comfortable enough on the ball. Now we’ll have a team full of guys who can play that sort of neat, intricate, quick passing football.
  21. I mean, their stance is still that he’s not for sale, isn’t it? Especially now that they’ve lost out on their 10th transfer target Ekitike. It’s jut\st that Liverpool have completely turned his head. Don’t think Newcastle have softened their stance.
  22. Simons could be such a key player in our team against certain opponents. And could also take a huge amount of the creative burden off of Palmer’s shoulders so he doesn’t have to carry us at times. Get this done before Arse try to pay us back for the Mudryk saga!
  23. Okay, brief has now gone out to the actual reliable guys. But they are all saying the move likely depends on outgoings. If so, hopefully he’s very committed to us and will be patient. We may need to move Jackson or Nkunku before getting him I guess? Feel like we need to be quick before Arse or even Liverpool turn their full attention to him and convince him over us.
  24. Got excited until I saw Plettigoal again. Damn it.
  25. The brief from all the reputable journalists have said as much with Rogers. If not off limits completely he’d probably cost £80m+. Plus after they pulled a Clearlake and sold their women’s team they apparently put themselves in a good place PSR wise. And from what I’ve seen on Twitter, Yildiz apparently just recently signed a new deal at Juve and has been given the #10 shirt. Feels like he’s the sort of young player they’re going to build their team around so it’s difficult for me to see them selling him.
