  1. At this point we should be HOPING it’s Reece in midfield and not Gusto. It’s the better of a shit situation.
  2. Was reported injured in training before the last game.
  3. Actually a bit surprised Maresca didn’t go with 2 up top to have both João Pedro AND Delap try to press and harass the PSG defense in hopes of unsettling them a bit.
  4. I really don’t like how Fabrizio keeps reiterating that Garnacho wants to remain in the PL. Makes me think he’s absolutely still an option for us. 🤢🤢🤢
  5. We sent Mount to United coming off of a poor season and with only a year left in his contract for £55m. If they come in for Jackson who, despite being super frustrating, has proven that he can score goals in a top league then we shouldn’t sell for a pound less than £70m. His upside and potential is WAY higher than Madueke’s who will go for £52m. Unless we go out and make a marquee statement attacking signing before the window closes I’m coming around to keeping Jackson. I was all for selling him before but having thought about it I’d keep him unless we get 70m+. Imagine an unlucky scenario where in match week 3 or something one of João Pedro or Delap snap an ankle and are out for months and we had sold Jackson. We’d be right back in the situation we found ourselves in last season where we had only 1 senior striker.
  6. How do you say yes to Newcastle if you’re Ekitike unless you e been assured Isak is going and you’ll be starting?
  7. He might regret signing this new deal if Arse sign Eze still after getting Madueke.
  8. Newcastle were the first team that popped in my head. Yes they have Isak but they badly need another striker. Not only because Isak has injury history but because it’s pretty much him or nobody right now for them I think. They have been linked with Ekitike in recent day and Jackson could be a cheaper alternative. I personally wouldn’t sell him to them unless we get £75m or something too good to turn down.
  9. As frustrating and infuriating as Jackson is sometimes (well, a lot of the time) I don’t think it would be wise to sell him to any club in the PL that will be competing with us for a UCL place. That’s a couple of times now that Fabrizio has tweeted about multiple PL clubs being interested. But unless he’d agree to go to somewhere like that’s relatively “harmless” to us (which I doubt) then I think it’s too risky and could bite us in the ass. Only way I’d sell him to an actual rival is if we got someone we really want back like Rogers.
  10. Yeah, perhaps. But I wouldn’t have played Noni at all in that case.
  11. Judging by how each has been used in the CWC, I can actually imagine a scenario where we sell Madueke and Jackson, keep Nkunku, and then make 1 more attacking signing. How else do you explain Maresca continuing to start Nkunku and saying “he deserves it” and stuff like that? He obviously likes what Christo is doing in training.
  12. Villa would definitely be a great club for him. He’d do great under Emery.
  13. Agree that Noni isn’t a bad footballer, just a mega frustrating one who has 1 good game in like 8. If Arse are bringing him in to start out of position on the left it’s going to be comical to see their reactions. He’s going to have the odd game or run of games where he looks super dangerous just like he had here. But over a whole season he’s not good enough to be a starter for a title challenger.
  14. I don’t think Maresca will want to go into a grueling season with so many competitions having only 2 strikers in Delap and João Pedro. So unless he feels like Guiu is ready to step up and play more regularly I wonder what the plan will be of Jackson goes?
  15. Regarding Nico Jackson potentially leaving, the only way I can see it is if a PL club comes in hard for him. I’m seeing reports on Twitter that Milan love him and “dream” of him but you know these cheap ass Italian clubs will never come close to the price we’d ask. Knowing them they’d ask for a loan. I’d guess we’d ask for between £65-70m for him. Nobody other than a PL club is paying that. And then there’s the whole question of whether Jackson would even agree to go to a smaller club which I doubt.
  16. Everything probably on hold til after the final on Sunday. Then we’ll probably quickly see a bunch of outgoings.
  17. Spuds going to buy only #10’s this window? When they already have Maddison? These are solid players they’re buying but I don’t see how you fit Kudus, Maddison, Gibbs-White, and Kulusevski in the same team. Guess the answer is you don’t but it would be weird for Frank to come in and immediately bench Spuds’ best players for these expensive new signings. Very un-Spuds like transfer window. Seems they’re actually going to be spending serious money.
  18. Penders going to Strasbourg is great. A season starting for a club at a decent level like that is perfect. If he’s as good as the scouts who pushed to sign him for a lot of money say he is then we endure 1 last season of Sanchez and then Penders can take over this time next year. In other news, Fabrizio now saying Napoli are NOT working on Garnacho now. That means there’s still a chance our board make a huge mistake and go for him once Noni is out the door. Ffs…was hoping Napoli saved us from ourselves.
  19. The Arse fan meltdown over Madueke is historic. I’ve never seen that fanbase this apoplectic about a potential signing. 🤣🤣🤣 I cannot even imagine what will happen if we go out and replace Noni with someone better.
  20. Reece is fine, right? We just better not see fucking Gusto inverting and Reece on the bench for this or we’ve basically forfeited the match from the off.
  21. With that outstanding midfield 3 they have and with how crazy dangerous they are on the counter with Dembele, Doué, and Kvara it sure would’ve been nice to have Lavia for this one to at least match their numbers in there and be more solid defensively. I worry about Caicedo getting overrun assuming he’s fit.
  22. I just want us to give a good account of ourselves and not get smashed like Real Madrid just did. Make it respectable even if we lose in the end.
  23. He seems like the ultimate ate flat track bully or fair weather star to me. When things are going well and Madrid are vastly superior to their opponents he can look amazing. But he disappears often against the best teams. And I don’t think I’ve ever seen him play well for Brazil.
  24. Yeah, PSG are insanely good but Real Madrid’s defending and effort has been a complete joke. The body language and the level of care are abysmal. They look like they’d given up just a few minutes in. Madrid are really nothing special in the middle of the park or in defense these days.
  25. Nah, I’m over Kudus. We need a natural LW rather than a #10/second striker type now that Pedro is signed.
