This is the team I wanna see tonight 

I know this thread is more on the negative side, but to put a different perspective on here, I think this will be a good window. Not saying it is the best, or that they have nailed it so far, but they have brought in some quality players. Delap, Gittens, Estevao, and Joao Pedro undoubtedly improve the attack. Essugo and Santos improve midfield depth. 
This team is better than last year's. I know we all want them to go out and bring in world-class players at winger, GK, and CB, but it just isn't the way the team works anymore.  Also, as dreadful as the defending seemed last season, Chelsea still allowed among the fewest goals in the prem, but many times struggled to score. The attack is better, so they did fix a glaring issue in the team.
I would love to see a top CB brought in still, and there is still a desperate need for a LB, and I hope it is Hato. I think that would be a great transfer. 
But overall, I think this window deserves more credit than it is being given on here, and they are a couple of players away from having a great transfer window.

Which also raises another question. 
5 weeks exactly from CWC final to opening PL game. Give players 3 full weeks at least, no need for long pre season. They need to enjoy after long and successful season. 

I like the early signings of Pedro and Delap, both look really physical and tall, Im all for these type of players bringing much more aggression and physical aspect to the team.

George and Guiu have to go on loan, there is just no place for them in this squad right now. Both would benefit from Championship loans, but both need to be playing all the time even if it's a PL side who can guarantee game time.
We have a lot of getting rid to do, the likes of Chilwell, Sterling, Veiga, Ugo, Carney, Felix, Badishille, Nkuknu, Chalobah and probably a few I have missed out. You can debate all day who will and won't be sold or loan but there is a lot of deadwood amongst that lot and we need to get rid of most of that lot. There is a shit ton of wages sat there as well that can be utilized into new transfers or put back into the club.

Good signing and a bit of a no brainer at just £30m. But can’t help but feel underwhelmed if he’s our one and only forward signing considering the other names available.

I just think the rest of the buys are a risk at their prices. Delap for 30 mil? No brainer. 
 
Also I can’t be the only one that sees him as a bit of a baby Gyokeres? Similar strengths and play styles imo. Gyokeres looks dog shit at headers though. 
 
If Delap stinks it up, it’s 30 mil and easy to recoup. Especially on homegrown talent. 
If Etikite sucks we look like idiots spending 90 odd million. 
Same with Gyokeres. 
 
I remember people on here telling me Morata finally gave us a proper finisher. I remember being one of the people saying Lukaku would be beast this time around. The list goes on for forwards we have taken turns being wrong on. 
 
Salah was value for money. Haaland too. Isak. I just don’t see any of these guys as sure fire studs like Haaland so it’s not worth the risk. 

Unrelated to the trophy but Isco was class and is still class.  Great player

Disagree. He is one of the few we have that is a real competitor with a bit of edge to him. He started to find his feet finally learning how to play as more of an 8. He has a high ceiling and will enter his prime in a year or two.
Given what we paid for him and where we've finally got to with him it would be silly to sell him unless its for a fee that nobody would ever pay...

Guy is smart. 
I still think we should continue with him next season despite how we finish this season. 
First season was always going to be up and down. But I seen enough from him that I want him one more season. 
Next season we should see some increase improvement. Especially with a summer transfer window where we can get address better the squad. 
That being said people should calm down this season and be more strict next one.

I honestly thought Jackson was the best player on the pitch in the first half against Bournemouth. Palmer goal came from a fantastic solo play by Jackson where he beat 2 players and then produced a weighted pass that did not even require a first touch by Cole -- so much he simply fainted a shot and then applied the finish.
Moments later, on another solo play, he hit the post. Yes, he then missed from a header, which is his glaring weakness. It really shouldn't be news by now, which is the reason I've been personally asking for a striker option who is strong in the air.
Noni plays like shit, but nobody talks about it. Sancho produces nice touches, but does not contribute to anything tangible. Isn't talking about jackson in todays game a bit silly? We played like shit at home! It was a 50/50 game against Bournemouth!

I envy your optimism, I really do. I remember last season you predicted us getting top 4 in a match thread sometime in spring. Nothing wrong with that. But I always have the urge to remain as realistic as possible with the typical German tendency for pessimism. I agree, our midfield is more talented than theirs overall. Our attack has more depth and arguably also a more diverse technical profile but you know how it goes. Attack wins games, defence wins championships.
what counts when winning titles besides quality and depth is experience and mentality. Liverpool are a well oiled machine, that squad has been playing together for years mostly. Most of their top performers are somewhere around their prime. This probably their last chance and with Klopp gone they might have that additional edge. If salah or VVD get injured for longer time, it is a different story. Yet, I honestly also don’t see us finishing over mancity and arsenal for similar reasons. But we are not far off those either and a lot better than the rest while having a super young squad that might still improve for years to come, player for player.  Time is on our side. Save any further Clownlake bottlejobs, if this team stays together plus a couple of key additions it will go far 

Exactly the same things have been said about Solanke when he was at Chelsea and Liverpool. He ultimately exploded last season, Spurs have now taken the risk, but it's still unsure wheter he can maintain that level or back to mediocrity.
Difference between top players and Championship-level players is very small actually. There are hundreds or greatly talented players with insane potential around, but ability of making quick and good decisions and putting up with stress at the highest level makes the difference, as well as showing flexibility and responding positively to change(new coach, new system etc.)
Mudryk clearly is talented and quick AF but it is also clear he is lacking confidence very much and seems unable to adapt, evolve. Just look at Madueke, they arrived at the same time, he hardly got any chances at the beginning, but one can see he believes in himself and always trying to impress, even it means he seems selfish and wasteful at times. He improved a lot and he definetly improved his position in the squad in the last 18 months, while Mudry going deeper and deeper. Noni always asking for the ball and looking to score goals, Mudryk is hiding behind defenders not to receive the ball and making safe passes not to embarrass himself. This behaviour on the pitch is not taking him anywhere.
 
Imo, Mudryk definetly needs a loan to a team where he can be the star player, run the show and enjoy himself, things which he clearly doesn't at Chelsea. I have doubts wheter he is capable to turn things around at this point. I want to say I am cheering for him, but for me he is not a likeable charachter at all.

Ofc they are. They have the same manager for 7 years(and not even a crap one) who build the whole squad himself. Almost all of his key players have been there for 4+ years, they are a TEAM.
We are a large group of players, selected by several different coaches with several different styles, our longest serving players(who are in the rotation) have been here for like 1.5 seasons.. 
Why wouldn’t City be miles ahead us? Hard work and continuity pays off, it would be a miracle if the mess we have been doing recent years would lead into a top team instantly.
