I think after all of this we can now see how good of a defender Silva is, how many times does he cover Luiz when he runs out or forgets to mark his man.. Luiz gets the headlines because he's allowed to take risk, he's passionate and can score the odd goal but for me Silva is the real deal. It was like when we used to partner Luiz with Cahill, both defenders need a leader next to them otherwise they look lost, that's why Terry is important, he can read the game so well.

How can a CB constantly run past his midfield? literally every time he had the ball he ran forward like a mad man... not mention his poor marking for the goals, this guy has no awareness at all, possibly the worst defensive display I have ever seen at this level.

I honestly don't see this happening at all, no credible sources are reporting it.

Lambert - £4 million Lallana - £25 million Lovren - £20 million Markovic - £25 million Origi - £11 million = £85 million Markovic is talented but what I've heard he's very but inconsistent, Origi had a decent WC i thought, he seems good technically but is he ready for the PL? I'm not too sure tbh, he could be loaned back out. On paper it seems like a lot of money for those players but who knows what Rodgers has in mind.

I think with Luis we already have a world class left back coming in, he'll give us three or four good years. When he starts to decline we would have hopefully already signed a young English left back. Mourinho recently said he wants more English players and i agree, but that doesn't mean buying a player because he's English, they have to be good and have potential. I hope that Left back comes from our youth academy and we're willing to give him a chance but if not i'm sure another talented LB dubbed the new 'Luke Shaw' will come up in a few years.

Let me get this straight, Real wanted Ramires, we declined so instead they sign Kroos? they are completely different players, to me it seemed like Carlo wanted to add the pace and legs of Ramires in the middle, so it just seems weird that they now buy Kroos, when he obviously doesn't offer that.

I was watching some 'Fabregas vs' YouTube videos, what was evident was the difference in styles between Arsenal and Barcelona, you could tell he wasn't used to Barca's slow-tempo, shot passing style. when Fabregas was at Arsenal they played at a high tempo and he was encouraged to take risks. Just compare these two videos, you could tell he never suited their (Barca) style and in a way he was restricted.

It's funny all three are pretty good fk takers, Rakitic is decent as well. I could actually imagine Suarez and Messi fighting over who takes the fks

In extra time he played well when moved to the left, but once he scored the Goal (fantastic finish but Lukaku made it) US had to go for it and it meant the whole team had so much space on the counter. Hopefully we'll continue our 'high pressing' next season, we scrapped it during the mid point of the season and instead sat back and tried to counter. Mourinho did say a few weeks back that we're going to play better football, so i'd expect it to return. The game at home against Liverpool was the best example, in the first half especially we were unbelievable i thought.

He's very hit and miss i feel, one match he can have the control and touch of Zidane (OTT? ) , the next match he can look like Ramires on the ball... i don't know what it is, i'm hoping next season will be his year.
