  1. Not at Stamford Bridge he doesn't, last season vs City we brought an extra striker on.
  2. Tbf there was many games Mata was borderline anonymous then popped up with goal/assist and got POTY twice.
  3. This season he seems to play better and make more things happen when we aren't playing well, if im honest ill much prefer that than vice versa.
  4. Ok, let's tell our winger's never to track back. So who will help Ivan out when Baines and Piennar are bombing forward and combining on the left?
  5. When it gets to 2 years it starts to creep into player control territory.
  6. This is why Jose likes a settled Xl, no way will we be playing this well with a lot of rotation.
  7. The Real team this season is far to attack minded, that's all right in La Liga a lot of the time but against a manager like Simeone who has a well drilled and balanced side Real will have problems, that's why im supremely confident we can beat them if we get them in the CL.Real won 3 and lost 1 vs LetI last season, the reason Atletico are starting to beat them regularly is for the reason I gave.
  8. I disagree, I thought Torres was a level below Eto'o, Villa, Drogba etc etc, technically Torres never really "had it" he had brilliant pace and power. I looked back at his prime in some detail when he started struggling for us and he actually was quite limited with his overall technical game, he never had the natural touch were the ball just stuck to his feet. If he was that good technically he wouldn't have declined so steeply, you don't go from the ball sticking to your foot to being unable to trap a bag of cement. Danny Murphy touched up on that too. Also Torres was 29 last season, that's suppose to be peak years.
  9. He has made a mug out of the Arsenal and Spurs fans who cite money as a reason as why they can't compete.
  10. Wenger has a better CV atm than Simeone but is defiantly not a better manager currently. Is it that unfair to suggest Diego is the better manager in this current day?
  11. But on the flip side he sat and done nothing when they were stinking Stamford Bridge out the following season. Not to mention Flo's hairdresser and Ash's shotgun finding it's way into Cobham. He's a good manager when things are going well, but when the wheels come off he tends to get found wanting.
  12. No he didn't, he makes the Malouda off the post double season look like a workhorse.
  13. Saying he had to go somewhere to feel loved at Milan (despite numerous excuses made for him by fans) screams victim complex if ever I seen it. I saw Torres play live and most if the time he was walking around shrugging his shoulders, how he has a reputation as a sweet innocent hard worker is baffling. It says it all when a 33 year old Eto'o who was a shadow of his prime himself comprehensively outplayed him and the player he was suppose to replace long term came back at 36 to replace him.
  14. No, it was his shite attitude and victim complex.
  15. Tbf it's not his fault people fall for it every time, it's quite ridiculous really, the phrase once bitten twice shy goes out of the window when it comes to Torres, it's weird.
  16. If goalkeepers were judged on the amount of "for the camera" saves they make, then Shay Given would be the best keeper in football history. Im not saying Cech isn't world class, just trying to say making spectacular saves is only a fraction of what makes a good keeper and he shouldn't be judged better than Tibo on that alone
  17. Lots of teams have been successful by picking their best Xls and sticking to them, prime example Peps Barca. Mourinho has sent players on a short holiday this week and did the same for the non internationals on the last break.
  18. I have seen/heard comments from as early as just before the United match along the lines of "im fed up with Courtois now time to bring Cech in". This despite Tibo doing fuck all wrong all season and performing under huge pressure, you can only imagine if he needed time to settle ala De Gea. I appreciate the fact Cech is a legend and still a world class keeper, however I think Tibo has performed superbly under huge pressure (the pressure of playing over a club legend shouldn't be underestimated, he knows one so so game will have the romantics calling for Cechs return in their droves as has proved) and will only get better. I can't think of a goal this season yet were I thought he should have done better, Arfields and Austins maybe if I was being really picky.
  19. I heard that he tried to hard to improve his technical abilty, that imo was a big mistake if true.He should have took a leaf out of Bales and even a prime Torres's book and accepted his technical short comings and focused on what made him one of Europe's hottest young properties in the first place.
  20. He did well to compensate his lack of technical ability with his pace, power, finishing etc but you don't go from having great technical ability to being unable to trap a bag of cement, you just don't.He was even partial to the anonymous game at Liverpool against well drilled defences who didn't give him the space he thrived on. I looked at the prime Torres in more depth when he began struggling for us, I couldn't understand how he could decline so quickly and that's when I came to the conclusion he was technically limited. That's why I was one of the first on here to say, forget it, the guy is finished!!!! When it came to finishing there wasn't a problem, it was more in general play, but he didn't have a natural touch were the ball would stick to him, like it did with Drogba, Eto'o, Villa for example. Hr didn't glide the ball, the way he pushed it past defenders was like he was punishing the ball, looking back it was extremely unique mind but when he lost his physical side he was always facing a steep decline.
  21. Physically maybe, but when I saw United this season Falcao still has the nessesery technical qualities to make some sort of inpact, Torres even in his prime was getting by on pace and explosiveness which hid the fact he was actually very limited technically, a fact laid bare for all to see when he lost those two major assets.
  22. Not really the same, Falcao may be a shadow of his LetI self but he still at least do the basics right like control a football properly, unlike Torres who is rubbish in every sense.
  23. Schwarzer has left so we have a spare non HG spot if need be I believe.
