  1. He's not shit, not by any stretch of the imagination (although he does have some face palming tenancies that have started to creep back in his game off late). What it boils down too is think back to 07/08 when we lost JT for a bit but we were fine cause Carvalho stepped up to lead the defence, can Cahill do the same? The major concern about Cahill is can he step up and lead if need be? Could he lead Zouma through a CL final if Terry is unavailable? With Terry he is fine,,without him (further enhanced by his world cup displays) leave a lot to be desired and until he proves otherwise, that will always be a valid concern.
  2. He was never THAT good even in his prime, he was a limited footballer who had outstanding pace and explosiveness, even in his prime he was borderline clueless when he didn't have space. Look at the likes of Eto'o and Drogba, despite being past there prime they still have the nessecery skills to make a decent impact, as soon as Torres lost that yard and the confidence to use his explosiveness he was done, completely done, was always going to happen.
  3. The last time we tried the replace expierence with kids thing it set us back years. The club won't be taking that risk again any time soon.
  4. Matic, Rami, Cesc didn't really work at Everton, yes I know we won 6-3 but it was a game of football ping pongthat could hhave easily ended up 6-3 in Evertons favour too. I think Matic and Mikel will be the partnership when we head to Paris, Ramires is a utility player now which frankly should have been the case from day one.
  5. Really? I explained in the Willian thread why he plays, the balance he offers the team is incredible, him and Oscar running around like dogs is the reason Hazard gets a free(ish) role. Yes it would be nice for more end product, but what he brings to the table benefits the team loads, we are playing the best since 2010 and Willy is a key part as to why.Stats don't tell the whole story, if they did then people would look at Bergkamps average goal record and think he was shit, we all know different. Would Schurlle and Salah get more goals and assists? probably, would we be a better team for taking Willian out for one of them? for me, no and that's what matters above all else. Furthermore if Mou picked on reputation De Bruyne and Mata would still be here. and for the record I actually don't think Salah is as bad as people make out.
  6. When it starts affecting overall results, in my opinion. This season we have been playing as good as we have since 2010, and Willian is a key part of that despite lack of goals and assists. Schurrle and probably Salah also would score and assist more, but are we a better team for taking Willian out and putting either of those two in? not for me.
  7. We all thought Lamps would have never pulled off the stuff he did under AVB, and Cech has previous under Scolari.
  8. Im not sure, for all his last ball frustrations he offers incredible balance to the team, the reason Hazard has a free(ish) role is because him and Oscar run around like dogs to maintain the team balance. We could have got someone to "run around" for about 5m, but he would probably be a technical and tactical donkey who offers nothing more than lungs. Players like Willian are vital to a team/squad, people use to wonder why Fergie always played "average"player's aswell. If we lift the PL in May then Willian would have well and truly earned his medal as much as anyone.
  9. Luis, Schurrle and Cech amoungst other's must not be happy with their lack of play time this season yet despite that their doesn't seem to be a murmur of discontent between any one. Goes to show just how good Mourinhos man management is, not many managers could leave out such high profile player's constantly without noises of discontent.
  10. Yeah, Stoke away for me is arguably the hardest away game off the season after Ethiad, Old Trafford and possibly The Emirates. Arsenal never stand a chance there and City have not won there since they came up, ridiculously tough ground to visit.
  11. That was there game plan last season but I don't think they will be anywhere near as negative this time round, not even close. They were at there lowest this game last season, they had no confidence atall and were playing shit, Big Sam had no choice but to play it the way he did, and even then we hammered them all game but didn't take our chances. This season they are a much different proposition, Allardyce is one of the most tactically astute managers in this league (if he was skinny and more of a looker people would rave about him constantly), and West Ham with their current confidence could nick a draw if not a win if were not on the ball.
  12. There's a difference between developing youngsters and chucking away vital expierence for unproven kids.We tried that after the double, and it took us years to recover from that major error which in my opinion was an even bigger mistake than signing Torres.
  13. So we ditch an experienced player who has played in multiple high pressure games at the highest level and instead throw in an kid?
  14. Actually it was under Scolari he started playing there in a full time basis.
  15. I think we now know what Jose will do in the knockout rounds of the CL. As much as a revelation as Cesc has been, him in a CM 2 in the biggest games would have been a disaster, Mikel, Matic and Cesc strikes a good balance. Oscar and Willian can fight out for the right hand side in those games.
  16. What I noticed today from one if the corners is he went to collect, realised he wasn't getting there and quickly ran back. Most would panic in that situation but he knows what to do every single time.
  17. TBH I don't really get that, City probably have teams they believe roll over for us and perform for their lives against them. We are top thanks to QPR and West Ham, both of which we have accused of rolling over for our rivals in the past.
  18. Ask Liverpool fans if relentlessly chasing goal difference is a good idea.
  19. The loan system separates the men from the boys. Fergie was widely praised for sticking Welbeck and Cleverly in the side in 2011, but what people tend to forget is that they got their chance due to impressive loan spells in the PL. Simarly Sturridge got a chance under AVB due to impressive displays at Bolton, even Wilshere had to go down the loan route to break into Arsenal's side, as will 95 percent of youngster's. Youngsters are well aware of the task off breaking into our first team because despite our underwhelming youth record player's from home and abroad keep on putting pen to paper, they know what they are signing up for.
  20. A price tag doesn't take away the raw inconsistency off a youngster. Despite them costing Jose deserves credit for integrating Mikel and Varane when they were teenagers, after all, how many times did we see Lukaku under AVB?
  21. When was the last time (before this season) we lost a player for too many bookings in the PL? I can't recall, this season however we start like a house on fire look really good and 3 if our 4 best players convently get suspended due to too many yellows.
  22. We can't force manager's to play these player's, tbh id prefer it that way, that way we will know the ones that are playing have really earned there spot in the team, a bit like Sturridge-Bolton. Having said that Vittese is our sister club practically, if McEachran isn't getting a game it's more than likely down to him rather than any thing or any one else.
  23. How is there not one on here yet? If you want some ill give it ya
  24. He isn't as bad as it as people think, we played high in games last season like Arsenal and Liverpool both at home and he was fine. Under AVB we were exposed because off his coaching not Terry perse.
