I'd say we need a RB, so we can have a capable backup for Ivan so he can rest and be available to provide cover for CB if needed. I think deep mids and attacking mids are fine too. Maybe add an inexpensive versatile player like Dembele so he can provide competition for all 5 midfield positions, don't think we need to go crazy for Modric. Lamps, Mata and Hazard on the same team is more than enough creativity. Striker is fine with Torres and Sturridge.

If we're serious about Falcao then it has to be in exchange for Torres. Can't keep both here. Torres + 20M.

You're right with Wigan. But being a young defender is completely different than a striker. It's almost impossible to hold down a starting place as a young defender in the PL, unless the first couple of games you have blinders. A mistake or two in your first start and you're pretty much completely out of the picture. Teams in the PL can't afford to gamble on defenders, hence why it's so hard to have a succesful loan as a defender. Strikers are completely different, because they might not win you games on bad days but they won't cost you one, hence it's easier to gamble on them and more likely they remain in the starting lineup even if they have a couple of bad games, just cause teams can afford it. Plus Wigan, don't have any decent strikers and their playing style is nice too.

Fellaini is way better than all of those you listed. I would keep Meireles, but definitely sell the rest. Plus Benayoun isn't a CM, he isn't competing for the same positions as Essien and Meireles. Still, no rush on Fellaini. We can make the final judgment call on our midfield options during preseason. Lamps and Mikel first choice with Romeu backing up Mikel, which is fine imo. Lamps back-up at this moment is between Essien and Meireles. Both can do a decent enough job if they play on top of their game. But we just don't know how often they can do that.

We should sell Essien and/or Malouda and buy Fellaini. We lost a lot of height and power with Drogba and if possible we should replace that with Fellaini. Dude was winning headers easily against the entire England team. He's shown, similar to Drogba that he single-handedly can be a plan B if we sometimes have to resort to long-ball tactics. Without Drogba we don't have anyone else that can do that. Torres definitely can't and Lukaku probably won't have much impact on the first team next year.

Torres had a couple of nice chances, but China's goalie and their defence was pretty good. Should have got an assist though for his flick-on for Albiol. Mata on the other hand was just a BEAST. His 20 or minute cameo was really really good. Him and Iniesta completely changed the game and created so many chances.

So yesterday in FIFA I updated Chelsea. Transferred over Hazard, Marin and Hulk. Released Drogba, Kalou & Bosingwa. Well for the first 2 games Hazard did not play good, I was not happy at all. Fans were booing. Hulk adjusted right away, scored a goal in his first appearance. Torres was awesome too, his ratings have decreased but for some reason he played better, confidence does that to you. Mata was class too but he missed some easy goals, work on that finishing Mata. BUUUUUT, then after 2 games, now Hazard was getting into it and boy that 3rd game, he ripped United a new one, scored 2 and then danced around like 4 United defenders in their box and chipped it over a hopeless Lindegaard while everyone stood in silence. WHAT A BEAST !!!!!!!!
