I thought we registered Bertrand following the group stages.

It's just amazing to think about, when Drogba scored that goal in the first leg. I was sitting in my office celebrating doing the Drogba celebration (arms in and out) and with me there were millions others all the world celebrating. Some at work, some at school, some at home, some at the stadium, some over the radio, some on this forum, some with their family and friends, but all with each other and Chelsea FC. Whatever happens, I am proud of my team. This season has been tough, especially the moments when it seemed like no one cared enough for the badge, to now where everyone even the newcomers (e.g. Meireles) who have only been here for a year played their heart out for the badge, the team and the fans. CHELSEA FOR LIFE, FOR MOTHERFUCKING LIFE BABY!!!

Van Persie Wins the PFA Footballer of the Year
Bir_CFC replied to FranklyFrank's topic in Football Chat
RVP, well deserved. But how does Walker win it over Aguero, let alone get shortlisted over Mata? What is the judging criteria? Surely there has to be some explanation. And I don't understand how Parker makes PFA team of the year. Didn't we suck enough Parker dick last year, sheesh. -
lol wow united choking hard!!! now if city wins out they win the title most probably, damn!!

Look at the bright side, even more pitch for Drogba to fall on.

The TalkChelsea show logo competition
Bir_CFC replied to termninja's topic in Announcements & Support
I like that one except the 4 players you chose for the logo. I know you want to put the new kit, but Sturridge and Torres shouldn't be anywhere near a logo. I say just put the lion there instead. -
We might have been a little lucky to win at Stamford Bridge, but Real beat em clean. Barca had like 1 or 2 chances all game. Real were very very comfortable for the majority of the game, surprisingly easy win for them.

He's a striker, end of discussion. Either play him there or don't play him at all. Pathetic today. Forget playing bad, he looked like he didn't care at all.
-
Decent so far. Bertrand has been quality. Malouda has been good too. Gotta be thankful to Arsenal though for being so poor and starting our counters for us. Kalou really should have put in Torres on that once chance, that was really really poor.

HT - Chelsea 2 - 0 Rovers Rovers missing 3 sitters in the first half and get punished by Chelsea. Brilliant header by Chalobah after great work from Affane on the right wing. 2nd coming from the right wing as well after a great cross from Kane to Piazon with Baker placing a first time shot in the top right corner from the edge of the box. Since away goals dont count, I don't us to be too cautious, look to get as big of a lead as possible before the 2nd leg. -

OH wow, Abramovich is there watching. -
FA Youth Cup Final Chelsea v Blackburn ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Starting now, same starting 11 as the semi finals. No away goals rules, so we should be going for as many goals as possible, but this rovers team is very very good.
-
Nah, given how RDM has pretty much relegated him to 2nd choice now, I doubt we give him a contract extension. That said, we do need a RB cause we have no backup for Ivan, so if we can't find one, then maybe we'll be forced to give him an extension. Yikes!
-
It doesn't matter now. He's out on a free. If Inter want him or not, who cares, he's gone either way.
-
I don't understand why people want to bench Mata and play such an ultra-defensive game. You can't expect us to keep a clean sheet at Camp Nou. WE HAVE TO SCORE 1 in Spain. What you guys don't realize is that without Mata on the left wing, you are inviting even more pressure from that flank too, cause no one is gonna worry about Kalou while we are on offence, whereas Mata will surely suck in 2 or 3 defenders everytime. The only player I would replace Mata with is Malouda, not Kalou. We have been very lucky with the amount of times Kalou has lost a ball on the counter which in turn begins their counter. It happened 3-4 times against Spurs in the first half and it happened once last night too, but we got lucky. A counter with Kalou, is a counter for the other team waiting to happen.
-
Plus, not like Mata got exposed or was a liability defensively today, so I see no reason to want to upgrade our defense. Plus he's on the wing which makes more of a case why we should play him on the chance he creates magic.
-
What amazes me the most about him is how fast he recovers. I can remember thinking 10 times that oh he's beat, just to see him somehow recover and make the tackle. What a bargain.
-
I would play him for sure. Kalou might be better at tracking back, but he's not that much better that it would make me foresee just how much more impact Mata can have in a game of such few chances. Also, Mata just cause who he is, will keep a couple of their defenders worried too, whereas with Kalou they might as well not even bother defending him and really overload. You don't want to invite too much pressure now. We also have to score an away goal. Can't be going ultra-defensive, cause you can't expect a clean sheet a Camp Nou.
