Apparently we're negotiating contract terms with him now. Not sure if the bid is accepted or not. I would imagine a club wouldn't start negotiating a contract with a player unless the club has already accepted a bid, but stories about Hulk and Modric doing just that were published this year so no idea. He looks likely though as Marseille hasn't really looked like they would offer much resistance.

Probably doesn't have full fitness and most likely barely even trained much with the team.

Cech Ivan - Luiz - Terry - Cole Ramires - Mikel - Lamps Hazard - Torres - Mata Blackman Ferreira - Hutch - Cahill - Bertrand Essien - Romeu - Oscar Benayoun - Sturridge - Marin 4-3-3 suits our midfield the best, while 4-2-3-1 suits our attackers the best, a lot of options for RDM.

Marin can do that on the right imo. He has a great cross on him. Mata can do that on the left if required too. Our attacking 3 are very versatile, I wouldn't play Marin in the centre but the other 2 can play all 3 imo. Mata - Hazard - Marin (crosses galore) Marin - Hazard - Mata (shots galore) Hazard - Mata - Marin (bit of both)

Hopefully you're right. But Mikel has been very disappointing so far imo and Essien has been our best midfielder by a wide margin imo. But it's only preseason.

Been really poor this preseason. I think Essien has already eclipsed him to partner Lamps in the pivot.

People watch him play for an hour against Seattle and label him as selfish? Or, has he been selfish all his career? Really hope it's not just cause of one match lol. He's been the best player so far. My biggest doubt with him was his defense, but he's a pretty feisty guy. Got a goal off tackle against Seattle and initiated a clear cut chance against PSG off a similar tackle. Of course, it's only been two games, let's see how he does all preseason.

I think the change in our attacking philosophy will help Lukaku a lot. People say he's the next Drogba, he's big striker like Drogba, but he thrives on delivery like a Torres would. If we are building around Torres, Lukaku wants the same service.

Really? I don't disagree with you because I don't know enough about Kagawa to do so. But if you can I'd love to hear your reasoning. It'll help me learn a bit more about Hazard and Kagawa.

First half we didn't go through the middle but that's because McEachran and Mikel weren't able to get any control of the midfield at all. Second half was much better. Second half Lampard even pushed up and Essien was bossing the midfield alone haha. I think if Mikel has a better game, we would have been fine in the first half too.

Let's see some 4-3-3 next match RDM. He will be a lot better in a 4-3-3. That said, considering how bad Mikel was yesterday, that wouldn't have helped McEacran either.

Hazard was great yesterday, Marin and Lukaku also did well. McEachran showed flases. All of those things I expected. But boy did Essien excite me the most yesterday. Maybe it's not the case with everyone, but I am a huge Essien fan and he really did look great yesterday. I was so happy. Just pray to God he doesn't get another injury and we have a big big surprise bonus on our hands for next season.
