  1. Im not saying we should sign him or not, but i think you're being very harsh on him. "lost his finishing touch"? thats something he can get back. Sure a club like Chelsea dont need to bet on such player to be his 1st or even 2nd stirker, but in another club he can maybe recover to be some of the striker he was. At least he deserves the chance to show it, it was only one season. Whats Kalou and Lille has to do with him? thats incredibly silly... but at least show the complete picture - Falcao played 18 games in all competitions last season scoring 11 goals for Monaco. Kalou played 38 scoring 18. "out-scored"... come on.
  2. Falcao only had one bad season, how can you compare it with what Torres did in like 3 years (and the amount of chances he got in those years)? Falcao injury was an awful one, and the move to United was not right for him. After such injury, absence for a full year, he needed to play and LVG's United is not the right team for his profile, LVG likes ball playing strikers who can play outside the box and Falcao is a different striker. i think he deserves another season, to see if maybe he can get back to himself, at least some of the player he was, with a different team and more game time.
  3. Look at my post above. thats from round of 16 vs Arsenal
  4. You're right, never noticed he played with Porto in 09/10... before his real big break a season later. He was even playing against us in the group stage.
  5. He probably wants another chance at the top level. For his condition the best thing is to go to some place like AC Milan and play all the time, but if the reports are true he probably wants CL football (never had it), and he believe he can go back to his best. We wouldnt buy him obviously, if we even want him it will be on a basis of a loan. I dont think we need to buy a 3rd striker but a loan of Falcao on lower wages? i wouldnt say no to that. Its Falcao.
  6. According to AS, Griezmann is one of the "Untouchables" for Atletico, along with Koke and Godin. Meaning is that we'll need to pay the full release clause for him (60m euros).
  7. @oscar8 Next season I will control the game. Na próxima temporada, eu vou controlar o jogo.
  8. I agree he doesnt get enough respect, but about Costa vs Remy, i think Costa got the edge, especially for this team. Mourinho likes dominant strikers, and he likes his teams to be agressive and a bit "ugly", Costa is the definition of all that, and he's a lot more dominant and frightening than Remy, CBs fear and always busy when he's playing. He should tone down the silly things he do on the pitch, but im also sure some of those things he do helps Chelsea to be considered hard to play against. Remy is perfect as the other option for us, and as long as he gets game time and enjoys himself, i see no problems. I just dont think we should sign a 3rd striker, because of how good Remy was the 3rd striker should be a youth player, probably Solanke.
  9. I dont rate Carlo highly at all, but Benitez is going to be horrible in Real. He'll be sacked till February. Add that to the huge support Carlo gof from all Real players in the last few days, and it looks even worse. If Perez announced today that he's keeping him there was a great positive vibe about Real and the manager next season, real backing from fans and players, at least until the next failure.
  10. 50m Euros is 35.5m Pounds, so its not really a big difference from the numbers you're suggesting he'll be sold (30m). If United wants him they'll pay 35m pounds. Benatia? he's from Roma and unlike Otamendi he didnt have a release clause, while Valencia also in a much better position financially.
  11. I only see him as a replacement to Cuadrado. I wouldnt replace Oscar with him, and i wouldnt want him to be the BIG signing for RW.
  12. Porto is not the top of europe, Valencia is not the top of europe, every player wants to get there and Otamendi is 27 and at his peak, thats his final chance. Sure he also wants the big money, but whats wrong about that? thats football and he's definitely not an exception. In other news, AS claiming Atletico will sell Miranda this summer. One year on his contract.
  13. Valencia president: "It's €50M or nothing."
  14. Why is it crazy to want to leave Valencia to a bigger club with better wages and better chance of winning things? He's 27 already, that's the time.
  15. I dont think its bold at all, Varane and especially Hummles are from from perfect CBs, i see both as vulnerable (making quite a lot of errors) and Hummles is actually very slow.
  16. Well imo Otamendi is better than Varane and better than Hummels. And I hear from a lot of La Liga fans that he was the best CB in the league this season. I dont know if he worth the money for us, but i think you underrate him.
  17. Yeah I thought he'll be more dominant, but I forgot about the surgery he had with his teeth. I also wanted to see Jose more. I remember better parades but anyway that was nice.
  18. His release clause is €50m = £35.5m.
  19. With his improvment, and Jose's words about Oscar a few weeks ago (he thinks he'll have the same evolution Eden had this season) i think its becoming quite clear we're not going to sign someone like Koke, Pogba or Gundogan etc. Probably just a CM in the likes of Imbula. Hope they'll prove it was the right choice. In that case a proven star for RW is a must though, we do need some improvement, some new blood.
  20. Ivanovic has become unbearable for me this season. In most games, he was an awful defender.
  21. I just dont understant why they have to use strips every time. Its like every year someone in Adidas goes like "oh, this beautiful clean blue shirt would look even better with some vertical/horizontal strips..." This person is like the main reason i dont buy kits.
  22. I want a strong line up, we need to go and win this, not another draw please.
  23. More reports and different sources about Gaitan, including one who says he's coming to Chelsea. Nico Gaitán today played his last game with the jersey of Benfica in the Estadio da Luz. Nico Gaitan will head to England next season and Chelsea, as revealed by Correio da Manhã, is profiled as a destination club (Correio da Manhã) Luís Filipe Vieira, President of Benfica, and Mendes were in England to discuss the sale of Gaitan to a British club. (via @cmjornal) The purpose of the trip by #SLB's President and Mendes was to negotiate the transfer of Nico Gaitan and Eduardo Salvio. A source close to Benfica, expects the transfer for Gaitan/Salvio to be closed in the coming days. (Jornal de Notícias)
