Sorry, Zouma is technically better than Cahill IMO (this isn't saying much but Zouma has a much better pass and vision than Cahill contrary to the popular belief) Cahill is not a proactive defender whatsoever. Don't confuse him taking the ball out here or there when there's barely any pressure on him for him being proactive. Any defender can do that.

What has changed is that JT is a year older, Ivanovic is getting older, we have solidified our team with the Fabregas and Costa signings, and its now important to look at the future to ensure that we maintain an upper hand in the future. Who says signing John Stones for £34m means we won't sign a midfielder? Who says that that will be the reason that we won't? The two aren't really related in my mind.

I get the notion that preseason doesn't mean much at all, but who's over hyping him? No one is saying he's starting for us. Most are just saying that he'd be a solid squad player which isn't far from the truth.

I mean, when people were so happy to see us spend £26m on Cuadrado, I don't understand why there's such upheaval about the potential Stones signing...

It's not a revelation or expirement of playing Oscar next to Fabregas and Matic... He did that already last year. Nothing new.

They've bought Darmian for their RB spot and are still in the hunt for a CB. So you'll have Darmian-X-Smalling-Blind/Shaw/Rojo. It's not that bad. Especially if X player is a player like Ramos or Otamendi.

I'm not calling them doubtless favourites but they are definitely up there. They don't need amazing reinforcements either. Up front will be more of depth signing, in defence they'll have to make a pretty big signing but they're still very decent there... They have a very, very good squad.

United are not finished spending... They are clearly still looking for a defender and striker.

Luckily Di Maria is being sold so that weakens their strength in midfield a bit but still, a very strong, in depth team. People are sleeping on the United squad IMO.

I just can't see Pogba replacing Rakitic because they're entirely different as players. They want to phase Iniesta out, and Pogba is a very nice replacement for him if he fulfills his huge potential.

Let's hope he has a similar impact Sturridge did at his time at Bolton, where he was so good they couldn't drop him.

A very solid CDM is needed as well. We saw the impact Matic had on our team, and the closest thing they have is Coquelin who just isn't in the same league at all.

If he's good enough to play here he should be starting at Palace.
