This is what happens when we try to give Ivanovic more support to handle Montero because he can't. Ridiculous.

Fabregas and Hazard, our two main creative sparks, are just not in this game at all. Yet we're still somehow winning. Hmm.

Montero just megged Ivanovic. Completely has his number.

We are defending as a group though. For the Ayew goal, there was plenty of support inside for Ivanovic to pass off Montero to, but Ivanovic showed him the outside flank and that's when it turns into a 1-on-1 game and he got beaten. Let's not act like Ivanovic isn't prone to doing this either, he's well known for struggling against quick, nippy wingers, or just 1 on 1 duels in general. He isn't great at it.

Fullbacks get pulled wide all the time, it's their job to defend against that when they're facing their opposite number. He's not being passed around, he's getting beaten one on one by his opposite number.

Let's hope he keeps this sort of display up for most of the season.

Ivanovic is being done on one on one situations. That doesn't have much to do with Willian.

Azpi would handle Montero very easily.

Still don't understand how Luis didn't get more games over Ivanovic last year.

Disagree. The sacrifices are overstated. Azpi doesn't play LB to protect JT because of his lack of pace (JT's never had pace). JT is also intelligent enough to play in a higher line, he just needs the right defender next to him, someone like Zouma.

To this day, people still underestimate Terry's influence on the team.

Koke would be amazingly perfect simply because of his versatility.

I'd be very happy if Oscar proved me wrong this season - and tbf - he really needs to.

I actually think we'll win pretty comprehensively but we do need to improve. As long as we grind out results over the next few weeks until we get into proper rhythm I'll be satisfied.

I would be happy with this, should've picked him up instead of Cuadrado from Italy tbh.

Fair enough, but I just don't see him doing that. Can't ever see Victor Moses performing to a world class standard consistently and there will always be better players out there, but each to their own I suppose. For me personally, Moses has done nothing to over impress me over pre season because I know exactly what sort of player he is.

Even if he did cement the opportunity to become our first choice RW, would you be satisfied with Moses being our starting RW for the next couple of seasons?
