  1. Agree with both and the long post in between. Guy is nothing special, but he is a great defensive full back and okay going forward. Labelled as the best full back in the league for a reason. Some of the commentators here should hang their heads in shame.
  2. Guy finally has a bad patch and we've jumped the gun. Typical.
  3. Maybe. I'd prefer to have Pjanic off the ball to Oscar, but that is just me, I guess.
  4. Reading reports it's not serious and may even be on the go for Everton. We'll probably not risk him, though.
  5. Godin has said he'll retire at Atleti. Real possibilities are either Christensen or Marquinhos.
  6. If you really believe Oscar can rejuvenate himself, than I should end the conversation already. Pjanic and Cesc are both quality on the ball and are capable of quick passing, so any physical attempt would probably result in late challenges by the opposition. For me, they just need a "cleaner" behind them and that's all. Ofcourse, my opinion.
  7. People tend to believe that, because Stoke/Palace and etc. have rough footballers, other players who are far less lightweight and rely on time on the ball can't adjust to the PL. Far from it, in my eyes. Looking at Mata, if you have the quality, you'll make it. Imagine we actually bag Pjanic, put him next to Cesc and trust Naingollan behind them. Both Pjanic and Cesc will be able to dominate the middl of the park, because both have the ability to do it. Teams would do well to mark both, but then both defensive midfielders would be occupied with controlling them, leaving space for our wingers to wreak havoc and vice versa. PSG, Barca, Real, Bayern are all prime examples of how you don't need a 2 man DM formation to go all out and dominate the game. Matuidi, Busquets, Casemiro, Vidal. Anchormen with immense workrate. Best case scenario: we poach Roma for their 2 best players for a rough sum of 55 mil. Pounds and offload Oscar and Matic for, let's say 40 at best. THAT, right there, would be unreal bussiness.
  8. He does, but who doesn't, Diego has missed an awful lot as well. The thing that I would be looking for,if such a deal happens is Cavani's finishing and technical ability. Perfect technical ability, immense first touch and a dazzling finish. I'm not discrediting Costa, quite the opposite, but as I've said, I'd get Cavani in a heart beat.
  9. Well, while in Italy he's stuffed every big side up there. I don't think France has anyone big, but he is a regular goalscorer there, too, even by playing on the wing. He seems to be criminally underrated on here and by most Chelsea fans, because of that big miss last year, when in all honesty, he's scored one of his best goals, exactly versus us. If you want a bottler, get Higuain.
  10. Would take him in a heartbeat, but only IF Costa wants to leave. Amazing striker.
  11. I remember Pacquiao HAD the balls to argue Isco is a far worse choice than Oscar. I remember tons of arguments with Gilvorak about how Oscar actually is a key player. I remember Gilvorak's quote, saying Oscar was our BEST player in the first part of last season. I knew it last season, but gave him the benefit ot the doubt. If you seriously, in some weird, alternative reality, see any quality in Oscar at the number 10 spot, you should consider retiring from football in general. A number 10 that lacks the vision, simple passes, fuck me, I don't even remember him managing a proper pass behind the defender's back. Not once. How does this guy actually earn a living by playing top club football. He'd be ideal at some inconsistent team like Palace or Newcastle where they turn up on the odd day and that's about it. Dogshite. I'd much rather see myself play at the number 10 role for Chelsea. It would probably be just as bad.
  12. Swear to God, no excuses if he DOESN'T start over Oscar for the PSG game. We should melt as a football club, if Matic and/or Oscar are playing in our, arguably, game of the season.
  13. I'm not comparing. I'm saying that he brings a different set of tools to our game. And he does it better, than what Cuadrado does.
  14. Quite the contrary to Henrique's post. His main idea will be to have a dominant midfield, so a technical, robust Anchor Man will be his first pick. Whether it is Vidal or Naingollan, it doesn't matter. On the other hand, as much as he admires Cuadrado, he himself must know the club moved beyond him, having Pedro, Willian and Kenedy as options there, who are all bigger quality than him. To be fair, I'm expecting to big transfers(in terms of money) and that will be it. Our youths are more than adequate to cover. If we are bringing Christensen back, then I doubt we'll see a DF here.
  15. Another knee jerk reaction. Norwich scored for 2-1. We needed defensive stability and Baba brought just that and was great. Pato will get game time. There is still 2 whole months and 10 matches, JUST in the PL.
  16. Leaving the door open, if, for some reason, Barca or Real come knocking. Great to know, he plans on staying. Love you, Dave.
  17. Him, Traore, Christensen, Ruben and Kenedy. Long term future.
  18. To add to this, Costa's technical ability is awful. His movement is top notch, no doubt, but technical strikers, like Suarez, Aguero, etc., who know how to distribute the ball in top notch fashion without it seeming like a chess game, are far better than pure finishers, who thrive a lot on players behind them and the offside flag staying down. Doesn't mean I don't love Diego to bits and want him to stay for as long as he can.
  19. Imagine we actually get Pjanic and Vidal/Naingollan while offloading Matic and Oscar.
  20. I failed to see him doing anything beside a backheel to start an attack. Kudos for which.
  21. Am I the only one who thinks TBO should've came out a lot faster and that the goal is also his fault? Baba headed it retardedly, but fuck off, Long's first touch was atrocious.
  22. Big Big BIG howler from him. And Yes. HIM. In no way would anybody else not gather that after Long's first touch.
  23. Quotes ala TBO. I'm coming back, only If I have a cemented starter place. Fair play.
  24. He left, mainly because the Juve board are something special. My mate, who is a Juve fan, pretty much explained to me the situation. He(Conte) had interest in buying Sanchez and another quality winger plus a LB(Coentrao or someone else who is really versatile, don't quite know). On the other hand, the Juve board wanted Evra on a free and Iturbe. Simple comparisition: Sanchez cost 35 mil. and the Juve board were willing to spend 30 mil. on Iturbe and nothing else. So it's definitely not solely Conte's fault. I am generally excited about him.
  25. I've lost faith in this forum the moment I saw people actually rejecting Arturo Vidal.
