  1. I understand this is a difficult time for #EFC Fans but I have to do what's best for my career. Thanks for everything.
  2. LOL. sliiiiiiide! sounds like this will happen and I have to say it's good news. Hopefully he becomes a solid defender for us with time. Looks to me like Chris Smalling and Stones have the potential to be the top CBs for England.
  3. this story --as it's being reported is painting a really absurd picture. Chelsea staff are running around like a collective chicken with its head cut off, trying to sign one guy? I want to know who lit the fire, really. Surely there are alternatives. I know one just went to Manchester United (Schneiderlin). Hopefully CFC have some alts in mind FFS. I can't believe Pogburr will happen.
  4. Probably based on that thinking and the fact that Chelsea don't have but one top CM, Matic was the MVP of last season. But, yes, running on one leg in midfield with weakness at the back. Chelsea don't retain the title unless there's someone else coming for CM and the back four is changed this year. You can't expect Matic to be everywhere; he'll be run into the ground before too long. I have to say that ManCity gave up the title last season while Kompany had fitness problems. Chelsea weren't impressive in the 2nd half of the season, but players like Matic, Azpi, and Terry helped us eke out the title while we lacked scoring. Need changes.
  5. give him some time and he'll slow down like the rest of Chelsea(?). incredible step down to CFC from Barca. I hope Chelsea change.
  6. Ivanovic sucks, full stop. New CM, push Fabregas up to AM. Nice one, Azpi and Costa.
  7. What garbage football is this? awful. Pedro scores and I'm asking how long it will take for him to become mired in Chelsea's brand of slow football. He's still of Barca mentality now. Or, can the future move away from SlowChelsea? This is about as far from the great 2004-2005 season as I've seen Chelsea.
  8. I hope he makes the 1st team along with Traore. Both might make a case to sell Oscar, Moses, Cuadrado, etc. The weakness is still in centre midfield and the tempo of Chelsea's attacking play along with poor movement to pull the opponents out.
  9. Witsel still seems like a good idea to me, but I'm not sure this manager wants him.
  10. back to reality: Chelsea not improving the centre midfield at all? aiming for top 4 only this season. zzzzzzzz.
  11. I've been wondering how good this player, Funes Mori actually is. I know one Argentine who loves him like his big brother. I guess Everton have seen enough. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/aug/21/everton-ramiro-funes-mori-argentina
  12. Pedro would help us, I'm sure. I like it. I want another CM so we're entirely dependent upon the legs of Matic. there's no one else to play as a true CM in this squad aside from the upcoming Loftus-Cheek maybe.
  13. might actually turn out better than someone like Kovacic. I see nothing wrong with this as a signing; the real problem at Chelsea --for many seasons now, is that tempo of play on attacks. Particularly, we need faster interplay and passing to break opposition down. Ramires and Mikel should be leaving (any blinking day is fine), Iva to backup defender and give time to Loftus-Cheek this year. I'm confident in saying that a CM in Crystal Palace of McArthur, Jedinak, and Cabaye poses more of challenge to opposition either by pure talent or by way of CP's tempo of play when compared to what Chelsea currently offer (including some of last season). At very least the football is easier on the eye.
  14. I've been trying to not say much, but all I can really say is that I would have waited until around December this season to re-sign Mourinho. That was a dumb decision. Someone has put a photo of one Juergen Klopp as his profile image. Lovely.
  15. LOL the guy that mentions Barcelona above when discussing this Chelsea squad. that's funny.
  16. The best question is: can Chelsea do any better? How? I haven't seen it. I don't see it. I didn't see the CP-Arsenal match earlier, but I'm sure it was more entertaining from both sides. How would CP look in this match?
  17. Chelsea have one good centre midfielder: Matic and one top striker: Diego Costa. No one has emerged as -THE- right winger either as Hazard and Fabregas must carry the team again with Diego. Chelsea are NOT a top squad in Europe, so no, no chance on the CL unless they limp in and park the bus again. Get something more in CM, another fullback and emergent winger this season along with a fully healthy Diego and Chelsea MIGHT have aspirations with something more than park-the-bus.
  18. I think the summer transfer season is about to begin. 3 signings OTW? Make it good.
  19. I just heard that this deal is going through on talksport. anyone seen something yet? ?
  20. strong in the air and strong shielding the ball, but getting worse on overall defending and still looks like merely a gifted CB on the wing during attacks. Need a real fullback, sorry. Today's game requires capability on attack from those fullback areas.
  21. excellent signing. I'm happy for this. You won't find a more athletic fullback with some good defending and attacking skills already in superior development at age 21. Good luck, Baba. Now, about centre midfield...
  22. running on one leg with Matic in CM, I don't think so. fullback, CM and possibly a winger. the first two are the priority despite the fact that a lot of the time Willian doesn't look at all like a winger. I hope that Azpi moves to RB and the new player gets the job at LB as starter. Also worth noting: ManUtd bought an excellent FB this summer in Darmian.
  23. Facepalm summer. Where's the fullback and centre mid?
  24. agreed^^^ I'm beginning to doubt Cuadrado, Remy and Falcao while already seeing a lack of quality in CM for a while, doubting Costa long-term, and wondering about both depth and quality at RB and LB during the past year. As much as people here will want to call the new poster above a "troll," I've been one to agree with the essence of what he's said season after season. Chelsea have yet to prove to me that they can play week after week like a side that builds attacks through quick, accurate passing on build-up and in quick transition. In other words, as blues.bridge suggests: not through individual talent so much, but through strong interplay on attacks. This is what I've been waiting to see since that 2004/2005 season. Sorry to offend anyone, but I've simply not seen enough of it from SW London. Most neutral fans around the world have the same view if they've seen enough to know.
