not in the CL squad, so everyone wants to know what is going on the CFC. I'm asking the same question. Could be a bumpy ride this season. dunno why some people were to eager to re-sign Jose. we'll see.
-
the positive side of having a shitty start to the season is that it could be a wonderful opportunity for a season of young talent coming into the 1st team (we can HOPE). I'd love to see Musonda get some time, as some are suggesting today. With our problems in CM, why not give RLC, Willian, and Musonda some time next to Matic? Clearly Willian isn't going to score when he's pushed high up the pitch.
-
Don't care that Chelsea aren't going to win any trophies this year (most likely) because maybe we can see some younger players worked into the lineup. Problem is, aside from RLC, who else can play CM under the age of 23?

all about our new Papy: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/15116/9974768/who-is-papy-djilobodji-all-you-need-to-know-about-the-chelsea-target

Anthony Martial to United. Looks like one with elite striker potential IMO.
-
I heard Moussa Sissoko is near full fitness.
-
He's strong in the air! I think this kind of move would have made sense weeks ago if CFC were planning to get a second solid fullback in the market, plus a couple players for CM. CM: Matic, Loftus-Cheek, new player, new player fullback: Azpi, Rahman, new player, Ivanovic Anyone think CFC will get someone for centre mid?
-
that's about as easy as they come. what's the problem?
-
I'm hoping that when I get online tomorrow afternoon Aymeric Laporte is signed but not officially announced. Next up: turning over a rock to find something better than Fabregas, Ramires, or Mikel at CM --or buying someone strength, quickness and other skill potential FFS. ...and Ivanovic has no business on the pitch come 12 Sept.
-
Will probably end up at Barca if Chelsea don't take him ASAP. Hurry up, CFC. I've not seen him play much (thanks to the unpopularity of Bilbao for TV/LaLiga's crooked TV income distribution), but it seems he has anticipation and reaction like someone we once knew here, at Chelsea.
-
That's the truth. Chelsea don't have solid workhorses and depth for the centre midfield and fullback positions aside from Azpi and Matic (and there's possibility with Rahman and Loftus-Cheek). All this time passed and this is what Chelsea are right now, with only a few days left in the summer window. good job, "big club." Hey, I really doubt someone's on the phone and airplanes all day looking to get another quality CM in along with someone who can play FB (depth). Are Chelsea only busy trying to sign superstars while the squad is looking shallow for quality and depth across the formation?
-
1. to sum things up over the years since 2005, or when Robben departed: Chelsea have spent a lot of money and have not had a complete squad (meaning: pick a formation, look at the quality in depth in each and every position). 2. Chelsea might not be using short passes with such futility if someone would coach them differently. Watch a United match (forget about them not scoring enough for a moment), or see how Dortmund push and pull an opponent. No one does this at Chelsea. Front-to-back and side-to-side Chelsea are too slow and lack incision and it's been this way year after year after year after year after year.... someone needs to change the way this team plays on the park and I don't see Mourinho doing it.
-
Azpi on the right is not going to be a Seamus Coleman, but he will be good there. Let's just say that Ivanovic needs to NOT start at right back (and that we need another REAL box-to-box CM with top quality in this squad). nice work, Kenedy. but pressure on a dribbler is greater up the pitch --which is probably where he belongs.
-
someone really f'd up re-signing this guy. going nowhere fast. best part will be signing another big money player and falling on face again under this manager.
-
Mourinho, Ivanovic and weakness in centre midfield. same old Chelsea-too-slow.
-
time for Varane.
-
Matic versus MacArthur, Cabaye, Mutch/Jedinak. Our AMs will be defending more than attacking, I suppose. Ready for a disappointing match?
-
this is nuts. Chelsea better get a couple players in because we're winning nothing this season if no one comes. Still might be a bad season if one of our fullbacks gets injured.
-
center midfielder/right back that seems an interesting future prospect: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabinho_(footballer,_born_1993) Versatility, strength, height, pace, workrate, good passing from deep with his fullback experience. Keep an eye on this guy.

no woman's ass is worth that much; there are too many. only way that calculation works is if ~1/10000 women was average weight and the rest were overweight/underweight. getting harder to find the average weight person nowadays in developed countries though.
-
I'm glad we got a no-frills skill player like Pedro. Our Ryan Giggs of sorts, IMO. I prefer Koke myself, but I've been asking all summer what other players are good possibilities (assuming Koke and Pogba are NOT coming) and there haven't been many responses. Schneiderlin, Witsel, Gundogan.... personally, I rate MacArthur and McCarthy higher than all of the Chelsea players for CM aside from Matic, but I'm hoping that Loftus-Cheek gets plenty of playtime this year too.
-
I didn't see a season in which the Chelsea centre MF was clearly dominant. I saw a season in which other top clubs fell short and a bunch of matches wherein Chelsea defended well. Chelsea dominating the centre of the park last season? That wasn't notable, but I do remember Chelsea getting dominated more than a few times in the centre last season.
-
sounds like Schneiderlin would have fit the bill. IDK who would be an alternative right now. It does seem to me that Pogba is better suited to be the more advanced of a three-man centre midfield, but I've also not watched him play enough during his Juve days.
-
What CM would you like to see in blue? I keep wondering what plan B is because our CM is weak compared to other "top clubs" in Europe and even in the Prem.
-
I don't think Smalling will need any babysitting ITF. Looks like he will become a solid defender IMO.
