  1. It's beyond all comprehension why you let a player go with such marvelous once-in-a-generation crosses and strikes and keep.... OSCAR. It was amazing to finally see the backside of Torres and then Chelsea with Mourinho let KDB leave. I'm wondering what may look like a bigger mistake in years to come: signing hamstrung-Torres for 50 million and failing to build a good squad from back-to-front in that time, or letting de Bruyne go elsewhere while keeping the Portuguese-speaker who amounts to nothing at this level. again, in this match it can't be overlooked that when you have Oscar and Mikel on the pitch, you're already playing with 10 men because each of them counts as 0.5 players.
  2. Oscar... I think the analysis is over, so why is he getting a look now? Surely Conte doesn't need to see more. dunno what gets changed in the 2nd half. no Willian on the bench. Put Traore on for Oscar?
  3. Fair views there. Yes, Cahill is NOT a leader.
  4. I think this one will last. I'm happy he's coming. It's time for change at Chelsea FC. I think the intentions were there with Mourinho coming back, but the squad wasn't good enough back-to-front and Mourinho was arguably not cut out for managing a club that desires to play for more than just the immediate and wishes to play some high tempo passing build-up play. Conte will get some signings, but I'm hoping that, like a good italian, he'll be building from the back and the middle of the park with his selections. Personally, it doesn't bother me that the manager may have limited control over signings at Chelsea; the main thing is that we get more quality and depth from back, to middle, to front. why the hell Oscar and Mikel might last any longer in London is beyond me... but I'm hopeful. Welcome, Antonio!
  5. I hope it's done soon. Need those signings to get lined-up early.
  6. "It's good to see Loftus-Cheek, Clarke-Salter and Miazga coming in. We cannot win anything, which makes it easier. It's good to see how they deal with the pressure. I always like to bring in youngsters and now we have the rest of the season to do it more frequently." -Guus
  7. If he works hard and Conte likes him, I don't see why Chelsea wouldn't want to sign him up. Proven goalscorer, only needs to adapt to PL and work hard. We need more strikers for next season, but we need to spend big money from BACK to FRONT. Pato could be a good compromise for depth at a forward position
  8. Gianelli Imbula. Naingolan. a third CM, and a load of new defenders.
  9. He'll probably be around for another season and the final verdict will be clear. Unfortunately. Most of the fans aren't premature in wanting Oscar gone.
  10. Talksport has made the interesting point about the young England starters today: many of them were not part of the U-21 club system. I have to ask: what do Southampton usually do with their developing players?
  11. Excellent subs by Hodgson, more total crap from Loew on the attacking side. Özil rhymes with over-rated. How many touches? Happy for victory and for English fans.
  12. sounds like Belgium should fail in the Euro comp this year. they have some good defenders but I think when you hear their side of things, you should just flash a photo of Messi, Neymar, and Suarez in their faces. South America. Go ahead and try for a "bigger club."
  13. It's hard to see how much of an advancement equal pay, equal rights or any number of socio-economic issues actually make compared to the bigger picture of dependency upon oligarchical middle men or the investor class that is taking all the power from common people regardless of race, sex, etc. Clinton can rally some people, but for WHAT? The person that is going to create more impetus on the Left Wing is going to be a total asshole from the Right, not Hillary. Or, as I may have said in this forum before: we wait for Chinese workers to start a revolution because Americans are too deluded, cynical, scared and passive.
  14. Because inadequate numbers of young people show up to nominate and vote, the U.S. remains stuck in the 20th century. There are good people in politics despite convenient cynicism expressed by some here. One way we're NOT stuck in the 20th century: neo-liberal economic policies since Thatcher and Reagan are decimating the low-skill and middle-skill workers' means to earn a living (and forget about a savings account). That trend WILL continue regardless of the crap that comes from the mouths of Trump, Kasich, Cruz, Clinton. But the same would not necessarily be true IF Bernie won and the people became more engaged in the political process. All the whiteys favoring Trump aren't going to get more than nickels, dimes and more soundbites reflecting their anger while the neo-liberal status quo continues. Attitudes will change. Unfortunately, it takes the poorly educated and indoctrinated fools a long time to change one way of thinking in their brains and culture. The cynicism, passivity, and lack of priority among young people on voting will continue to preclude genuine change via the electoral process. Either rejuvenated organized labor and civil disobedience, or market implosion and technology are more likely agents of change in the U.S. The will and minds of Americans have been weakened, misdirected and misinformed (since the 70s); the investor class is in another atmosphere.
  15. Try not only hearing the words from his mouth, but also seeing his non-verbal communication after having a solid understanding of what 'existential nihilism' means. Question for you: does Ayn Rand fit with Christian ideals? As much as someone like yourself probably doesn't want to see Clinton win, the difference between Pres. Cruz and Pres. Clinton is mostly about social issues that are of less consequence to a white male (except the part where Cruz apparently doesn't mind the "drown gov't in the bathtub" mentality). Every candidate in the race was going to toe the neo-liberalist line --except Bernie. The post-industrial age is upon white male America, but they'll keep voting for people who do nothing to change that status quo until that system implodes. Enjoy the nostalgia (and crystal meth).
  16. Looks good technically and is strong. I still don't see many strikers out there to buy at the right age, with ability, experience and potential, strength and a good scoring record (accurate shooter).
  17. Count me in as one who doesn't care what happens with this player. I think we'd do better to get Ighalo in ASAP this summer window. Costa isn't a leader but I think he wants everything his way. Also, he's not as strong as people think/thought he is. Imbula, Kouyate and Ighalo look like candidates for summer spending to me.
  18. He's not under-rated by anyone because if Chelsea have the aspirations of a "big club," then Mikel isn't good enough. If we're going for medriocrity, Mikel's fine. let's see what happens in MF with the WHU match.
  19. It's possible to win, but even without Matuidi and Veratti, I think PSG have an edge. Thiago Motta is a better CM than anyone in Chelsea's squad, so just throw in a couple other CMs with him and PSG are fine.
  20. 15 minutes remaining. will we win? get it in the box to Remy.
  21. When the ball goes to the wing with this side, I really wonder what the players think is going to happen if they keep doing the same thing over and over, waiting, dwelling, waiting. Do we just need better center midfielders for interplay, or is Hazard just doing the wrong thing repeatedly? Clearly nothing happens between Hazard and Matic. goes nowhere.
