Bastoni or Murillo for me. Another midfiled, as Lavia ain't ever fit, not sure about Essugo and Santos I rather trade up. We have giving him changes but I'm not sure he is the player we need in the mid to dominate. Winger, nah I pass at this time. I don't want to waste money on that at the expense of the others.

Vitor Roque would absolutely have been the model Clearlake signing before he went to Barca and flopped massively. Thankfully I don’t think even this board isn’t silly enough to buy him now. The last thing this squad needs is another young and inconsistent forward when we’ve already got a bunch of those on our books as is. It is kinda mad how the last 2 Brazilian “wonderkids” to move to the Spanish giants in Roque & Endrick have been complete disasters. We got super lucky that Estevão looks like he has settled much better than those 2 did.

Probably has worked out better for his development also. He got jeered by the Villa fans earlier in the season against Bologna after a tough start and Emery kept playing him through that patch to toughen him up. Looks as if its worked wonders. Also would say Tuchel has put a lot of faith in him with the national team which will have no doubt given him a boost, particularly as his direct competition for that central role is Jude Bellingham (and if you believe the media as well as consider Tuchel’s publicly stated intentions on picking the best team as opposed the best names, he looks to be ahead of him as it stands for the starting 11). Think this summer will be interesting, even more so after the World Cup. We have been linked but it would also be something that I think the player himself may be wary of because he could have the likes of City, Arsenal, Liverpool also if he continues like this and has a good WC. He will be £100m easy if this form Continues.

He made a smart choice staying with Villa in the summer. Didn't risk changing environment in a WC year Could see him leaving if Emery leaves the club but otherwise he seems a great fit there, becoming a club talisman and Chelsea don't look like a huge step up right now

he was saying that back in early November too no way we buy him IMHO he was horrid at Barca

if villa qualife for ucl, why he would swap villa for us? lol

Just get me Morgan Rogers on this team.

He flopped hard at Barca where it’s easy to score goals. Another mid signing if true.
-
Was he not absolutely shit in Spain & wanted to go back to Brazil because he was homesick? Screams Clownlake tbf.

🔵Chelsea are seriously working on a deal to sign Vitor Roque from Palmeiras. Finally, in London, Chelsea is working hard to sign Vitor Roque, Palmeiras' new star player. The 20-year-old Brazilian striker is taking Brazil by storm with 15 goals in his last 20 games, becoming the third highest scorer in the Brasileirão. (@sachatavolieri) FC Chelsea could knock on Lille’s door in January with a €45–50 million bid for 18-year old ‘generational talent’ Ayyoub Bouaddi. They want to sign him outright, then loan him to sister club Strasbourg to continue his development. Chelsea has already signed a contract with 16-year-old super talent Deinner Ordonez, while U-17 World Cup star Mohamed Zongo (16) will move to Racing Strasbourg to play for the Blues in the future. Manchester United Is very interested, Arsenal have already made first contact with Bouaddi’s camp, while Liverpool see Bouaddi as a “player for the next 10 years.” (@MarkBrus)

we only fight for the title without injuries and another world class center back and a world class winger at least club world cup plus injuries plus weak pre season we already knew that our season would be tough
-
Tbf start of the season when the pundits and that did their predictions we were 4th/5th so think we'll match what people predicted. We have got the squad to go all the way and instead top 4 is where we're at..until we sort out the obvious issues which doesnt seem to be happening season after season so here we are again
-
This is where our defending is important because we tend to start slow. The defense has to give the offense an opportunity to win the game. This is why I knew this season we would be up and down. It's the people that are expecting perfection that are disappointed. I think this is what happens when you don't focus on that aspect of the game. We should wait until next season to decide and even if the board decides to address this issue. Or just do the dumb stuff of firing the manager and think someone else can do amazing things without solving that issue...

We're going to be 10-13 points behind the leaders at halfway point in the season. Again around 20+ points behind the league winners.... Maresca has a ceiling.
-
Since we are looking for a LCB 👀
-
Not to mention that Moyes came in removed most of Fergie's title winning staff, replacing them with his own. Don't think Maresca would do something daft as that.

Chelsea’s Enzo Maresca to serve touchline ban for Aston Villa game https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6906284/2025/12/20/enzo-maresca-Chelsea-suspension/ Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has been given a one-match touchline ban after receiving his third yellow card of the season during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle United. The 45-year-old will serve his second touchline ban of the season for Chelsea’s Premier League match at home against Aston Villa on December 27. The Italian coach was booked by referee Andy Madley in the 58th minute at St James’ Park on Saturday, following his animated reaction to Newcastle being awarded a free-kick for Moises Caicedo’s challenge on Bruno Guimaraes. Maresca said in his post-match news conference that his complaints stemmed from frustration over perceived inconsistencies in decisions to book players during the match. In the first half, Alejandro Garnacho was shown a yellow card on 27 minutes for catching the foot of Jacob Ramsey after losing possession. What You Should Read Next Newcastle 2 Chelsea 2 — What did Maresca say at half-time? How did Gordon not earn penalty in thrilling draw? Newcastle's meeting with Chelsea was packed with drama — The Athletic analyses all the talking points “I was complaining just because the same foul was yellow card for us and they did exactly the same foul three times,” Maresca said. “Make foul, take it from behind and no yellow card. So I was just complaining why the same foul, one is yellow card and the other one is no yellow card.” Per the Football Association’s (FA) disciplinary regulations, members of the technical area receive a one-match touchline ban after accumulating three cautions. Maresca was shown yellow cards during November’s 2-o victory against Burnley and September’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United. Saturday’s draw was also the second occasion this season in which six or more Chelsea players/staff received bookings, which — per the FA’s regulations — incurs a £50,000 fine. It will be his second touchline ban of the season, having watched Chelsea’s 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest from the stands in October, after receiving a second booking for celebrating outside of the technical area when Estevao scored a late winner in the 2-1 victory against Liverpool. Chelsea’s disciplinary record this season has been highlighted this term, with six red cards shown to his players in all competitions throughout the campaign. By Cerys Jones and Leon Imber

The problem is, the midfielders don't really fit together and Lavia can barely stay fit for 3 games. Alot of questions to be asked end of the season between Lavia, Santos, Essugo. As for Reece in midfield, feel like that may be the only way to keep him fit long term as we know he gets injured bombing up and down the right flank.

His first club in Europe also! Will finally make an appearance for their first team 20+ years later 😂
