So it seems like Jacquet is totally off the table for this window so both ourselves and Liverpool are going for short term stopgaps at CB and battling to sign JJ over the next 24 hours to come in the summer. Liverpool will be much more desperate for a CB than we are with VVD declining and old + Konate possibly leaving on a free. So they’ll surely blow our wage offer out of the water. So I guess this could come down to how true those reports of him “only wanting Chelsea” are.

Hopefully Anselmino stays fit the rest of the season. Strasbourg could be great for his development if he does. Having another Argentine there in Barco should help him settle I would think. Then they can both come over to Chelsea in the summer. 👍🏼

You cant fix defence with changes of defence line every game! No other club does this.. IDK which football proffesor suggested it to our board but its nonsence. Our defence is like cheese, non existing. Also wingers -Neto, Gittens, Garnacho bang avarage - cant pass 1 defender 1on1.. We need real wingers!

We need to fix the defensive side of things, this leaking of goals is far too easy for other teams

Genuinely scared about what a good attacking team could do to us if we keep playing like this. So poor defensively that we could finish a first half down 3 or 4 goals and it will be beyond saving. Imagine what a full strength Napoli might have done to us with how we let their B team score. I think Liam has promise but I'm seeing some serious red flags and urgent improvement is required.

What I liked — and what I don’t even remember seeing under Maresca — was the energy in the second half, pressing relentlessly. I can’t remember the last time I saw Chelsea react to going behind like that, suffocating the opponent. I hope this marks a change in mentality.

Yep, Sarr is coming back, AA to Strasbourg and probably lose Jacket Potato to Liverpool So all in all, we won't be buying anyone we are just ripping the life out of Strasbourg

If we have been linked to Tonali & are serious about it, pull the trigger. No questions or doubts. Genuine top player, right age, physically capable, gets around the pitch well, good variation in his passing, play as a 6 or an 8. Would be an excellent signing in fact but any links/move would probably be too good to be true. Be more PR from the wankers upstairs. Him, Caicedo & Fernandez/Palmer would be a very good midfield 3 - be it with a 6 & two 8’s or two 6’s & a 10. Him and Caicedo in particular would be excellent together I feel. Bring a real physicality and grit. I mean that Newcastle midfield 3 has got a bit of everything but he for me is genuinely the best out of the 3 of them. Would take Lewis Hall back too, doing very well at LB.

Perhaps but then again, you cannot afford to let guys like Garnacho & Hato in particular play as badly for as long as they did today. Yes he subs them at HT but should’ve been ruthless and done a lot earlier to no complaints. And maybe if he had, we get going a bit sooner because that left side was an absolute joke between Badiashile, Hato & Garnacho. I don’t think I’ve seen such a bad attacking performance from an individual player since Ramires v Man City under Rafa, honestly abysmal. Do agree he has to find time to rest them but West Ham is a derby match irregardless of their current standing. And notoriously, teams in the bottom half of the table are the sort of games we’ve really struggled with the past 3 + seasons or so due to going through the motions/underestimating the opposition/not being up for it from minute 1 etc etc. Again nothing changed. There isn’t sufficient quality or experience where he can leave the likes of Cucurella out knowing his replacement will comfortably perform because they’ve proven himself as reliable. Or someone like Pedro Neto or Joao Pedro. Which screams big problems given they aren’t exactly top elite footballers. But we’ve got the overlords to blame for that.
