Mistakes all over the park, and Tosin and Chalobah are simply not good enough, how the fuck we have spent what we have and still have gaping gaps needing to quality players is beyond me. I though Joao Pedro was very good last night, he is some player him
-
We have plenty of midfielders but he plays there James.. Also Enzo in this left atacking side is useless.. Play him in middle, if not play someone else on left..

Bayern were definitely there to be gotten at and we had chances first half. Experience and quality make or break teams, they have that in abundance. We need that. They managed to get through a difficult moment then woke up. Look at the all the teams that won titles here, quality, knowhow, experience, big personalities. There are a few older lads in the group already but more experienced and stronger personalities are needed definitely. Regardless, we made it easy for them. Like against Brentford at the weekend. And several times last season and the one before that. We are a soft side. Media and supporters keep saying we are a “young side with not a lot of experience” but the only way that is going to change sooner than later is with adding a couple of guys who have either the right quality/experience/mentality/personalities to help the younger guys. Big games aren’t necessarily just about outperforming the opponent from the get go, you’ve got to manage the game and get through moments where the other teams have the better of it. We don’t have that quality or knowhow at current & doubtful we will get it going down this path again. I thought against PSG Maresca and the boys showed a bit of that but it’s been too few and far between in his & Poch’s tenure.
-
When will Maresca learn....if ever. That James is not a MF and Fernandes is not an AMF, had he addressed at least these two options things might have been different, and I do mean in a good way.

Exactly. But hey he would’ve been on big wages yadayadayada and the BlueCo boffins would be afraid to break their wage structure. Or would rather dedicate the funds to sign 14 16-20 year olds that could easily be the next Buffon, Nesta & Madlini or on the other side of the coin, Paddy Kenny, Titus Bramble & Phil Bardsley. That will probably get loaned and sold anyway for profit. Despite not wanting to be anything like the past ownership but isn’t stock pilling every good under 21 player not something we did before? With Roman? And sending players to Vitesse/loan army? Yes but outside of the club, do the fans care about re-sale value? No. I hate seeing people mention it as if it means something significant. Same with net spend - there isn’t any trophies for spreadsheet side of football. Ok the club is a business but no point having a net spend of £50m if all you’ve got to show for it is a place in the Conference League or whatever. And even then, we’ve been nailed with fines and fuck knows what else under BlueCo’s ownership to do with finances/transfers so again wouldn’t be getting a hard on about finances 😂 If we can improve upon a player significantly, why not show ambition and do it? Hence why I was so for the Maignan deal for the €22m or whatever it was these jokers wouldn’t stump up…. Donnarumma would’ve been an even better signing too. Missed opportunities for sure. I said Jorgensen wouldn’t be good enough before we closed the deal, the fact Sanchez kept him out the team for most of last season says everything.

Probably waiting for additional cup competition wins, including some competitions that UEFA and FIFA are yet to create. THEN they can secure the absolute best sponsorship deal in the world. One that is fair value. Anything else is a waste of time. Sincerely., Blueco.

I'm also doubling down on what I mentioned in the Brentford game. We should have started with better players for that game, instead of saving our best for this one This one Bayern game is largely inconsequential compared to the other winnable fixtures in the CL group stage. No big loss, because Bayern were the favorites anyway. Now we have to worry about which of our players (looking at James, Palmer) will be fit enough to play against United. Another game which we should be winning.
-
Wouldn't read too much out of our league position, IMO We've had one of the easiest starts to the season compared to some of the other contenders for top 5. Get a positive result against Man Utd this Saturday, and then we'll talk. The POSITIVE thing is that the boffins in recruitment have a chance to correct this slide in January with a quality CB signing. Even if that player doesn't register for CL, get him for the league games. The sad thing is they had a chance to do this same thing last season, but they decided to penny pinch and recall Chalobah for free. And now we have squad level CBs everywhere. Some of them like Disasi can't even be moved.
-
Time to hold our horses. Not yet we are. That's what Blueco would like you to believe. Hopefully this result at least makes the recruitment team at least acknowledge that our defensive line is not all that its up to be, and that filling the squad with a gazillion squad level CBs doesn't do much. Quality over quantity. Always.

https://football-observatory.com/WeeklyPost513 Issue number 513 of the CIES Football Observatory's Weekly Post presents the 100 clubs worldwide having committed the most money in transfer fees (including add-ons regardless of actual payment) to recruit their current first team squad players. Chelsea tops the list with a total investment of €1,314 million, of which €134 million for the most expensive signing (Moisés Caicedo, 10%). Manchester City (€1,128 million) and Manchester United (€1,071m) round up the podium, followed by two other English clubs: Liverpool (€1,065m) and Arsenal (€1,001m). No club outside England has invested more than one billion to assemble its squad, with a maximum of €873 million for Champions League title holders Paris St-Germain (7th, just ahead of Real Madrid). Al-Hilal tops the rankings for non-European clubs (€451m, 19th). Compared to the same date last year, the amounts committed by the ten clubs having invested the most in transfer fees to build their current first team squads increased by 15% (from 8.44 to 9.67 billion) and those of the top 100 by 12% (from 26.23 to 29.42 billion). This evolution is directly linked to the record transfer spending registered in 2025, as illustrated in this video. Transfer fees committed to assemble the squad (€ million) Top 100 worldwide. Squads as on 15/09/2025. Including any add-ons (regardless of actual payment) and paying loans.

We need to buy a CB in January. Aside from that it was 3 errors that led to goals. Cut that shit out and I don’t think that’s the worst performance away from home. Despite being makeshift in the backline - we are a BS goal away to Brentford from being second in the league. No where near as dire as made out on here.

It’s not that we think we will win it but the fact that we should be competing like a seriously dangerous team having spent the money we have. I know it’s boring to keep banging on about it but the facts are the facts..

What’s going on with that? How incompetent are these fuckers!

Still can’t find a shirt sponsor?
-
but someoen think that we will win this competition? lool first step is qualify to next round and then lets see if we have some luck in the draw but step by step
-
All of the games will be tough, we just looked off the pace. What happened to Enzo, just looks a bit slow since start of the season. Was hoping Lavia would be back by now to offer midfield rotation. Club made a mistake not going after a good CB + GK in the transfer window. Instead we spent 50 million on Gittens and then another 40 on Garnacho.
-
Oh please. Maresca is getting pelters for tonights game. I feel for him, this board has let him down this summer. Yea we got a few decent strikers and a back up lb… but he deserved more. Just look at the defence we are starting with… absolutely horrendous for a club of this stature.

not necessary There are teams that develop during the season and depends a lot of the draw we already knew that game would be tough
-
Watching all the other big clubs highlights and they all have grown ass men in their teams from back to front.. meanwhile we field an under 21 team.. we are going nowhere in this competition.
