An interview with Cesc this week.
-
Not a Rory Jennings fan, but he managed to pull this off this week:
-
Have a feeling that nothing, even strong rumors, are going to materialize until the race for the European spots (including the FA cup & Europa league final) is done and dusted. Which effectively means nothing until the end of the season. Not too far away.

Guess who else would they get on such short notice. Really need shouldve been done way before it happened. Sad how far weve fallen. As it stands weve lost as many as weve won and still 3 games to go so that will no doubt change

This has to be the biggest circus on the football planet right now at Chelsea....McFarlane doesn't even hold a UEFA coaching pro license badge and we have allowed him to take charge twice. It really is no wonder the players look lose, not just in regards to Callum as I am not pointing this at him but more so the fact we have allowed this to happen, not once, but twice and jammed in between was the clueless fuckwit Rosenior. This football club is a cancer right now
-
Until they take a step back and shut the fuck up and leave the manager alone it doesn't matter who we appoint.
-
They need to actually go through with the self reflection they claim to be doing

🗯🔵Chelsea have made an initial approach to Barcelona legend Xavi. Xavi would be open to move to England. Chelsea plan to reach out to several candidates, but sources close to Xavi confirm he is one of them that has been contacted. (@JacobsBen)

🚨🔵Xavi Hernández on controlling games: 🗣️ Xavi: “Football is about understanding, not just running. At Barcelona, we were taught that the ball moves faster than any player. If you move it correctly, you control everything—the tempo, the spaces, the opponent’s mind. When you dominate possession, you don’t just attack, you defend with the ball. That’s what made us different. Teams would chase shadows, and by the time they realised it, the game was already gone. It’s not about having the ball for the sake of it. It’s about knowing what to do with it. That’s the difference between keeping possession and controlling a match.”
-
Yeah, I’d be fine with either of these two. I would feel straight away that were in solid hands but then it comes down to whether the ownership will provide the new manager with the player HE asks for and they don’t continue to just force players upon them like Garnacho because some scout or sporting director is obsessed with him.
-
That is an issue of no manager stability. Everyone new that comes in will go the safer route and go with older players and what not.

Leaves Alonso and Iraola as the only real options for me. I'm leaning towards Iraola because of league experience but Alonso and his coaching team seem level headed, smart too. They will both prioritize making the squad be better at pressing, running and after having watched a season where our team has been outrun every single game, it would be welcome. Will need a big turnover of the squad too as many mediocre players have just settled in and around the first team here.
-
I remember being open to Xavi when his name was in the mix before we appointed Maresca. But he’s been out of work for what, 3 years now? He would be a massive risk at this time when we need someone as close to a sure thing as we can get. The new manager will be taking over a club in absolute crisis. Appointing someone like Xavi could be disastrous.

‘Chelsea have made significant progress in installing a football identity’ Huh!!! 🫤🤔😐
-
🗯🔵BREAKING: Xavi Hernandez is under consideration by Chelsea to be their next manager! Managers in conversation at Chelsea: ▪︎ Xavi Hernandez ▪︎ Xabi Alonso ▪︎ Francesco Farioli ▪︎ Cesc Fabregas (not expected to leave Como) Andoni Iraola is appreciated, but Chelsea will have to weigh up if they want to change approach. “The club have made significant progress in instilling a football identity that is visible in the academy, and that one of the values of Maresca was his teams typified this approach. Chelsea consequently want to persevere with a coach of similar principles.” (@MiguelDelaney)

The games are probably catching up to Caicedo at this point in the season. Same with Neto & Pedro. With Enzo and Cucu, they're just waiting for La Liga moves. As for Palmer, he really is a bang average player without penalties. Josh, Hato & Sarr must be sitting around thinking why they are at the club after watching Tosin - Chalobah and Gusto get starts.
-
Eghbali is going nowhere anytime soon and arguably he’s the biggest issue now. It appears he is calling the shots, hired the sporting directors etc. Boehly won’t be chairman from next year if I remember correctly, could possibly be bought out by Eghbali/Clearlake.
-
Glazers is an example. There's not much power fans have but protests over a prolonged period, refusing to buy club merchandise, go to games and hopefully they just decide to sell the club or at the least fire Boehly/Eghbali
-
I'd sell all of them besides Caicedo.
-
The hilarious thing is these numpties were holding out on securing a long-term shirt sponsor in hopes of better deal, and now have risked not finishing in any of the European spots. What was old Eghbali's astute assessment again? "Chelsea were quite frankly an asset, not terribly well managed on the football, sporting or promotional side" Someone should put those words on a banner and hold it aloft in the stadium.

They won’t change shit because of the fans though. Lets be real. Look at how well thats worked out for the Strasbourg fans, they’ve done a lot more protesting and shown discontent over a much longer, prolonged period than we have and nothing has changed there. At all. BlueCo don’t care. Attendances probably will have to start dropping by a huge number constantly for a prolonged period to make any sort of difference to these. But it won’t be noticed due to the change in atmosphere, it will be noticed due to loss of match day money. Even then, Boehly & Eghbali will just keep flogging tickets to tourists at hugely inflated prices as they have been. Fans not going to games & renewing season tickets may sound extreme but it is the only way to show these IMO. Can boo/whistle/whatever but they are ruthless billionaires who probably don’t care what people think of them as it is.

The only difference between Cucurella and Cinderella are the letters He was shite today, along with them all. I keep saying it and will continue to do so, need to buy experience, quality keeper, quality CB, top class CF and a LW.

Pedro did a Pele in Escape to Victory wonder goal and Colwill came out of his first game of the season unscathed. About the limit of anything positive from that shit show. none of the starting back 4 should start again this season.
